Thank you so much for the lawn info. My groundskeeper II arrived today, this thing is a ROCKSTAR! Hands down THE best rake I have ever used!! I was about rake a mountain of thatch out of the back yard without killing my back, hands, shoulders..etc. Thanks again, channels like this are what RUclips should be all about.
I appreciate quality hand tools. You can tell the quality of something if it’s going to fall apart or not the first time you use it. Spring time cleanup is always a good time! It means lawn season is beginning 😁
My GroundsKeeper 2 does wonders. I use it around my pine trees to refresh the grass and get all the pine needles/cones out. I dethatch and pick dead grass out, clear snow mold patches... The list goes on and on. It put two tools to rest which is my dethatcher and my nut pick up tool I use for pine cones. I still use my leaf rake over the surface to collect all the debris that the GK2 pulls out, otherwise it is worth every penny👍
I’ve had the rake for several months. Love it! For me it’s definitely been a game changer. Based on my experience The Groundskeeper II is the best out there. Purchase yours today. Neighbors will wonder what your doing and what you have. Great product.
Thanks for your review. Just bought one! Big patches of my front yard are dying off, and I realized I have a thatch buildup. It's never been dethatched in 8 years. Hoping this does the trick and gets my grass growing again.
@@JimmyLewisMows I enjoyed the presentation aspect. You spent some time and thought into telling us about the GK2. I have many of the same rakes that you thru on the ground. :- )
Great video, you may or may not know, also on raking leaves, when the leaves get stuck in the rake flip it over and slightly rake the leaves will come off. Thanks
I've been using my thatch rake throughout my whole yard for 6 weeks! It beats you up so fast; get's a ton of gunk out of the yard but it's so hard to use for more than 5 minutes. Cool looking alternative you got there; I may just have to put it on my wish list.
Hey great video! I love that rake too! Do you think people are doing too much mulching with their mowers, vs. bagging? I bag every third mow instead of mulching all the time. It seems to be working for me. Any comments?
Not sure on that one. I think mulching is a really great practice, and should be done often. Of course, having proper mulching blades on your mower, and keeping the 1/3 rule are extremely important, but I don't think bagging every so often is necessarily bad, either. Whatever works for your situation.
I used the Sun Joe Dethatcher/Scarifier with the dethatch attachment. If just wanting to fluff and cleanup just a little, set it on the highest setting (+10mm). Makes quick work that won't wear out your back. Then it can go real deep the scarifier attach to dig in the thatch layer if needed. Love the machine and I got mine off Amazon in January for $110. Very versatile tool. Thanks to Pest and Lawn Ginja.
I bought one, was excited to do my lawn. After three uses, it broke at the head next to the rivet. I saw other reviews on Amazon say the same thing. Very cheap plastic for the handle.
Faith sent me to your Video Today. I watched your previous video on how to aerate your yard. Great video. Then I decided to watch a couple More and while watching this 3rd video @ 1:34 you showed me the Mountain Top. I had to Stop the video and Pray. Psalms 121:1. Thank You for Blessing me today. Many won’t understand if you’re a Believer you probably did the Same Thing. I so needed this Video
Excellent. I have one coming through an Amazon re-seller. Still a week or two out but look forward to using it in my beds too. I think it will be useful for light raking those areas without pulling all the mulch out. Of course it will will be great on the turf!
I bought one of these rakes and I have used it a couple times, but I can’t figure out what makes it better than a normal rake. So far I ALWAYS prefer to use a normal rake over the Groundskeeper II. So what’s the deal with it? I’ve already tried it and I don’t understand it.
Hi, thanks for all your wonderful videos, do you still recommend it, isn’t it considered pricey (39$+ 8$ shipping+ taxes ) would you recommend it, I just bought a house with a 1/2 acre lawn and have no tools yet so I will need to get everything for my lawn care
@@JimmyLewisMows awesome just found this channel this morning so I got the greenworks dethatcher and now I'll add the groundskeeper 2 as well! My lawn is awesome in the summer but really struggles to respond in the spring. Would it be ok to dethatch in spring and then again in fall? I found it's best to dethatch in the Midwest in the fall since we have cool season grass but curious if I could do this twice this season then 1 time in the fall after that?
Really you shouldn't need to dethatch that regular. Having a thatch layer is normal and good. It's when it for whatever reason gets out of control that you need to remove the excess. Spring or fall is fine though. I've done a full agressive dethatch on my lawn once ever, and then I did one on the front yard last fall only because it helped me be able to lower my height of cut in preparation for reel mowing.

just bought one and getting it on Friday. Freaken excited to use this thing

Great product.
Great ground rake! Thanks for the video demonstration. I'm getting one.
I have one of these rakes that I use for my stump grinding business. Works great for cleaning up the chips.
Great rake. Hard to rake leaves though as it is pretty aggressive and digs into the lawn. I mainly use it for dethatching.
True. Leafs require a much more gentle take.
Going to try one this coming season. I've been using a bow rake and it works but it's a little more strenuous and destructive.
Been using it for two years its a great rake.
Very nice. Been wanting to pick up one of these for awhile now. I think I need to go ahead and do it.
Yes. Yes you do 😉🙂

Watched a lot of these videos, just ordered from your link. Excited to put this rake through it's paces!
This was an 8 minute video with 90 seconds of pertinent content.
That said, I will buy this via the link
Thanks for the feedback and the support.

An almost 8 minute video to literally show 21 seconds of what it does ...

That rake is on the top of my “things to purchase” list. Great job Jimmy. 👍
Do it! So worth it.
raking is some serious cardio, nicely done
Better to take with this than those stinking thatch rakes! Much less cardio!!
That looks like a winner! I’ll need to get one too!
Totally worth it.
I just got two of these delivered today, but it’s raining, so here I am watching raking videos online 😅. I used to be cool, haha
They work really well upside down also for seeding! Even level soil really well upside down. Semi Pro tip
Good work Jimmy! I'm on my 3rd mow. Applied Pre-m today. This is gonna be a killer season for me and you!
Buying one right now. Thanks Jimmy !

Thanks. I particularly enjoy verse 2 of that psalm.
Thanks 👍
I do my own lawn trimming/gardening too. Electric lawnmower/trimmer. That rake would make a good addition to the gardening equipment. 👍
Thanks...very helpful!

They are amazing and made in the USA. My gripe, they didn't return my email about their rakes.
Are you certain that your email reached them? They may not be aware of your email.
Great video! I have one of those too. It is excellent. 👍
Probably need more rakes Jimbo!
You get one yet
Now I can get rid of a bunch
Jimmy Lewis noooo. I can’t do it. I like tools
@@MikeHaddadLawnAddictions I just donated a three tine cultivator and a second four tine I inherited from my grandmother. Lol.
I'll be adding one of these to my arsenal prior to fall over-seeding!

Sorry, Jeff. My comment was supposed to be for Koven Carlson.
hype was so real they no longer exist lmao
Sure they do.
Hey Jimmy, great video 😉
I got one last fall. Definitely worth it! Well said, Jimmy.

Hey there. Yes I do still recommend it, although I wouldn't use it for the entire yard, just isolated areas.
I ordered one this week
How's it do on pine needles? I have 12 huge pine trees and the pine needles and pine cones are making me crazy.
I haven't personally tried it on pine needles, but I can imagine it would work well!
@@JimmyLewisMows I went ahead and ordered the regular size and 30 inch size.
Any worries with it pulling out too much good grass? I use it on my Bermuda and it's epic on the dead grass...but it also yanks out good grass.
No worries at all. Especially with Bermuda and KBG. They spread and repair very well.
@@JimmyLewisMows Nice! Ok I'm going to town this weekend then!
Why do you have that mulch piled up so high around your trees?
How well does this work with acorns?
I think you need a few more rakes. 😂 I’ve seen that rake before. Looks pretty interesting.
It's a choice rake. Really liking it.
Yeah the GK 2 is a must have...….
Would you still use this even if you have a dethatcher machine as well?
Great question. I do have a Greenworks dethatcher that I use for bigger projects. This is great for raking out small areas/sections.

No longer available on Amazon, 6/19/24. Must not have sold many.
These rakes need a stronger handle . the one that comes with it are fiberglass they splinter . It would be a top notch rake if it had a metal handle .
What’s up jimmy ..😎👍
Why has it been discontinued? I really want one
It took me a while but I finally found one . Thank you
@@BC-bg8de I really like mine . I got the large one
Are you from UT?
Yes
Looks like the Cop car at 2.02 seconds also wanted some camera time in this video :D
3:34 rake lands and breaks in half...video over.
So this is a dethatching rake?
Not exactly. Not as aggressive and not as back breaking.
@@JimmyLewisMows Thanks, I'll give this one a shot before I decide to order the back breaking one.
Not available on Amazon now.
Darn. Hopefully they’ll be available again
Available now on Amazon. I just purchased. Better hurry, before they’re sold out. Cheers!
That rake don’t look heavy duty enough for a professional setting
Well I'll just add that to the list...
Just got one, forestry products
30 bucks, + shipping.
Nice!
5 min mark for the rake demo🤪
5:14 :)
I've only heard good things about those.
Jesus H. Christ-you could have done this in under 2 minutes! So much wasted time with jaw jacking about the snow, etc.
Always better with lubrification :-)
