The K20 + turbo combination from Honda is a magical thing. And it looks like Hondata just made it even more magical :).
Love it! I've been living with the tune for about 2 months now and I'm really ready for more! Best fun is probably 3000 to redline in 2nd gear, 3rd gear, and a little of 4th. Beyond that, it seems to need another 150 hp.
I'm on the fence between Evo and type r... Can the type r handle 500+hp?

Xuqio Similar power as my Buick Envision 2.0T. But at least with AWD a d torque vectoring I can put the power down when conditions are slippery.
I have a hard time getting traction in my stock CTR through 2nd gear....I can't imagine having more power on the stock wheels and tires.

Would love this but I need a few more years no claims on my insurance before I can warrant the increase in insurance cost.
I am interested to know what is the best exhaust modification for this as I kind of feel I might want a little more bore from it when mine arrives.

Pretty sure it will void warranty for the most parts if they know you tune it.

I would think so that's why you should think about getting a ECU for the hondata and keep your stock one stock to switch out.

Honda pro Jason does all 2018 Honda Civic come with LoJack? I rented my si on turo and the girl who rent it hasn’t return it yet and hear that all civic has LoJack to track where the car is at?
JoJo-Show there is not Lo Jack but with Honda Link if it is connected to your phone and the car you can see where it was last parked.

HondaPro Jason so the police went and check on the location and is not there so I call Honda and Honda told me that it has to be marked by myself which confuse me because how can I be 22 hours away to mark that location? But the feature that comes with my car supposedly can track where is last park thur the navigation system but my si doesn’t have navigation
How bad did it overheat? I’ve heard its very common especially when tuned because of the extra horsepower.

How different did the FK8 feel with the Hondata tune as far as driving and power?
Man, I'm STILL trying to get rid of my 2018 Golf R for another Type R (originally had the R, traded it in for the Golf R, now regret it BAD). I'm hoping to get a 2018.5 model. I made such a bad decision - my '18 Golf R (manual transmission) is a bit quicker than my '17 Type R was, but DAMN is the quality in driving is night and day, the FK8 is fun everytime, the Golf R drives as boring as it looks.
I thought I'd like a bit more power, but my bone stock Mitsubishi 1995 3000GT VR-4 beat both the '17 FK8 AND my current Golf R on the street and the strip, so there's no point in having my Golf R, I WANT MY FK8 BACK LOL.

Why SMH?? I know I made a bad decision trading in my FK8. I regret it, the Golf R is BORING, my VR-4 is faster...and handles similarly to my Golf R. I'd rather drive my VR4 honestly. The Golf Rs biggest asset is that its comfortable in traffic. And luxurious. That's and the slightly faster acceleration is all the Golf R has on the FK8.

There is Hondata CARB tune, but you can also switch the tune back to stock if you wanted to as well

My Wifes CRV has Ktuner and she loves it.
Dengine is Ktuner street legal and emissions legal and shat are HP and Ib-foot torque gains.
"off road use only" I couldnt tell you the hp/tq #s. I would imagine it is kept under 250lbft of torque to preserve the CVT. The engine is capable of enough to shred the CVT if tuned improperly.

this is the PERFECT tune for this car. the numbers on the torque is right where i want it ( actually it's like 20 to 30 more than where i want it ), on a FWD car that weigh around 3100. now, what will make this more PERFECT, is losing 200 to 300 lbs. (＾＾ )
what will make it unbeatable, is it being in the 2700 to 2800 lbs, and AWD.
The easiest was to make more power is to trade it it and get a Z06 or hellcat
Boosted C7 Z06 I'd rather have a Corvette. Dodge is too heavy, hence the slow ass quarter mile times in comparison to the hp they make

If you unlock your ECU I am sure Honda can tell that has been done. As far as warranty goes, couldn't Honda refuse almost anything just by saying you over powered the car. Broken seat...the seat wasn't made to with stand that much power.

When modifying a vehicle, you should be well aware of the risk. If you are worried about warranty, better keep it stock.
The eu spec already have 320 hp so that tune is not so much

I live in Australia . We get a 5 year warranty on new Honda products & S2000 sell for 30k. I believe the Type R should become a classic

I have chipped many cars over the years & they all increased maintenance issues over 5 years & led to a reduction in resale value.
Classics only retain their value with NIL mods
The Type R is a labour of Love by Honda & should be left alone.
The respraying of Jason's car will reduce the eventual resale value, let alone his cost. Last year I spent A$9000 modifying a 2015 Chrysler SRT & got $5000 less than a stock car, excluding the $9000 mods cost.

Sassy The Sasquatch you'd be surprised how complex and advanced modern vehicle's computer systems are. I wouldn't doubt if they're able to detect if you modified the ECU at some point in time. The thing is, they have to directly prove that your modification caused the problem for them to void your warranty.
actually the manufacturer has to proof that the part you installed affected the car an exhaust intercooler is actually beneficial if anything and every modern day ecu has a flash counter which is how a dealership would be able to tell that its been tuned
especially with more overheating issues.

I love everything about the direction they went except the aesthetics. To me it’s such an ugly design and takes me away from everything that was Honda exterior iconic design.
And Honda engines were always so beautiful but now it looks like the bottom of an engine with a plastic cover from their generator line.
Just an opinion but I still will always love Honda.

Bruce Etzcorn in all honesty it depends on you. I would look up those companies I told you about and read what power numbers you can make from there tunes depending if you are stock all the way if you are full bolt ons. When I had my 01 Audi a6 2.7t 7 years ag0 I had a AWE stage 3 tune. But you should definitely search the market before going with something I had, because companies always change and become better lol
