Colonel Jhon, more than fun, he recognized you as an awesome marine engineer and gave you that metal. How could I forget those days. Wow, your wife produced an amazing meal, absolutely amazing !

A Doctor that makes boat calls, yet in Canada you can't even find a Doctor!! lol
Hope everything works out Rick!
Yep, hard to imagine that anywhere else! Lol
Canada has killed the medical profession with a single pay system . Medical care is free but not available in most cases until it is too late to matter. You see when the public funds run out care also runs out .
And Yes, may God absolutely give the surgeon grace and Capt'n Rick excellent results: Live long and prosper Rick!
Colonel John’s new business is perfect for him. I bet he’s got stories for days . 🙏🙏good luck on your surgery Rick.
Piece of cake you’ll be up and back at it in no time captain 👍⛵️
Hope so! :)
Hi Guys. Obviously this is in the past tense for you Rick and family. So you will have had your surgery. From one sailor, RUclips'r and family man to another.... Take it easy. Recover first YT second. My new heart valve and aneurysm repair is now two years ago but it took time for us all to adjust. Meds, tests and being apprehensive of the future will have a personal and mental impact. Stay strong and put faith in those around you. Remember that in addition to those near to you there are also those not so near that are wishing you well supporting you from afar and sending you positive thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid xx
Thanks so much guys! :)

I have Crohn’s Disease and after my intestine operations I drank a lot of Chocolate Insure. It will help give you the needed nutrition you need on a liquid diet. I wish you the best on your operation.
Speedy recovery rick❤
Thanks mate!
Nissen fundoplication. I had that surgery about 10 years ago. Life changing. I had severe heartburn from a hiatal hernia and probably would have let to Barrett's disease, kinda funny since that's my name, which is basically throat cancer. A couple of side effects that were not told to me are that I can no longer burp nor throw up. Also I have to be careful about the volume of food that I swallow. If I try to swallow too much at one time it will get stuck and that hurts. Eventually if I shift my torso in different positions it seems to pass. I was told the procedure would only last for about 6-8 years, but mine is still going strong. Best of luck Captain!!!
Hope everything goes great, Have a great day.
Get well soon Cap'n Rick.
I got the same surgery a few years ago and now no antacid pills ever again. After taking them for almost 20 years. Recovery is rough but so glad I got it done. Stick to the liquid diet otherwsie youll pay for it with alot of pain. Good luck!
My aunt had this surgery in Victoria BC and it didn’t work with a crap. Rick your best bet is to start taking Nexium once a day. I have Esophagus Reflux and take Nexium every morning and it’s working good.
I've been taking esomaprazol but this is supposed to be a permanent solution.. fingers crossed!
@@SailingSophisticatedLady it’s a good choice having the surgery, taking those meds can have more serious problems in the long run, hope the surgery goes smooth and you recover soon 🌷
Taking Nexium long term can give you a whole new set of problems in the long run… do your research, see how it affects the kidneys and not to mention bone density… be aware 🌷
All the best with the op. You can still drink beer with a straw, it's not good but you will get a buzz doing it 😂😂
Hope went well Captain Rick
Hang in there Rick your almost back🍻🍻🍻
You will do fine Capitan
Fingers crossed!
Hope all went well.
1516 Right On guys!!
Capt'n Ron in Nova Scotia
Get well Canadian
Dude I would go back to Canada for this.
Rick we are with in here in NJ!!
Captain Rick. Best wishes. Once you done in Cartagena. With your surgery , Get out of the international tourist line. I’m a Colombian that lived all my live in New Jersey USA. Now came back to see how is life here in my country. Now living in TOLU. Where the local tourist come to get to the Archipielago of san Bernardo. I have a great friend in Santa Cruz del islote. She is the administrator. Oh same name hotel Santa Cruz. Also have some friends at isla Palma one of the many beautiful islands in the Archipielago.
As far as me. I’m a US Navy veteran. As a FLIGHT DECK HANDLER. And I got to steered the amphibious assault carrier ship on hurricane David 1979. Cat 5. So then I had to fall in love with the oceans. Lately in san Bernardo I had an experience like out of this world. Like Disney. Lost a Camara memory ship while snorkeling. 3 hours later. I’m like whet is it. 2 hours search nothing. Till I started talking to king Poseidon , then a baby fish ran out of its nest that was being attacked and parents defending it. And I fallowed it. To see him or her. Stop and wiggle wiggle on top of the memory chip. I’m in Heaven. Chip had photos of a cruise that I took my mom for her 80’th birthday. I can’t remember saving the photos. Poseidon also send a parade of many types of fish to thank me for cleaning out the reef for 5 days. Taking plastic bottles out from the bottom , a big problem in Colombia. Garbage. Bigger problem than the drugs. Our oceans our reefs the planet is in danger. As we know it. Just look at the intensity of the storms around here. Is a beautiful show at night. But very dangerous lightning. I been looking on a ship finder for SFL but no luck. Well. Welcome to the main land and best wishes on your surgery. Hey. Hey. I want some German beer.
Thanks for nice message, and glad you found your chip! If you make it to Hopulus in Bogota to try the German beer, be sure and tell Felipe we said hi!
Your in a place that has amazing fruit so I think you will be ok here in Oklahoma we don’t have the amazing fruits you have there I’ll pray all goes smoothly and you will be be able to eat and enjoy a nice spicy meal very soon
I had the same exact surgery a year ago via robotics. 5 holes in my tummy. I healed very fast & was eating oatmeal within a week. Fixed my issues. Good luck & greetings from the Old Jarhead in WNC
🙌🏼Health !!!!!
Cheers to that! :)

The mere suggestion that anything could go wrong is abhorent. Afterall, who would captain the Sophisticated Lady? Or raise little Ricky? It is without a doubt a nail-biter but rest assured if anything did happen we'd already know about it. So relax.
More to follow, sit tight! :)
Rick ya sure do look like your mama
Good luck with the surgery.
I know I would not like Hoplus, I don't like IPAs or any beer overloaded with hopes.
Don't do it!
You will forever regret having allowed them to cut on you.
Hi Rick, did the bicycle accident cause the hiatal hernia?
