Day 3 on the JMT | Summiting Mount Whitney | Solo Thru-Hiking the John Muir Trail Northbound (NOBO)

In August 2021, I solo thru-hiked the John Muir Trail (JMT) northbound from Horseshoe Meadow via Cottonwood Pass to Happy Isles in Yosemite National Park.
On Day 3, I hiked 21 miles. I hiked from Crabtree to summit Mount Whitney for sunrise and then turned around and continued northbound on the JMT, finishing the day at Bighorn Plateau.

Started to watch your amazing experience.. I am starting from the north going south trying to retrace the same path my dad and his best friend did in the 60s..
63 years old for me over here on my end..my Pops and his best friend did the JMT in sections over the course of five summers..that’s my plan too:)
