- poison deal damage to health (ignore block), - poison is debuff, - if card is upgraded in choice options and you take it, it's also upgraded in your deck - exhaust triggers when you play card, so if you won't play cardless agony it will be in your discard pile - removing strikes and blocks is very good - if you dont have special relic, behind question mark can be normal combat
Guguc112 "imma keep neutralise for the big enemy" *Waste it on the small enemy and due immediately next round Dude I don't think he's even listening to his own reasonings
Those screen flashes are getting a bit more regular now. Almost one a vid now. And I think I could see some green in them this time. Is it our friend Greenman that is slowly breaking out of his eldritch prison?
Jaka Hlastan It's even better to keep all of them if you don't need to use them so they multiply more quickly and start using them when you have 4-6 until you have 1 or 2 and start multiplying them again
Savory Spaghetto But if you don't use it and let it go to the discard pile, it'll eventually get back to your hand, except this time you'll have 4, then 8, then 16... I can see an endless agony deck working, provided the deck is small and has enough extra draw cards.
exhaust and play synergies aren't as rare as you'd like. I've had runs with 3 or 4 chances to grab after image, for example. Free damage for using other cards is terrific, especially if he can get +energy and/or +draw synergies as well. My first win with the Silencer was with a 38 card deck I'd cycle in three turns. At that point you can pick up whatever works with any other card, and you'll probably draw it. Had the shiv relic and card as well, so I'd frequently get full hands and finish the turn carrying over 6 energy (ice cream is the best relic in the game, hands down).
Honestly my favorite thing was with the third character if you do the retain hand and you get the relic that gives you five orbs. There's a couple cards at synergize really well with that card just by building them up. With that one I found it was a really good to use with the shanks. I had a hand of like 10 of them after 4 rounds
Nl you can draw endless agony once and get 2 and then draw the 2 copies and get another 2 and so on so if you chose to draw them at the start you do a real huge snowball
Anger is good in that you can use it on the turn and still get the benefit of it doubling in your discard pile, but you don't have the certainty that Endless Agony gives of drawing multiple in a turn. Endless Agony, when left, will double every time you draw one. So in a situation where you have 4 Angers in one deck and 4 Endless Agonys in another, assuming you have the same odds of drawing each, you would prefer to have the Endless Agony really since you're instantly doubling it. I prefer Endless Agony as a card since it feels more consistent when used to 'go off'
It's still a bad card unless you have the perfect build for it. You can pull out much better with other cards. It's free, but it takes space from better cards. So in a sense it's a negative.
Endless might automatically trigger, but actually using the thing decreases the number you have, unlike Anger, so it's only working when you're not using it and only useful when you are.
Egglord you need to take more defence cards. The reason why you keep dying is because you only take attack/skill cards which bloat up your deck so you never draw defence cards when you need them. Other than that I'm loving the series- glad to see you figuring out a bunch of the synergies.
Deepika the other issue is he looks at the option to remove a card and doesnt remove strike.... cause he thinks they are good cards.... i just...i cant even lol. He had the chance to remove 2 strikes and streamline his deck for 140 gold. Would have been totally worth it
One this I'd like you to know which would help you a lot is that poison goes through shield. You don't have to bother damaging the target that is poisoned more than their current health.
Wtf634 because that makes sense.. You are talking about the guy who decided to waste the aoe strength reduction on one enemy instead of killing said enemy.
NL, Red Cards are for Ironclad only, Green Cards are for the Silent only, keep that in mind when ever thinking about combos. Also if you ever see Mind blast in the store, Take it.
Combo with the "poison spread" relic: (ex: 14:30) Poison the enemy then kill it with Bane. Because he's poisoned he'll take double Bane damage, and the poison isn't wasted because it jumps to the next target.
How many other people have noticed how misunderstood NL is about how endless agony works? I mean, there's a clue in the title name, ENDLESS and how he's used it so far, has made it a one turn use card.
You know that you can keep endless agony and get even more endless agonies? When you cycle through the discard pile you get to draw 2 endless agonies giving you 4 and this multiplies by a power of 2 so next draw (if you draw all of them) would be 8, 16 and so on.
At 9:43 Egg should have taken Riddle With Holes, because with the strength bonus, that was a 2 energy, deal 25 damage, with potential of going up to 35 damage
Important fact about poison you keep missing, poison gets applied to health, and doesn't have to go through armor, so the sphere that stacks defense can be killed by poison a lot easier. Other than that, try to only take a card if it actively benefits you, or if it cycles cheap. Especially with the green guy, you want to make sure you have about a 60/40 split of defense to offense cards in your deck, as healing isn't easy in this game, and even less so for him. When you get the chance to remove a card from your deck it's almost always good to remove a strike, as they offer little value, and each one that you remove makes it more likely you will get a defense.
NL, love the series so far and you are doing great but quick tip is that poison goes through block - that's why high block monsters have negate so you don't just spam poison and kill it
NL convinced me to buy the game and I must say it's absolutely worth it. I've already sunk around 15 hours into the game and won twice as the Silent, though I can't seem to get my head around the ironclad yet... Would recommend the anyone to buy it and I'm enjoying the series so far
I only ever win with Ironclad when running a Barricade Deck. What you need: 1 Barricade (This NEEDS to be upgrade) Multiple Flame Barriers Enflames/Spot weakness (For Strength Gain) Limit break (Double strength) Heavy Slash (Finisher attack for when you stack up enough strength) Metalicize (Block gain every turn) Goal of the deck: Play Barricade, spam block every turn while using Enflame/Spot weaknesses. When enough Strength has been gained, use Limit Break + Heavy Slash to begin dealing hundreds of damage a turn. Ignore every other card, except maybe Armaments. You do NOT want to dilute your deck. You absolutely NEED to draw barricade asap. Begin removing strikes from your deck.
Conversely, stack strength and just use cards as normal, collect bandages and heal a LOT of health every fight. I won on my second run with the Ironclad, although I have to admit Silencer's synergies are a lot more... obvious. I've gotten very lucky with my relic picks and card upgrades (and gold it seems) but to be fair it's because I don't take bad damage like NL, so I can afford to upgrade at fires, and remove cards. He's just not there yet, despite having almost double the playtime I do already.
After watching you play I decided to buy the game for myself, and immediately put 4 hours into it, and it's been fantastic! Amazing game so far, thank you for bringing it to my attention
Yo NL, turning down cards, removing cards, and upgrading your strongest cards is part of a core solid strategy in this game. Focusing a little more heavily on those will help you stay afloat while you learn and build on the fundamentals.
Gremlin has 7 HP, NL wants to kill Gremlin, uses 2 valuable cards to kill it instead of a single strike card that deals 7 HP... this was a perfect example of NL overthinking things. A simple strike would have killed the gremlin, allowed him to throw out the caltraps, and retained neutralize for the next round, which would have saved him.
also, you use the "remove card" feature if you get injuries or other shitty cards in your deck that are unplayable or do damage to you when drawn/discarded.
And to get rid of strikes and defends. You want good cards, and precisely enough of them. Flooding your deck with garbo, it doesn't matter how good your other cards are. A fifteen card deck with great synergy is better than a 40 card deck with better cards, especially if you're retaining strike and defend.
i love the Question Mark's, Juzu's Bracelet (while a common) is my favorite b/c you can no longer find encounters on (?) Rooms. if you see it i highly recommend going for it
NL unless you need to pump quick damage you should just cycle the endless agony into your deck, it’s like an anger in that they are effective later in combat in a multitude
NL.... you have sharp hide. If you used Caltrops, that means you deal 6 damage for every hit they attempt. now think of how many attacks that elite enemy did. Poisons are good, because they go through armor! PLEASE LEARN THIS! you have to think about potential damage for these cards. Infinite blades don't do any damage sure, but the longer you put off on using it, the more useless it becomes, If you hate long term damage, take cards with zero value like quick slash and neutralize. READ THE CARDS AND KNOW THE EFFECTS PLEASE NL! otherwise this series is going to be amazing. I already love the game and beat the boss after a 4 hour marathon.
If a battle is going to last long, you may discard the "Endless Agony" in the first round rather than exhaust it in order to profit from its "exponential value". :)
Ryab in your next silent deck just get everything poison and energy related. I know it sounds gimmicky but when you can stack upward of 40+ poison damage it's worth it. That and poison goes through armor AND doesn't trigger thorns.
I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure Quick Slash+ does 13 damage at 13:37 Which means he could've just killed the Imp and taken 0 damage, instead he blocked. Ryab...
Whether It'll work I'm not sure, but endless agony adds 1 card of itself into your hand when drawn, and is exhausted when played correct? What if you didn't play it, sent both back to the deck? Then you'd theoretically have 2 more in the deck, and say for example you rinse and repeat, you'd theoretically have a bunch of endless agonies correct? Again, not sure if it'd work, but if it does, it almost seems a waste to use both endless agony cards as soon as you draw them.
Plan out your path before you choose an option, you can purposely pick a direction with more fires, less elites, etc depending on what you can handle, one easy battle for a card isn't worth losing to an elite right afterwards
Here's how you play video games. You attack the enemy summoning more enemies. When they are dead, no more enemies. Focus bosses and stun their big attacks dont focus on the never ending adds that barely tickle your balls.
Holy shit, "Endless Agony" seems like such a good long-game card. just ignore it the first few times you see it and then you suddenly can start dealing massive amounts of damage for free.
I really enjoy watching this one. I play games on my other screen and I had to stop playing because it was just too interesting. Definitely going to check this game out.
I think NL is great. I watch a great majority of your series. I would love a double Slay the Spire upload after each death. There for when u did we can see u start a new one on the same day. It would also be nice if the thumb nail said how far into the run he is. I.e. This one could be labeled as run 2-2 and the next run would be 3-1 3-2 3-3 and so on
I've been playing some myself, and I kinda dig the game. I kinda dislike how RNG can screw you, regardless of how careful or skillful you are, but there is enough skill involved that I can still enjoy myself. I almost hope that in a future release of the game, there will be an option to start with a loadout of cards instead of the generic 5 blocks, 5 strikes, and two or so class-specific cards.
two episodes with endless agony and i dont think nl understands your supposed to only play one so the second one will be discarded and drawn again later or discard both so you can keep it growing
To be fair I've found the assassin chick to be a lot harder than the sword dude. Being able to draw and play so many zero cost cards sounds great in theory but in game there are so many enemies that can screw you over like there are enemies who gain strength when you play skills or hit you for 3 when you attack them etc these enemies favor a couple big hits rather than lots of small hits
Using the Bane + Strike to kill one of the Gremlins @ 14:44 , rather than Deadly Poison into the Bane, to kill the same gremlin for the same cost, before spreading the poison elsewhere -_-
this marketing strategy is so damn good, I watch NL play so bad that I want to buy this game just to play it correctly
TheLifeLaVita This is too real. I bought Rimworld for this exact reason.
This made me buy Hand of Fate 2.
TheLifeLaVita made me buy oxygen not included... and this come pay day
TBH, I want to buy this game so badly since ep1...
This is exactly what I did, great game. Still hard even when you try to play right, has a good dose of issac luck.
"The longer this goes on, the better it is for us, believe it or not"
[X] Doubt
- poison deal damage to health (ignore block),
- poison is debuff,
- if card is upgraded in choice options and you take it, it's also upgraded in your deck
- exhaust triggers when you play card, so if you won't play cardless agony it will be in your discard pile
- removing strikes and blocks is very good
- if you dont have special relic, behind question mark can be normal combat
I don’t agree with your choices but I appreciate you explaining your reasoning
Guguc112 "imma keep neutralise for the big enemy"

Bumbumbumbum
screen flashes happen when you alt tab, fixed by using borderless fullscreen apparently.
SPIDERS INSIDE OF MY DREAMS I THINK I LOVE YOu
D I G I T A L S T O R M
god tier misplay on the elite enemy
There are so many ways he could have easily destroyed that guy with poison transfer.
god tier misplays in the entire game.
I have never actually yelled at my computer screen before when watching NL. That whole combat I was literally screaming. It was insane.
Spagghetimonster he already screwed up on the first turn. Slow claps egg. Slow claps
"So I guess I should start with the strong attacks, right?"
NO, YOU SHOULD NOT, THATS EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
NL doesn't know that you dont have to instantly play endless agony... Everytime you dont play it, it doubles in volume...
Yeah seemed like he really slept on that one, especially as he had the chance to get two early on.
Yultemsee and draw it at the start of the battle
Its Jade Idol all over again
its much worse since you need a lot of build up to make it work.
He had the relic to draw it at the start every time ;___;
Try keep endless agony in your hand to keep pulling a zero energy hit.
Jaka Hlastan It's even better to keep all of them if you don't need to use them so they multiply more quickly and start using them when you have 4-6 until you have 1 or 2 and start multiplying them again
Thank you, kind sir.
This doesnt work because you only get the extra endless agony if you draw the card out of your deck :/
Savory Spaghetto But if you don't use it and let it go to the discard pile, it'll eventually get back to your hand, except this time you'll have 4, then 8, then 16... I can see an endless agony deck working, provided the deck is small and has enough extra draw cards.
Egg not understanding how Endless Agony is supposed to work ... is actually an endless agony. Loving this game tho keep up the series!
exhaust and play synergies aren't as rare as you'd like. I've had runs with 3 or 4 chances to grab after image, for example.

13:37 YOU COULD HAVE KILLED THE GREMLIN RIP
Nik Nak ikr I came down here just to see someone say that ty
Can you explain how?
he had quick slash, and it did enough damage to kill the 11 hp enemy
and again at 17:42.
1337(LEET)plays. 😂 😂 😂
HE HAS ACTUALLY DONE IT!!! Two Episodes a Day, Lets Gooooo
Nl you can draw endless agony once and get 2 and then draw the 2 copies and get another 2 and so on so if you chose to draw them at the start you do a real huge snowball
not unlike Anger, but I guess a little weaker

also with after miage he can get tons of free block

Poison ignores block
13:33 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
alex hristov that was painful to watch
And he just recently bought the relic for innate too.
Egglord you need to take more defence cards. The reason why you keep dying is because you only take attack/skill cards which bloat up your deck so you never draw defence cards when you need them.

Deepika Another thing that's really dragging him down is him defending when he has cards that can kill the enemy, like at 13:33.

If Northernlion ever figures out how Endless Agony works I'll be really excited.
I'm still waiting for him to learn to orbit.
Thank god someone noticed
Looks like Im having Egg for breakfast
Why not remove Strikes?
Wtf634 because that makes sense..
You are talking about the guy who decided to waste the aoe strength reduction on one enemy instead of killing said enemy.
Michael Termine Don't forget he didn't pick up the deal 3 for every skill you play when he's using a poison block deck.
NL, Red Cards are for Ironclad only, Green Cards are for the Silent only, keep that in mind when ever thinking about combos. Also if you ever see Mind blast in the store, Take it.
2 uploads of this game and i havent slept yet. truly the most lucky man alive
NL, if you uploaded one of these every hour for the rest of your life, I would watch them all.
When staying up until 2 am was worth it
ye boi
20 min? Must be a speedrun
Best series right now. Please don't stop
Combo with the "poison spread" relic: (ex: 14:30)
Poison the enemy then kill it with Bane. Because he's poisoned he'll take double Bane damage, and the poison isn't wasted because it jumps to the next target.

Just... thank you... 12 hour shift and finally an upload schedule I can get behind.
NL, Holy crap, thanks for showing me this game. I got it after watching your first episode and have been having a blast playing! Thanks!
You know that you can keep endless agony and get even more endless agonies? When you cycle through the discard pile you get to draw 2 endless agonies giving you 4 and this multiplies by a power of 2 so next draw (if you draw all of them) would be 8, 16 and so on.
Lets hope this series is atleast a 20 banger, really liking it so far
At 9:43 Egg should have taken Riddle With Holes, because with the strength bonus, that was a 2 energy, deal 25 damage, with potential of going up to 35 damage

NL, love the series so far and you are doing great but quick tip is that poison goes through block - that's why high block monsters have negate so you don't just spam poison and kill it
i don't know why this is up but i'm glad it is
I guess he accidentally put AM in stead of PM. Either way I like it.
4 pm, love this series doe, fun to watch
I was just thinking about how i had nothing to do at 5 am and wished I didn’t watch episode 3 so early and then THIS comes out LETS GOOOAH
Hell yeah! To what do I owe this pleasure? Two episodes in one day for my new favorite series?
Riddle With Holes is great when you have Strength, which you did.
we've been blesseth with an early episode LET'S GOOOOOOOOO
NL convinced me to buy the game and I must say it's absolutely worth it. I've already sunk around 15 hours into the game and won twice as the Silent, though I can't seem to get my head around the ironclad yet...
Would recommend the anyone to buy it and I'm enjoying the series so far
I only ever win with Ironclad when running a Barricade Deck.
What you need:
1 Barricade (This NEEDS to be upgrade)
Multiple Flame Barriers
Enflames/Spot weakness (For Strength Gain)
Limit break (Double strength)
Heavy Slash (Finisher attack for when you stack up enough strength)
Metalicize (Block gain every turn)
Goal of the deck: Play Barricade, spam block every turn while using Enflame/Spot weaknesses.
Thanks, finally won my first ironclad run today by stacking demon form and defense (eventually doing 300+ damage to the awakened).
As I've mentioned in other comments either here or other videos, Demon Form might be my favorite Ironclad card.
Congrats on the win mate.
When he started fighting the gremlins instead of the leader i cried
Perhaps saving your endless agonies could be a strategy as they would build up in your deck and you could have a whole bunch in hand
After watching you play I decided to buy the game for myself, and immediately put 4 hours into it, and it's been fantastic! Amazing game so far, thank you for bringing it to my attention
endless agony is an apt description of my mental state right now
love revisiting these ❤
Hey Egg. Poison negates Armour btw. If he's poisoned he's going to take that damage regardless of his armour.
Yo NL, turning down cards, removing cards, and upgrading your strongest cards is part of a core solid strategy in this game. Focusing a little more heavily on those will help you stay afloat while you learn and build on the fundamentals.
Keep one endless agony in your hand, when you draw it again it will double, that way you always have it in your deck, zero cost attack
I wonder what the people in my house think about me constantly saying "Bouncing Flask... bouncing flask... play the bouncing flask..."
I had Apotheosis and several Catalysts in a Silent run today!
Can we have two episodes per day of this crazily enjoyable series?
Try discarding the endless agony the first time you have them in your hand, you'll get so much more out of them
also, you use the "remove card" feature if you get injuries or other shitty cards in your deck that are unplayable or do damage to you when drawn/discarded.
And to get rid of strikes and defends. You want good cards, and precisely enough of them. Flooding your deck with garbo, it doesn't matter how good your other cards are.
A fifteen card deck with great synergy is better than a 40 card deck with better cards, especially if you're retaining strike and defend.
*E A R L Y E P I S O D E BO I I I S*
The mad egg has absolutely done it this time
i love the Question Mark's, Juzu's Bracelet (while a common) is my favorite b/c you can no longer find encounters on (?) Rooms. if you see it i highly recommend going for it
Dagger Flash is essentialy (with that +1 to strength you had, which can go up to 3) a 10-14 dmg AoE. It's an amazing card for that class.
Please continue this series!
NL unless you need to pump quick damage you should just cycle the endless agony into your deck, it’s like an anger in that they are effective later in combat in a multitude
Love this series, just wish for longer vids
13:15 can you see what you miss played just keep your quick slash+ in mind
"Now I understand how we're gonna make this happen, kill these enemies with poison and transfer the poison onto this guy"
*Never poisons anyone ever*
NL.... you have sharp hide. If you used Caltrops, that means you deal 6 damage for every hit they attempt. now think of how many attacks that elite enemy did. Poisons are good, because they go through armor! PLEASE LEARN THIS! you have to think about potential damage for these cards. Egg, feed's not in the Silencer's deck, it's an Ironclad card.
You have retain and the enemy isn't attacking My advice: don't use up your two block cards just because you have the energy. Retain one for next turn.
Its amazing how such a simple game can eat up the hours. If you go pretty deep a single run can last over an hour.
This game seems dope as hell! Great series as always
NL, You are not forced to take a card after every Battle. If it doesn't go with your battle plan, don't dilute your deck with such cards.
NL I love you you bring so much joy into my life
Literally just finished a I think 3 hour stream of this but I love watching you play so I'll suffer through this lol
Again, not sure if it'd work, but if it does, it almost seems a waste to use both endless agony cards as soon as you draw them.
why does the egg upload these episodes at 4 am
for people like me, it's 11am here
Think it was 5:00pm he uploaded this (in his timezone)
No it's 2:00 am I live In his time zone
Tom Plum it is definitely not 5pm unless he suddenly left Vancouver
Ah, yeah you're right. I had the wrong timezone. Thankfully it was uploaded at 10am for me :)
I'm loving this. Can't wait for more.
Holy shit, "Endless Agony" seems like such a good long-game card. just ignore it the first few times you see it and then you suddenly can start dealing massive amounts of damage for free.
Hopefully this is more than just a mini series :)
Keep playing this game I love watching it
I've been playing some myself, and I kinda dig the game. I kinda dislike how RNG can screw you, regardless of how careful or skillful you are, but there is enough skill involved that I can still enjoy myself. I almost hope that in a future release of the game, there will be an option to start with a loadout of cards instead of the generic 5 blocks, 5 strikes, and two or so class-specific cards.
the guy that summoned all the gremlins will de-spawn all the gremlins when the big guy dies.
Some of his choices lead me to believe that this man is baked out of his god damn mind when he plays this.
HE DOESN'T GET HOW ENDLESS AGONY WORKS, you gotta use it only once so you'll still have one
Love this game please keep playing it
I like the difference in deck styles between the two characters,
two episodes with endless agony and i dont think nl understands your supposed to only play one so the second one will be discarded and drawn again later or discard both so you can keep it growing
@northernlion poison damages enemies even if they have sheilds. sheilds block attack damage and poison counts as life loss so it ignores them
To be fair I've found the assassin chick to be a lot harder than the sword dude. Being able to draw and play so many zero cost cards sounds great in theory but in game there are so many enemies that can screw you over like there are enemies who gain strength when you play skills or hit you for 3 when you attack them etc these enemies favor a couple big hits rather than lots of small hits
"The longer this goes on the better it is for us" during a fight with a boss that continuously summons more enemies?
Total display on endless agony keep in the deck while in combat so you keep drawing it and deal a ton of damage for free
This game is dope.
Using the Bane + Strike to kill one of the Gremlins @ 14:44 , rather than Deadly Poison into the Bane, to kill the same gremlin for the same cost, before spreading the poison elsewhere -_-
HEEEEEES DONE IT. 2 EPISODES A DAY. NOW WE JUST NEED LONGER ONES
