The cop said one thing then when confronted with his own notes, said different.
Very well put together, and should be utilized to show the corruptness within the Police department. Officer's should be held to a higher standard when they break any rule of Law. I pray this Brother and all the youth that fall under this minimum sentencing of 51yrs.find relief through this story.

None of them sends sixteen year olds to prison for murder when they didn't pull the trigger. They made him responsible for something he simply didn't do. That EVERY SINGLE DAY of his life, and it didn't matter how good he was feeling the second he saw himself in the mirror he was reduced to one single thought, "Oh ... That's right. I'm black."

If you take part in a crime and while committing that crime someone is murdered you will be charged with the death- no matter your race. The young man that was murdered doesn't get a second chance. He was a "child" but had a 2 year old baby and was down to rob a store with a gun- at least his family still gets to talk to him.

Normal country? When it comes to violent crime and sentencing I'll take our punitive measures over any other country in the west. This specific example I'm not 100% sure of and I don't like the 16 year olds getting enormous sentences but in general I definitely prefer our punitive sentencing when it comes to violent crime compared to Germany, Canada Great Britain Etc. Let someone close to you be murdered and see their killer get 15 years and then be paroled... you'll change your mind. Once again I'm not referring to this specific example
I’ve been around crazy people like the Manning guy and they can be scary enough to make you do stuff you would never get involved in. Luckily I never got in this kind of situation but have been around people that this could have happened. Luckily I was smart enough to get away from people like that. I hate violence and robbing etc. but when you are young I can understand how some people could get one caught up in this terrible situation. I lost interest/sympathy when the race baiting began. The girl was sitting in the car, unarmed, when the 20 year old store manager was murdered. The Ameer guy was in the store and holding a gun. Furthermore, the psycho killer and Ameer were friends/associates. The conversation about how Psycho Robert had shot someone else earlier in the day, told Ameer what " I gotta get me some money" meant.
Close family member of two murder victims here. I have absolutely no sympathy for this individual. If you actively participate in the crime, and were going to share in the proceeds, then you're just as guilty as the one pulling the trigger. The only quibbles I have are that the sentence should be life without possibility of parole, and all three should serve the same term.

The physical presence of an accomplice can actually immobilise a victim, making him unable to act or even escape. Don't ever write that off.
