Happy Fourth of July!
Congrats you're this week's winner. DM on IG
That's crazy ur GR is literally the 2024 version. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
Probably the most honesty owner review out there yet.
Thanks
The wrap you have on it is badass along with those rims, love the review and look of your corolla gr. Want one so bad, but have to stick with my xse 😪
Gotta respect the honest review.
Nice review, Anthony! Looking forward to spending more time with mine.
Congratulations again on your pick-up!
Great six month review. We can't wait till you do the long term review.
You and me both!
Great review brother, I feel like you were extremely honest with your review.
Thanks for watching! I tried not to be too biased on my opinions
@@antdo You're welcome brother and you can tell you did a great job.
A very solid and honest review.
Thanks
Been loving mine now for like 5 months
Great review babe!
Thanks! ❤️
Thanks for the input!
No problem!
I agree with the seatbelt chime, Toyota needs to change that.
Yeah it's terrible!
Happy 4th of July. I'm still waiting for my GR Corolla..
Beautiful color though, looks awesome 😎 Happy 4th of July 🙌🏿
Great review
When I finally win the Lottery, I'm a buy a GR Corolla Brand new from the dealership full cash buy out. I'm not dreaming, I'm being for real. I want the Blue color.
Love the rims bro!
Thanks!🙏🏼
Happy 4th of July!
That NSX wow!
15:16 quick fix for an annoying seat belt chime = buy a seat belt extender and leave it connected permanently. No more chime
Your normal seatbelt then plugs into the extender.
I can attest I got my circuit for msrp it’s possible just buy from a Toyota dealership not a franchise
What area are you in? And how can you tell apart a Toyota dealership from a franchise?
i love this car!! so cool do you think it will last a long time with it being a 3cylinder ? cause ill prob have to get a used one after the hype calms down a bit
Happy fourth of July
New to the channel, thank you for the review. You were able to get the car at MSRP? Did you have to negotiate that or the dealer wasn't asking for a mark up?
Awesome Video man, I just ordered the Circuit edition as well ! After watching the video, I’m really surprised how small the trunk is! And also I drive a Focus rs as well , there’s no rear differential heating problems at all. After drifting on track for 10+ laps. 😅😅
It just make me rethinking my decision, cause I thought this GR Corolla will be a good daily car, with the decent quality and space 😢
i call BS , these cars dont drift .
@@bigbodykarate6403yes they do, you just can’t get it to break traction under its own power. You have to break traction with the hand brake.
Happy 4th of July
how would you compare it to your STI?
I like Honda type r Lf5 besides markups are crazy almost. 20 thousand in California..im on your shoes .. same I want a awd car I just got my corolla gr circuit…. I love ur blue grc.. happy 4 July….
Oh and you can turn off the seatbelt chime with a computer hooked to it, dealerships have it and you can turn it off.
Type R definitely better on the track out the box. As a daily driver though, this is probably funner imo.
Civic Si is the Honda to get as a daily.
The Circuit Edition GR Corolla would be too much mayhe for daily drives as the suspension might me stiff
@1anre I have a core edition with the PP. It's so fun I don't even care how rough the suspension is tbh. But everyone has different priorities. I'm sure for some people with longer commutes on streets it might be awful for them.
i love ur body color spoiler~ is urs a curcuit edition?
Thank you. No it's a core
Love this car! What ever happened to your badass fa5?
Thank you! I sold it shortly after Super Street FF Battle
Question does the clutch in the Corolla GR have about 3 inches of play before it engages?
Hello Anthony I have a 2020 E210 Hatchback. My exterior color is black. It wasn’t my first pick of Color. My question is this. When your car got wrapped in the blue how far did you go into the jams? Or do you have video of that?
It's just in a tad bit. Enough not to see from the outside. Other than that the door jams are still black.
Hey, I'm split on the Golf R and the GRC, I'm 32 ya know getting older but I want a fun hatch but maybe I should be thinking about the future (and my back), why did you pick this over the Golf R?
Type R has an extra cylinder, and awd is more practical for every day
@GrVinB0 WRX has both an extra cylinder AND awd! :) Having said that, I am a car guy. Even though I bought the wrx, I love the type r and gr corolla as well. Wish I could own them all.
@@steve8803 you just spoke to my soul lol. wanted a type R but needed awd. looked at the corolla but wanted 4 cylinders and dealer markup was insane, got a 22 wrx limited for 7k under msrp XD
Sure, and 20-30k more expensive. 😁
Does anyone have a link to order the Wing, and the hood the way you have it set up here. I’m not sure Toyota will ever offer those as an option, and I’m ok with going aftermarket.
Would you upgrade to the Circuit edition or go for the GR86 as an alternative?
I wouldn't upgrade to a CE seeing as how the two main components i want from it I can just buy from the dealership (Hood & Spoiler). But as far as going to a GR86 I don't know. Those two are in two completely different classes.
I drive a manual before but it’s like 15yrs ago. It was a 90 corolla. Driving again a manual feels a little nervous I might stall many times on road especially winter. I don’t know also doing the heel toe technique. Question is that IMT will help me not to stall the car?
No, the iMT won't help with stalling. But the car itself is pretty forgiving. As long as you just aren't dumping the clutch it won't stall. I taught my wife in this car and she didn't once.
What size wheels are those, they look perfect man. Been thinking for months what to put on my GRC.
18x9.5 +22
Thanks for the video. What are those wheels on your GR corolla?
No problem!👍
They are TE37 SL
how did u hook up the upper part of the trunk net? are there any silver rings for u to hook up with?
No silver rings. Just some plastic tabs
Can u fit 3 slim on the back seats?
I LOVE black sports car for the majority of cars HOWEVER I think the black on the GR Corolla doesn’t work for me. It hides too many of the details because the vents are also black and this is especially relevant with the Circuit Edition because of the carbon fiber roof and hood vents.
That being said…I don’t like the gloss black venting and I’m undecided if I would prefer a satin finish on them along with the spoiler. In the USA I think you also have a gloss black grille and rear which I wouldn’t be a fan of but I haven’t seen it in person.
I have a GR Corolla Circuit Edition here in Canada in Red but I may like the gray the best
Using the GRC as a DD, It took me time to fully appreciate that Black is the best sleeper color. I'd already have a speeding ticket if mine was white or red. I'm even hesitant to upgrade the wing as it would blow my cover haaha
@@dgnwd 😂 I can see how adding extra spoilers and other things will bring more attention to your car. I’m assuming you have a core edition? I think the circuit edition has already blown its cover with the additional hood bulge and vents along with the spoiler. That being said, it still does look quite “understated” when compared to some other cars. I have a super sonic, red, GRC circuit edition, and I don’t really get noticed unless somebody knows what they’re looking at.
Wow, you were able to get your hands on a Circuit Edition here?
Which Toyota dealership sorted you out on this, how much did you pay, & how long did you wait for ordering to getting the car?
@dgnwd how does the shifting feel while hitting traffic spots and stop and go traffic?
Does it have am auto rev match and hill assist like the Civic Si?
@@1anre I got mine in Ontario and it was a total fluke that we got one. They ran up the bill a bit with all the warranties and extras but even paying that it’s way less than markups on regular used cars so it wasn’t too hard a decision.
I’m Canada Toyota Canada says you have 60 days to return their extended warranties so I’ll be getting that money back…minus the $100 admin fee. I still have to process the paperwork so hopefully they don’t put up a fight because those are the rules in Canada and I confirmed with 2 different reps.
There isn’t an option for hill assist that I’m aware of BUT it does hold on a hill when you let off the brake for like 1/2 a second before rolling back and that’s enough time to transition. Plus the manual e-brake is there just in case you’re in a tricky situation.
Yes there’s a button you have to press every time you start the car if you want auto rev matching.
In the market for a new car looking about 1-2 years out. Heavily debating an Si or the GR Corolla, obviously The type R would be the ideal dream vehicle but from the standpoint of being a practical daily the Si and GR Corolla are more appealing. Integra Type S would be great too but not in love with the price point.
You just named 3 cars from entirely different segments 😅
The si isnt in the league of the GR or FL8 R ...you want an Si? Go get an elantra N. Wayyyy faster than the Si
If you’re after driving experience, I test drove the integra type S and preferred my basic ass manual 2019 Corolla hatch XSE.
Type S felt like a boat in comparison.
Which really surprised me after all the reviews.
U have the heated wipers without the heated steering wheel? I thought those were part of the same package
No the weather package is only Heated steering wheel and heated seats
Respect! @ 16:09
So doppeeeeeeeee
Just ordered a circuit. They said it’ll take 9-18 months 😢.
Jeez hopefully it comes in sooner. What color did you order?
yep, piano black easily scratches. Worth it to wrap unless you like polishing all the time.
Factory is definitely way too stiff feeling. I agree
Personally, I prefer auto rev match default off. What they should do is let you pick the default by making your choice and long press the button to keep it. Nice video though!
Man almost all videos pointing at the CTR being far better for the price kinda makes me regret buying my GRCCE...
After watching these videos. I feel like the type r is a better choice.. I'll keep waiting until the car market cools down. Nobody is doing msrp on those yet...
Nsx would be a dream… but here in germany - 100k for a clean one 😅 i‘ll rather stay with my 04‘ wrx i think😅😂
great truck
Rica etsem altyazı seçeneklerine Türkçe dil seçeneği ekleyebilir misiniz ? Sizi anlamak ve takip etmek istiyorum !!!
How did you get a 24 6 months ago???
It's a 2023
@@antdooh I see you wrapped it. Looks fantastic I thought it was oem
Are you in Texas?
Yes I'm in the Houston Area.
I was VERY interested in the car, but it seems like car is not up to track duty.
Anthony, have you raced any scat packs? If so, what was the outcome?
The armrest is a deal breaker
I've had the GR for a few months now. I have mixed feelings.
like what?
Why
damn bro. plz tell.
@@richurro20 I think my issue with the GR is that I also have an FL5 and it just feels superior to the GR for the same money. The GR is like an Evo 8 or 9. Very light, capable nimble fast car. But the stereo and interior feel is on the plasticky side. The seats also are not too good and the seating position a bit too high.
@@kwasonthekid6694 I don't like the stereo, seats, and seating position is too high for my liking.
Fuel economy over the last 6-months? I guess 8-months now in October. Haha
I mainly do city driving. I avg about 21mpg give or take.
@@antdo Right around epa. 🤙 for comparison my Fiesta does 24 when I’m ginger, and usually around 22mpg when driving like an ass. City as well
Why buy a Core and turn it into a Circuit? I bought a CIrcuit, so now I'm going to remove the rear seat and turn it into a Morizo! lol. I bought a GRC over the CTR because, in part, the Honda flaming red velour interior. Plus, several reviews liked the GRC better on the street over the CTR and think it's more fun. I'm not a track guy. If I were a track guy I'd cough up $700 to drive Porches around the Atlanta speedway.
If you like the type r more you can always just give me the corolla
😂😂😂
So funny I forgot to laugh....
Wow someone doesn't know how to listen 🤦♂️
same here...that Type R looks so juvenile and stupid lol
Same here!!! Then I can sell this pos 3 cylinder high compression blown engine f boy car for a real man car! Lol
Markups aside, It's important to note the Type R's starting price is $8,000 over the GRC's starting price. Cost is a big factor for people interested in this tier of 'sports' cars. But imo they don't seem to attract the same type of hot hatch buyer, since it feels like Toyota and Honda had very different goals/ethos in mind for these 2 cars. Rally vs Track, Fun vs Refinement, Generalist vs Specialist, Fake engine noise vs Real engine noise (I kid...). Drive what makes you happy and if that's quicker lap times, get the FL5 ;)
Which is the Refined Specialist?
FARVA called and wants his 1.3Liters of cola back
Absolutely love my gr corolla. I'm glad that the IMT is auto off, but I know how to drive a manual. I do wish it defaulted to 50/50 and not 60/40
Knowing how to drive manual and having iMT has nothing to do with each other 🤦🏻
Yes, it does. I've been driving manuals my entire life. I don't like when I computer "tries" to do it for me. It never does it quite right. Especially on a track.
It's like saying you don't need AC because you can roll your windows down. Or you don't need power seats because you can move it yourself. Just because newer technocgly comes out, that meants we shouldn't use it becuae we can do it ourselves?? Honestly sounlds like you would never even track your car anyways.
@alex.n22 lol, if you say so, I've taken all my cars racing either drag or circuit. My supra Has spent more time I think on a track than it has been on the free way.
"mainly a track car" proceeds to show the baby seat.
😂
Yeah because you can't put kids seat in a car you take to the track 🤦♂️
Civic type Rs are 20k more out the door where in from lmao. Although I’ve heard great things about the type R, it’s not $20,000 better than this car from what I’ve seen.
Get the New Golf R its more power .faster than Gr corolla and also its comfortable for daily driving plus there’s a drift mode.really fun car.👍👍
How's its gearbox? Is it better than the GTI's atrocious 6-speed?
@@1anre I haven’t driven the 6speed manual but i saw the good reviews about 6speed..but I really like the 7speed DSG dual clutch it’s lightning quick and faster.
Get on with it
Looks better with a black wing imo, other than that love the build
Na it would look unfinished with a black wing. It would look like how Subaru made the fender flares black on the wrx. Or like an old cx Honda with black door handles and mirrors.
They trying to appease the general driver is why they don't go straight track tires... though id argue the ones they put are pretty much that anyways... but all stock car tires suck, I haven't seen a vehicle yet that has had good ones from factory...
Morizo edition literally comes with Cup 2 tires. Hell my IS500 comes with 280 treadwear tires. Even has a warning label stating tires are not to exceed 10k miles. Plenty of cars are offered with summer tires that are way better than what the GR Corolla core and circuit comes with. Only somone who doesn't know anything about cars would thing manfuatures don't offer cars with extreme summer tires...
@@alex.n22 welp guess gr needs some new shoes right away 🙃
GR > Type R!
U from SCR Pearland?
9:55 Anyone that wants a sedan needs to gtfo. Hatchbacks or wagons are the only way to go
this is a rally car that was made for the public the ride will not be smooth rally cars are harsh you feel every bumps
This is not a rally car made for the road. That is the GR Yaris. This was a road car that was fitted with that car's drive train. And FYI. Evo and STi are no where near as harsh of a ride as this car is.
Put 20,000 miles on it, then make a review, it blows my mind that people put so much money into a car and don’t drive it. The Fiesta Flash
Talk about pointless. There is nothing that he would figure out at 20k miles that he can't figure out at 2k miles
he tracks his car and you drive a fiesta my dude.
takes the first 5min saying he doesnt like the car... why did you buy it then lol
Listening is hard for you huh?
@@antdo 1st grade basics is hard for most kids nowadays LOL
Should have bought a Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor, it would beat the Corolla in every aspect and your kid would have more legroom, probably cheaper than the Corolla.
lol no one buying a gr corolla wants a tesla
Go away Tesla dork. People who like to drive would never consider a Tesla
Don’t know, can’t see why a man will want a Corolla.
You are probably one of those people that buy an F250 Super Duty just to drive to the grocery store.
Says the kid who has no car...
