Best n52 diy videos. I have been suffering from the infamous valve lifter noises for years due to short trips most of time. It is getting worse after using 5w40. I went back with castrol edge us 5w30 which is very low viscosity, reduced the lifter noise significantly. I will try mobile 1 0w30 which is even faster flow oil next oil change. Hopefully fix the annoying noise. It seems to be the thin oil reduces the lifter noise on my n52.
Your lifters are probably clogged. When I rebuilt my engine I sprayed brake clean in them to clear then out. Maybe an engine flush (where you drive 200kms on it) can help but if you car is burning oil, it could cause more oil burning😅. So your choice.
Thanks for the encouraging words. I do this for fun and I'm happy the videos can help people! I appreciate you are excited to see the next episodes! 🙏🏽
Very useful info. You are knowledgeable
Thanks very much.
@buildanddrive do you usually use liqui moly or other brand do you recommend?

nice job bro.
Thanks Odie 👍🏽
How do you ensure all the oil is drained from the drain pan since BMW stupidly put the drain plug where it is, same issue with ramps.
I put my car in ramps. Pull the drain plug, remove oil filter, jack up the driver's side of the car a little bit.
so u lift back side and put jack stand on front side?
That's what I do, yes. I keep the jackstand and the jack in place in case the jackstand fails, the rear jack will keep the car raised a bit
@@buildanddrive thats interesting, bc e90 is so low. If I lift only 1 side of car it's hard to go under and get drain plug.
Is there any benfefit why you use 5w40 instead of 5w30?
If you live in a hot climate then yes, or if your engine oil constantly reaches 110C, it offers better protection as the oil thins as it gets hotter
Thank you. so how much your e90 is burning oil now? mine is back to the old days :( I wish there is something to fix this ANNOYING issue
Its about 1700kms/1L
@@buildanddrive waaw so much improved
Yes but if I had drilled my pistons or used the new design, it would have improved to 1L/5000kms or more
@@buildanddrive so maybe you can rebuild your original engine with these modifications and see how it goes.
I don't want to spent another 1000$ and 40 hours labour to rebuild the old engine and swap it in 🙈
hey bro, waiting for your next upload 😐
I had to "slow down" and put on the 'brakes' during Christmas, so movie making has been slow

Lol
only! 😂 good informative bro, thanks man, keep up the good work ✌
I have a whole series filmed. All the maintenance covered. A rebuild series is not as relevant but these videos will be for all 3 series owners 👌🏽
Your rebuild series was brilliant. I'm sure it helped a lot of people out and that's the main thing. 💪
@@vincentcooray9269 do you own a BMW?
CHEERS✨!!! Don't get left behind > 🅿🆁🅾🅼🅾🆂🅼 !
Yeah bro
Liqui moly 👎👎👎
What's a better oil? I now use ROWE Synth RS 5w40
