Hello Kate how are you doing today hope you are feeling better soon looking forward to seeing you on a sportsbike soon in new leathers and a new swanky helmet and dark visor ride safe lovely 😂
My KTM 1290 SAS has been the highest performance bike I've owned. I came from a Yamaha Super Tenere, and it's not even a comparison. I really like the power and all of the cool tech features. My only nitpick is that KTM's quality control has really dropped off a cliff in the past few years. My fuel pump died at only 6,500 miles and just 3 months out of warranty. Turns out it is an extremely common issue, but KTM refuses to own these issues. They don't seem to care about customers, and without a very good dealership to reach out on your behalf you're likely not to get a response. That is in the USA, anyway. Only buy KTM if you have a fantastic and customer-focused dealership.
Switching to a 70/30 tire makes the S much more competent. I get the key warning occasionally, even when they key is in the 'glove box'. I keep the rescue key in my wallet on every ride just in case I do lose the key. I love the suspension on mine. Offroad road really works well, well, Offroad. Then put everything in Sport when you get back on road and it's a missle.
I had several bikes, mainly big maxi trails but as well sport tourer’ and many others. Long story short, every brand has his own issues - in many aspects. But talking about my story, KTM SAS 2022 the best bike i have since ever. The best. Cheers fellas
All of these mega sports, mega tourer and mega ADV bikes are ridiculously over the top in terms of weight, speed, power and tech. But would you have it any other way? They're all glorious tributes to first world excess!
s**t happens and its only plastic and metal - the good part of KTM's are their engine bars, take it from me they do the job, but next time I'll get black as its easier to sand and spray than matching KTM Orange!!! when you pick a bike up on its side, pop your backside on the seat, in your case use your left hand on the back seat grab rail, right hand on the left handlebar and you walk it back up rather than pile the pressure oon your back and risk spraining it or worse...If your on the other side, pop the side stand down first!!!! Its Sooo much easier believe me. Glad you enjoyed it. I hate the indicator button with a passion and find having changed to a Ergo Heated seat, I am a happy bunny to ride long and hard... ride safe - look forward to your blogs.
I have a 2022 and i dont have any issue with the blinker. Its maybe a little light in feel but works everytime. I love the radar cruise control. Loving the bike in general
Buckle up folks, we’re gonna watch a username Kate video, that girl is wild. Sitting on my couch, helmet on. Ten seconds in, she falls of the bike. She fights back, she tamed the KTM. Wel done Kate, another great video, love the Chanel. Ride save. Und bis die nachste 👍👍🇳🇱
The tank range on that bike really shows its Jekyll and Hyde nature; 230+ miles from a tank while touring or commuting, no problem. Take it out on a Sunday and ride it like a supermoto though and the dash will be screaming at you for a refill after 90 miles. What a bike, I had mine for 18 months and it never gave me any trouble. Put Pirelli Angel GTs on it and it was a weapon on a B road. Shame you can't get stickier rubber for a 19" front really, part of the reason I sold mine. Another great vlog Kate!
I really thought I'd like digital dashes when they came out but I just don't. I much prefer my dials on the 'busa. Gives me at a glance situational awareness. I guess it's just what I'm used to after 35 plus years of riding.
Totally agree about the seat. KTM have definitely improved it over the the previous models. I’ve done a couple of 300 plus mile rides on mine and not suffered major discomfort. The indicator button you get used to, even though it’s annoying to cancel
Great review. I test rode the KTM 1290 a year ago and couldn't get on with any of the switch gear especially the indicator switch and menu toggle. Felt awkward and difficult to operate with gloves. Tried the new KTM 990 duke and its much better.
The indicator thing took me few times to figure it out, not an issue anymore. And l leave the dashboard dark always (l like it better) So far great bike indeed
Hi Kate enjoyed your final assessment, but I have to ask the question, if you could have a KTM 1290 adventure would you choose it over a 1250 GS / GSA, and I can tell you, you made me panic when you switched the engine off when I thought you had lost your transponder key fob, ha-ha. Thank you.
I was shouting at the PC "don't switch the engine off, whatever you do don't switch the engine off...". Luckily that emergency key you keep about your person wasn't needed. ;~)
What about the wobbling? And Hey don't worry about the drop in the beginning of the video it happens to everyone when caught unfocused, It's lovely to feel your enthusiasm When you ride.🎉
I have noticed when riding with my heated clothing, the TFT likes to throw up a warning saying key not present, think it definitely has something to do with the heated clothing on mine, were you yourself wearing any heated clothing on this day?
Love the humor you slide in, todays post with the tee shirt👍. Looks like a good bike are the KTMs as glitchy and more maintenance prone as I’ve heard about?
2013 690duke=36k+ miles of trouble free smiles, 2015 1290sdr= 49k+ miles of trouble free really big smiles, now on a 2020 790s with 32k+ miles of trouble free smiles and counting !
@Bill Van Raam I've been servicing bikes for a bit over 50yrs, the 690duke I checked the valves 4 times they were all in the middle of the parameters, on my 1290sdr I checked them 5 times and they were exactly in the middle of the parameters, so far the 790s is the same after 3 check's.. These new bikes are pretty much bullet proof as long as you don't abuse them, I love clicking through the gears, power wheelies and sliding around leaving black marks, but I don't take it or hold it at Rev the limiter, they love too be ridden!!! Join us for the fun 😎
Mitas tires! the worst for mud and rain, avoid them! I had maxis tires on my cfmoto 800mt and were 10 times better. Now I put next 2 and it is so good tire.
Nice summery Kate. Guess your getting good at 3 digits less to type with. Hope the healing is going well and too many nerves there that can make one yell.
Adventure bikes my arse. Your spill in the car park demonstrates the fact that this is a road bike. If you're going anywhere near mud or gravel then knoblies and crash bars are essential.
Ooppss.. always the case. Go for a big ride and some at speed, no problem. Get back near home or like you just in a car park. And Bong. Drop the bike. Or my case crash it 😂 Adaptive cruise control. Had that in a truck for a year. Love it. New truck doesn’t have it and I miss it. I’d love to try it on a bike. especially these days. Notices more cars break testing these days. Great video Kate.. KTM1290… ??? Not sure.. I’m getting rid of the Africa Twin… Going to go for the 1100 Rebel.. Give that a go ??? 👍👍 ❤️
Hey Everyone, this vlog was filmed mid last year, only just got round to releasing it 😊 I hope you enjoy it!!
Hello Kate how are you doing today hope you are feeling better soon looking forward to seeing you on a sportsbike soon in new leathers and a new swanky helmet and dark visor ride safe lovely 😂
The worst thing about dropping it is when someone is watching. 😊 you got right back at it!

Those south dakot twisties are nice indeed.
Coming from a Tenere, everything is high performance

If KTM’s keyless system is like Harleys, turning the bike off when you think you’ve left the key behind probably isn’t the best idea! 😊
Yeah i had other things going on up there in my brain lol

230 miles..? I guess at very relaxed pace…🧘🏻♂️
No high speed wobble? Got a sportbike now?
I really thought I'd like digital dashes when they came out but I just don't. I much prefer my dials on the 'busa. Gives me at a glance situational awareness. I guess it's just what I'm used to after 35 plus years of riding.
Your right the screens look cheap.... I have a 22 Busa and love the dials.... pretty soon they will have a lap top mounted on the bars... lol.
It’s all part of character building Kate. Get knocked down but get right back up again, with a smile on the face.👍

Thanks for an honest review of the KTM
the important thing is to keep the spirit, continue to work very well, high quality and always think positively, I am very happy to see you
The indicator thing took me few times to figure it out, not an issue anymore. And l leave the dashboard dark always (l like it better) So far great bike indeed
I'm the same with indicators, keep checking I've cancelled several times a minute LOL.
I feel like I need therapy for it to be honest 🤣
Thanks.

No heated clothing that day but that's interesting!
That's 100% not your in any way at all. You landed it nicely and didn't hurt yourself that was a win for Kate
Just bought a 23 reg, what a ridiculous missile of a thing.
OK Kate, which bike would you have the KTM 1290 or BMW 1250gs?
You have a warning light on, why don't you clear it?
because it didn't particularly bother me if I'm being honest.
@@UsernameKate all you have to do is hit the back button. What was the warning?
key battery low

When you stopped to find your key, and turned the engine off, could the bike have been re-started if you didn't have the key with you ?
No 🤣 I'm not the brightest haha
@@UsernameKate I'm not sure, try it on your GS. Maybe you can as long as the ignition hasn't been turned off.
So how do you think the KTM adv S stacks up against the GS, particularly for the…. Let’s say, less lanky rider? 🙂
BOSS😊

Old video 😊
But would you swap it for your gs ?
Ok 👍👌 Kate 😢
Not surprised at all. My scooters got more off-road looking tires than that bike and that bikes built for off-road 😅
oh dear!...how much did you pay for the scratches on the bike?
Nothing thankfully as its a manufacturer bike and they see a lot worse damage from the actual journos
Chicks on adventure bikes. Cool.
👍
ITS TIME TO UPGRADE MY GS. THINKING OF A SUPER ADVENTURE 🤔
Road tyres and mud = bad 🤷♂️ P.S. it likes the key in your left pocket, as the sensor is in front of you in the left.
Of course but sometimes you don't have a choice when its a bike provided for a shoot lol and interestingggg good to know!
why start in the mud pit with road tires
Because I wasn't bloody pushing it up the mud hill 🤣🤣 also, we didn't realise the shooting location was gonna be so muddy.
@@UsernameKate Bloody shit walk, sorry you dropped it K. Loved the vid as always :)

If you dropped a multi-Strada V4, you would’ve probably broken the fins off. About a £1000 worth of damage .
She's making a habit of dropping bikes....and blaming everything but her poor riding skills.
Its the tires
3:38 In our dreams! 🤣🤣
Sorry... 👀👀
All the cool people "can't ride a bike" I've heard! They crash well don't they 😂
Crash exceptionally well!!

You played with Mr gibbon
It wasn't me that played with Mr Gibbon, it was my partner Mike. www.twitch.tv/mike_pye - he is on a lot of my videos too :)
The problem with KTM - they think everybody is tall.
Handled better than i can handle road tyres off road lol. I go off road and poo...
Glad to hear the bulge in your pocket was your key 😂

Can we add "dithering dilbert" to the dictionary.
You know what annoys me? People that review bikes and can't use the correct terms. ACC. Adaptive cruise control not active cruise control. 😵💫
Worse things going on in the world Travis 🤣
Slower than last time 🤣🤣
