I was stationed on the US Navy floating drydock AFDM-7 and I have to say that, while your animation is good, the construction of the drydock, mainly the ballast tanks is wholly inaccurate. The ballast tanks of a floating drydock are "L" shaped and extend under the main lifting deck. The flood valves are located well below the water line which allows for natural flooding of the ballast tanks. In your animation, the water would have to be pumped into the tanks and that's just not how its done.
yes i do agree but it gives quite a nice idea for people to understand who have never seen one. its difficult to make videos. i would say its a good job done. he missed about the double bottom☺😍 tank concept and just mentioned side tanks.
I've been opperating floating docks for the past 15 years. And this is far from correct. You better work on your resurch. 90% of the dallast tanks are below the water in the cason pontoon. The sides is mostly enpty to keep the boyency while submurged.
Great education, thanks 🙏
Superb explANATIONS.
Really great APPRECIATED
The title should have been floating drydock.

There must be more air tanks below the waterline than in the upright sides of the dry dock. How big are they for a large ship?
sir can you please say how did you do this 3D animation
