Hello Mr Davis. I have only just found you on RUclips. Your classes are amazing. I have always wanted to learn how to paint for years but never took the plunge. Perspective was my problem!. You make it so easy and interesting. You explain so much which is essential for absolute beginners which I am. Your videos have inspired me to try. Thank you so much for teaching us. Keep them coming. 🤗
I really love your unpretentious, yet serious way of painting and teaching us who are not as confident in brush technique as you are. Thank you for doing this.🖌
Stuart, I would like to say, if I haven`t said it before, that I love watching all your videos. Not only are you a singularly unique master artist but also I love following your fascinating, rambling mind. It takes me on a relaxing journey.
Hello there, I've just recently discovered your tutorials and i must say its a relief to finally find a tutor that teaches in a way that i find visually and technically clear. Ive picked up various books on Edward Seago, Cozens ,Cotman and so on and have tried to learn the various methods in which they learnt and practiced. I've been so reluctant too start oil painting , almost overwhelmed by how to start. Most days i just doodle and copy sergeant's portraits just to relive the itch of wanting to get something creative out of my system. Thank you for uploading all your content. Ill be heading back to my home of North Norfolk in a few weeks for summer and im now very excited to try some of these methods. Brilliant.
Watchedyou paint this last night. It was very late and I couldn't keep awake. First thing this morning have continued to watch before everything else. I have loved every step of way.Thankyou so much.Extremely helpful .Looking forward so much to impersonating the leader of the orchestra!!!
Very enjoyable scene, Stuart. I went for a walk through those woods and, in the glade on the left group, there's a wooden seat inviting a wanderer to sit.....
I haven't commented in quite some time, life can kick you in the rear sometimes can't it? Anyway.. I just wanted to say: your still on top of your game Mr. Davies and I watched the entire video for the pure joy of just watching art happen. It was relaxing and needed. Thank you.
I use a lovely tool I bought for My Painting and decorating bussiness. I bought two Badger brushes , one 4" & 2" and a flogging brush. I blend and soften with the badger brushes. 👍👏👏👏🍎
Ty so much for posting this Professor!! I wasn’t feeling very good during class yesterday, & I’m pretty sure I passed out during the class at some point bc I don’t remember most of it, or it even ending, lol. Thx again🫶
Hi Debra, I hope you're feeling better! When I'm editing my videos, my voice almost puts me in a coma too! One hour of painting = three to four hours of editing. I'm surprised I can still function!
I love the freedom you give me in your lessons. I have one question. Is there a second video on this painting since I see a colored version at the beginning of your video? Thanks so much!
Wow very beautiful Painting stuart . I like .i want to ask One questions can i use ultramarine blue , Sap Green, Crimson lake Red anda white .for light tree i use white ?
Now look, you have to stop this business of making painting look so easy… I’ve been perfectly happy procrastinating for forty years, but now you’ve gone and persuaded me that I may just be able to actually paint something… Goodness me, I’ve even dug out my old easel, brushes and paints. If I do paint something, I want you to know that it’s all your fault!
You have inspired me to paint, after wood carving for few years thank you
I've enjoyed a number of your videos Stuart, but this is the best in quite a while! Thank you! Happy painting and good health, my friend!

I really love the 'sweeping green 'in this painting .
Marvelous once again.
Thank you for your humble insightfull-ness. Very enjoyable and informative. 🙂
This reminds me of the letter between Edward Corbett to Campfleury. Absolutely brilliant insights and very funny and dramatic. 👍
Missed watching this live darn.

Fantastic...im looking forward to giving it a go
Looks great!
Great video. Very informative. I think your paintings are more alive and dramatic than those of Bruce Crane and George Inness that you mentioned

I've just looked at some photo's of it and I think I'll have to paint something similar very soon.

I always encourage people to experiment. It could be interesting!
Please excuse me for now, will watch replay. I'm not well. Taken meds and eyes just want to close. Thank you for this most interesting painting.
Do you ever use water mixable oils Stuart?
No, because it's watercolour ;-)
Trees don't grow down. They begin in the ground and grow up.
Really?
