Divers watch on a small wrist: what makes a big watch fit?

  • In this video I want to go into what attributes in a rather big watch will make it fit a smaller wrist and also what to avoid. Of course case diameter and lug to lug distance are quite important in selecting the right watch for your wrist size, but these only give a rough estimate on what to look for. Some characteristics, like the shape and length of the lugs, the overall shape of the case and the location of the spring bars on the lugs are sometimes more important for deciding whether a watch fits your wrists well or not. For instance long lugs on a small diameter case can make a watch look big or drawn out. A flat crystal on a rather flat watch will make it look wider and bigger. Spring bars mounted high on the lugs make a watch look wider. A thick case with sleek curvy surfaces and slopes can make a watch look smaller. In this video examples will be presented by comparing four different watches: Seiko SKX013, Addiesdive MY-H2, Addiesdive MY-H9, Orient 'Kamasu'.

Hi, fellow watch enthusiast here. It has been months since your last video (this one). Maybe consider making new one? I like the simplicity and rawness of your video. I also hope you make more videos about Casio. God bless you!

Thanks a lot! The watch-well has dried up a bit, but I recently bought myself one of the newer f-91w, the white one to be precise. I maybe wantto make a comparison between the screens. While the illumination of the f-91 is notoriously crappy, it legibility is very good, also in weak lighting conditions, especially compared to the f-202. The background is very silvery bright and the LCD very crisp. I think this is because the background seems to be very close to the liquid ink. If you look at it at an angle, there is hardly any shade/reflection from the digits. I really like the screen.

Hi, I just wanted to tell you I just finished a polishing session on my f-201 with very interesting results. I plan on making a video about it tomorrow. It had some serious scratches in the display, so I went as far as sanding them out with 400 and 600 grain (waterproof) sandpaper, before using polywatch. I always found it tedious to have any result on my Casio using polywatch. Turns out now that the Casio screen has some kind of softer scratch resistant coating, that is hard to Polish, because as I used my sandpaper, it partially exposed the acrylic underneath. The coating feels tacky on the sandpaper, whereas the acrylic has a more abrasive feel to it, which is much more easy to polish afterwards.
