I totally understand the hate that people don’t like brandy Melville because of their sizing, but as someone who has always been very skinny, it’s very hard to find clothes that fit me well. Brandy Melville is part of the few stores that fit me. Yes, they should be more inclusive, but also still be inclusive to smaller sizes. Many people think about inclusivity as making bigger sizing, but this usually impacts smaller sizing for people like me. 😊
I need something like that in Jamaica, it’s hard going to stores and everything starts at medium but if I’m lucky I might find a small which is still too big but I can work with it.
literally nobody has an issue with brandy being a petite store. what people have an issue with is the fact that it’s not marketed as or stated to be a petite store. the tags literally say “one size fits most”, which is okay and true for something like socks, but not something like jeans. and the fact that it’s for teens makes it worse. teens are much more prone to developing eating disorders from outside influences, such as brands that their peers buy from and idolize not selling their size and effectively boasting about it. also this woman is not even close to “plus size”.

The one size isn’t made for exclusivity. As a bigger person I know that it’s hard to find my size in stores. That’s why stores that sell plus size clothing are really great. It’s the same thing with brandy. So many small and petit girls can’t find their size in stores. Yes it’s easier than finding plus size clothing, but that doesn’t mean that it is easy. There are some girls that are just really thin and can’t find their size in stores so a brand like brandy that sells small sizes is great. Stop acting like body inclusivity doesn’t go both ways.

The founder is overtly racist and predatory, and the company refuses to donate excess out-of-season items because they "don't want poor people to promote the brand". I’m a petite person, my bust is bigger than my hips if that gives you a view.
