      Don't let end of life stop you. Excuses, excuses, excuses.
      Is your guitar set up for this type of speed playing? Big frets (SRV used bass frets on his Strats btw), flat fingetboard? Big jazz picks. Picks make a big difference in skill acquisition. I use Dunlop 2.0 only because they don't manufacture 2.5's any longer. And, I drill many tiny holes for superb grip. These picks taught me to just tickle or tap the top 1/2 of the string. Improved accuracy. Hold/strap your guitar high up on your body like this man. So many little things mattet including a sensitive tube amp.
      Remember, you are also influencing and playing the amp as a separate instrument.
      Rock on.

      @gregorydavidson177 Год назад

      @@MrJohnnyDistortion I doubt it. My guitar is a Gibson firebird. So that's probably why it's harder to do.

      I concur. You need a different instrument suited to a different type of articulation.

      @gregorydavidson177 Год назад

      @@MrJohnnyDistortionright! I understand! And the type of music I really get into, the style I would play, is more of the stoner metal, like corrosion of conformity, clutch, Down, which really doesn't incorporate this type of playing in their music, but I would still love to be capable of playing like this, and all styles of guitar. The more you know, the more broad your writing and composition can be. I have been thinking a lot here lately about purchasing a strat, and probably will get one sooner or later. I just don't want to be limited to one specific style.

    Nonsense. You need to explain exactly what you are trying to convey instead of saying..."If you don't know, you can .....just look it up"...well we are looking at you and you can't even explain it yourself..which tells me you picked it up from someone else without really knowing exactly what it is. I suggest you watch a Scott Henderson Video...the Master....who actually explains wht he is trying to "Convey to other people"...get it ?

    • @oneeyemonster3262
      @oneeyemonster3262 5 лет назад

      it's just different sequence...follow SIMPLE instructions.
      2 FFFFken strings at a time.
      He said G harmonic minor..That's the D7 as in D phrygian DOMINANT.
      Play Up to the 5th ..it's actaully BASIC sheit..if you study music theory...
      Breaking scales in half...If you mix match that....you'll basically get
      different modes...
      He wont give exact notes...becuase there's Bastards like me that knows
      10-ea different scales ( 70-ea different modes) of the 7 notes scales..
      which will give every possible 7 notes intervals within the 12 notes..
      Becuase I'll play the D mix b2....instead of the mix b2, b6...
      It's from the G Harmonic MAJOR scale...
      D7 into G MAJOR or G minor....but Im modualting it's
      still D major or D7 into G......Im still going to harmonize over the D7 chord. oki doke.
      so i can play the B , C and D at the 7th fret too.lmao..
      Shiet..I'll do C dim D maj into G min...too...all day long.
      or even this...A, 4, 6, Bb, 4, 6, C, 4, 6...D, 4, b6
      (they're all notes from G Melodic minor)
      F$#@K it....One note on the lower strings work for me too...lmao
      if you cant play...freaking ONE note on a string dunn be doing 3 on 4 on a string.
      KEEP it simple STUPID.
      i do shiet backwrds...just for kicks....but it still the same concept...
      You only need to play ONE on the top string.....The way he's showng.
      It's not right or wrong..it's incase you have a BRAIN FART or your eyes
      freak out...or loose track of the fret board for a sec..it's to buy you TIME
      without sounding like shit...or get back into the groove again.
