Danke für den tollen Überblick. Ich lese gerne die Untertitel in deinen Videos und finde die optionale Lösung eine gute Idee. Freue mich auch schon auf den zweiten Teil!
Bow Church Light Rail station is amazing with the blue poles holding the lights and electronic destination boards. That's part of the list for my trip.
Harish's Suburban Railways the only problem is it’s a bit far out from central London, I’m not talking edge of the city but it is definitely suburbs, it’s currently in zone 2 (zone 1 being central and 9 being furthest away from London, zone 6 being the last zone in London before going into the Home Counties)
Deine Videos haben eine sehr gute Qualitat! Vielen Dank fur das! My German is really bad at the point, but thank you for sharing this :) Greetings from Russia!
@@milkandduckrailway323 While I agree that having a computer close the doors is less than ideal, it's done in several systems including the Vancouver Skytrain and a number of airport people mover systems. So it can absolutely be done
The staff on the train check that passengers have paid, operate the doors and are there for customer service. Also they are there to help in first aid situations, deal with intoxicated people etc... And to also report any faults or dangers. If the automated system fails, then the staff member drives the train. As above, they also get paid less than a train driver for say the underground. Automated systems allow for more frequent trains.
Overpaid train drivers tend to go on strike to hold the city tor ransom. Automated trains will stop this and its about time we upgrade our trains to be driver less.
3:19 it shows part of a DLR map and mentions Bow Church as being an interchange/near Bow Road LU (District/H&C) station. Canary Wharf is also served by the Jubilee Line extension, but people are encouraged to use Heron Quays(?) to change to that line because it's nearer.
TheRenaissanceman65 I'm not meaning national rail I'm meaning the tube as tower gateway is shown as an interchange to the district and circle lines at tower hill on the tube map. Also Canning Town is an interchange with the Jubilee Line as well
No! You can't have one very long carriage in a train because trains're designed to pull carriages. They're actually 6 carriages and you can't have an articulated section in the middle of the carriage. Your explanation doesn't show us how train carriages work.
Do your research, each DLR trainset (EMU) consists of 2 or 3 articulated interconnected carriages. I'm a regular traveler and there are are announcements about going to the centre for some short platforms. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Docklands_Light_Railway_rolling_stock
I travelled from Island Gardens to Lewisham yesterday. If you enter the second door, the articulation (when the train takes bends) can be seen as a circle on the even floor. Visually the adjoining top and bottom of this circle (carriage back and front) twist and turn, but I reckon most people (like yourself TIA) never notice or realise.
No, actually I was looking for Docklands Architecture, I wasn't aware that I suddenly should find myself in the midst of some train enthusiasts - ENTSCHULDIGUNG !
I went on the DLR back in 2014, great system and trains
Ich war vor kurzem erst da, und obwohl es meine dritte Reise nach London war, fasziniert mich die DLR immer wieder.

wieder ein klasse Video von Dir :) Daumen hoch
Hope the newly built Montreal REM Light Rail will look similar to the DLR!
the next train approching platform 2 is delayed please listen for further annoucement.
i often hear on the wireless that the DLR is suspended due to signalling problems....... so whos supposed to see the signals???
Great video, Luftschlange! Greetings from England :)
DLR
You must;ve been there for HOURS. ik the DLR is like 1 train every 10 min
And on the overground it's every 15 minutes
One day, i will be there
Ich finde die DLR ziemlich interessant
i want to do training for DLR awareness certification where which training center offers this training
Guard? I'm sure now in 2016 they have withdrawn them - or maybe they haven't?

Where is the advantage of a driverless train, if you need staff to operate the doors in each train?
you pay them less
The staff on the train check that passengers have paid, operate the doors and are there for customer service. Also they are there to help in first aid situations, deal with intoxicated people etc... And to also report any faults or dangers. If the automated system fails, then the staff member drives the train. As above, they also get paid less than a train driver for say the underground. Worin besteht der Vorteil des eingesparten Fahrers, wenn man stattdessen eine Person für die Türen braucht?
sorry, dachte Luftschlange wäre Deutscher... :)
Where do you pay to get on?
The entrance
Is there a driver on these trains or are they automatic?
+ChinaAl They are automatic; no driver.
Amazing. On one of the trains I thought I saw a guard closing the doors though.
Thanks for the info
There is a guard, but they do not drive the train unless there is a problem, they just operate the doors.
Thanks
But they don’t need to operate the door thou
this is more like MRT in Singapore, driverless!
Is the DLR connected with the heavy metro line?
Nah, I'm pretty sure the tracks and everything are different. There are interchange stations though
While the DLR Interchanges with Natonal Rail,London Underground/Overground there is no Track connection. The DLR is its own self contained system.

6:39: "trains are formed of three carriages" YOU LIAR! - The longest trains have 110 coaches.
Tima the Artifical Intelligence they are 3 carriages with articulated (bendy) middles
It's a shame your intelligence is artificial.

OMG! I know you are British, but does it really have to be this boring?
Thomgxx100 Sorry to have bored you. Maybe this channel isn’t for you then, I’m sure there are others you’ll find more interesting.

Don't waste your time hating, if your not a train spotter, move along
Northstar who are you calling boring when your searching for architecture. That word alone bores me
