Being a brave rider isn't about having no fear, it is about having a healthy fear, but doing it anyways.
☝️this. bravery without fear is just stupidity
Everyone was slow once upon a time. Even the most badass guy at the track. No matter how fast you are, there will always be someone faster. Once you forget about going fast and start to have fun, you actually go much faster. Track days are the most fun on two wheels. No road will ever compare.
@@michaelmurdock4607 don't know what tracks are around you but in Cape Town they accept all bikes as long as it passes the standard safety checks and is not too loud.
As someone who has been street riding for 30 years and only discovered track riding 3 years ago , there are 3 things you can only learn on a track ,your limits ,your bikes limits and how to get quicker in a short amount of time.
The Track is where it's at!
Too many guys try to go fast on the road, and come undone.
The further you look ahead and the more relaxed you are, the faster you go.
Couldnt agree more.. been a sporty streetrossi for 5 years untill last spring..
After my first trackday i sold all my streetbikes and become a track only rider!
Best decision ever.
Just the inspiration needed to go find a track toy 😉great video!
That joke at the start got me good :D
Nice vid, keep it up :)
A big part a being fast after learning techniques is blocking out fear and letting skill and knowledge take over.
nice point!
I was very slow when I started doing supermoto. Switch between all disciplines and in 1 year you will be one of the fastest guys at the track. I promise.
I have small videos of my progression at the track. I don’t put the same effort
Of making videos like you, but you can see the progress
I had been riding bikes for around 25 years when I started Flying lessons. After I overcame my initial fear of very effectively ending my life prematurely and settled down somewhat, my very experienced instructor asked if I rode motorbikes. He commented that I was flying like a rider SHOULD ride a bike - smoothly and gracefully - like a ballet (I went “solo” after a surprisingly very few hours an immediately gained my Aerobatic endorsement - again because of flying at appropriate speeds and smoothly in the manoeuvres). I rode bikes because of the feeling of freedom and enjoyed smoothly entering and exiting corners on the best line, on every ride - always being rapidly overtaken by the “organ donors”. But after every ride I felt (in my 70’s I still do) completely refreshed and rejuvenated - not tired, sweaty and still shaking - and the funny thing is, the “organ donors” generally only arrived at the “watering hole” a minute or two before me. I always felt that riding at a sensible speed was far more enjoyable that busting a gut to be a temporary hero (although I do admit to giving my Ducati a bit if a “work-out” in my earlier riding days 😜). Ride at the speed that gives you the most pleasurable experience and to hell with what anyone else thinks.
It's a shame but race track access costs about 10 x more in New Zealand than SA making it more exclusive than golf.
And that’s why I bought a 390 Duke. After a break from riding I figured it was best to get back by going back to basics and relearning.
Go slow, to go fast. Just like work smart, you can never do work smart - without working hard in the first place.
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. This quote is extremely applicable to riding. When you put yourself in a true zen "I'm going to ride slow today" mindset, that's when you find yourself destroying your favorite road.
Im stoked to be able to ride off road this next season. Im gonna be so bad but i already have future goals of getting good enough to do eventually 😊
I love risking my life on every corner pinned wide open & the engine roaring.
I ride a 200cc cruiser as my daily, and it is all the bike I need. I've riden much faster bikes, but this little bike is perfect for commuting, and great for learning a lot of lessons, sometimes hard ones.
Fellow slow rider here. Track riding on supermoto is super fun. They are not stupid fast so you can really crack open the throttle, if you crash there is not much that can break and wheels sliding are fun. No fast rider with self esteem will ever mock you for being slow, if anything, they will help you with your mistakes.
To anyone reading this, that hasn't been on a track before - give it a try, if you like riding, you wont regret it
Me looking around on my tiny island hoping to see a race track 🌛🌜😔
I envy slow riders . You guys can enjoy the ride without going crazy speeds . It's much safer as well
The track is a great place. And riding different disciplines is a good skill building. I’d wish I’d started doing both when I was younger on a slow bike- and learn how to ride fast on a slow bike.
Benoni track is awesome!
Used to gokart there.

Stop caring about what others think. Stop worrying about getting in ppls way. If they're faster then they'll get around you. Get an instructor to help you. No one is fast right out of the gate and no one is gonna judge you for being slow. Us track riders just want you to keep coming to the track
And here i sit with a navicular fracture and have been stuck with a cast for 10 and a half weeks. All i want is to go out and ride
Bro, you make very good videos.
Excellent Advice!
After owning a ninja and supermoto, I love my grom!! I daily the grom
I got the cbr-125r and i'm getting the license in a couple of months
Captain Slow come to my mind when you said "incredibly slowly" and "slow rider" 😂😀
(in case anyone don't know who's Captain Slow, it a nickname given to James May in TV prog Top Gear, because he drive slowly compare to two other presenters)
Holishiet thats some wisdoms right there ❤️
The fast guys just want you to be predictable, so that they can get around you safely with enought space to not freak you out.
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast
Try a trials bike
The only fix to being slow is a Turbo Busa, so quit dreaming of going fast, just go faster 1 mile at a time :D
i'm a slow rider, my daily ride speed was 60-80 Km/h and i rode a slow bike a pulsar 200ns
In the philippines, the pulsar is called as rouser.
The first step in becoming a better rider is having enough money to buy a bunch of bikes.
🙂
"It doesn't matter to what track because their all fun" wait, what track does he talk about? #NoTrackInReach
Love it bro
