- The Royal Thai Air Force and National Aviation Museum was established in 1952 to collect, preserve and restore different airplanes and other aviation equipment used by the Royal Thai Air Force and some from the Royal Thai Navy.
The museum's collection includes rare aircrafts such as Japanese Tachikawa Ki-36, Vought O2U Corsair, Curtiss BF2C Goshawks, Spitfire, Nieuports and Breguets.

A very interesting collection of aircraft of many types. To see a LTV Corsair II parked next to a Mig and then a Northrop F5 a little further down was pretty cool.

Surprised me too and I’m a local! I was there a decade ago. The MiG was gifted to the museum by Vietnamese Air Force around 2016
I visited there in 2018, very interesting collections. the F-5 at the reception was set up right side down and 45 degrees head up was really impressive. expecting to go back again.
The Thai Prince was a Ferrari Works driver and Enzo Ferrari used thai mechanics to maintain the cars, They were extremely good and won races in the Golden days of Formula 1 and Sports car racing. This is not a backward country. I Love the place

My father worked there Many years finding parts for the displays. He retired now. Grandfather was mechanic 1939-1942
I think that the way museum of mechanics works, cannibalize and frankenstein rebuild.

ไปครั้งล่าสุดปี 57 แฮริเออร์กับA7 แล้วก็ MiG-21 ยังไม่มาเลย พึ่งไปสัตหีบตอนต้นเดือนแต่ไม่ได้ไปดู ของ กบร. เสียดาย ยังไม่เคยไปเลย

I wish VNAF rather donated the Mi-24 Hind A than MiG-21.
There is also a library on the display building. I've been there and red some interesting books about military and aviation. There should be both Thai and english books if I remember correctly.

I have been there before i getting deployed. It was some parts of training and then does some shooting staff after that i was sent to station at task force 9 base for 6 months Tell you what that place has some unique stuff.
I bought the Task Force 9 shoulder patches from the museum souvenir shop. Seems like this TF continues being active for the long way to come.

it's from Vietnam
Asean friendship program. Vietnam sent their mig21 to this museum. Thailand also sent their plane to Vietnam.

เครื่องบินก็เหมือนรถยนต์ครับ หลายยุค หลายสมัย ผ่านการใช้งาน ขับมาเป็นหมื่นๆแสนๆกิโล สักวันก็ต้องเปลี่ยนซื้อคันใหม่ และ คันเก่าต้องเก็บรักษาไว้ มองให้กว้างๆครับ
