Not to mention that by the time the asteroid hit dinosaurs where already in decline.
Very likely, someone has done their research…
I like to think it was a chain of unfortunate events that lead to the extinction of the dinosaurs. Such as a rise in volcanic activity polluting the atmosphere thus leading to less and less dinosaur eggs hatching and also triggering a large amount of habitat loss for many species of low land herbivores like muttaburosaurus and various ceratopsians as well as other hadrosaurs and sauropods suffering from this. The meteor that struck earth would have been the final nail in the coffin. But it’s only theoretical like all things paleontology.
I am with you on the chain of events theory. One thing led to another and over a long period of time, what we know as “dinosaurs” slowly went extinct!

“Hey”
What about considering the chances that a worldwide cataclysmic flood wiped out most all life on earth in a very short period of time? Many fossils are found with their gills, etc. in fully extended positions and some even while midway through eating. This suggests an event so sudden and intense the animals had no chance to escape but instead were mummified (fossilized) almost instantly.
Bingo you are correct, God sent the flood
😅
Finally someone who actually knows what happened I am so frustrated that people actually believe that
yikes
Not worldwide but many could get caught up in a localized flood. food still in their mouth. River bed flooding is one of the main contributors to making fossils. As the water table rises silt flows over the dinosaur. Also back then the earth was way warmer meaning it had more atmospheric energy which in turn created massive storms. Massive storms cause flash floods.

The actual reason why dinosaurs Went extinct because Peter Griffin Touches himself at night.
It all happened because of Miss Immortality Qetino 🗿
The magnificent thing is if the asteroid didn't hit the PERFECT spot it wouldn't have led to extinction just like killed all the ones nearby (Mexico and some of South and North america) but nope it hit a vein of (something I don't quite remember anymore) and it just increased the power of it 10 fold and cause a bunch of tsunamis and eruptions and that's why we don't have domesticated velociraptors
That is crazy!

No, it wasn't the meteor earth was changing oxygen levels dropped by a lot, climate was changing before the asteroid.
Me and my friend sometimes go looking for diansour fossils in dried river beds, we've found ancient sand dollars this giant rolley poleys the Horned coral which is 450 million years old, but the neatest thing we've found was a tiny black rock which we found out was called nuclear glass which was made from the pressure the asteroids made on the earth when they hit, all found in ohio

They are the same but... more
Like they are still dinosaurs but they aren't the same non-avian dinosaurs like the ones 66 million years ago but I think that birds are actually still as interesting
The actual reason why people want to call them avian dinosaurs now is because actually we're discovering that dinosaurs and birds aren't really far apart in genetics and in some cases behavioral instances basically birds are dinosaurs that evolve flying feathers and have changed appearance due to circumstances other than that they pretty much still have genetics to become flightless dinosaurs again and as far as scientists are concerned dinosaur behavioral findings matchup with a lot of modern-day avion dinosaurs

Brain Barf: It's just a Theory
MatPat: A GAME THEORY
There was a huge field of vulcanos in india. Over thousands of years they killed the Dinosaurs. The impact was just the last drop...
I just read in the Bible about a creature called the behemoth and it described a species of a sauropod
The behemoth better matches the description of an elephant or a hippopotamus. Dinosaurs like sauropods have hollow bones, while the behemoth's bones are described as "bones are as strong pieces of brass, his bones are like bars of iron" as well as having a tail that "moveth like a cedar", referring to the lebanese cedar tree, which doesn't look or sway much like a sauropods's tail. There's another line that says "Under the lotus plants, he lies, in the shelter of the trees and in the marsh." A 80 metric ton sauropod like Argentinosaurus would have been way to massive to hide among marshy plants, and the semi-aquatic sauropod hypothesis hasn't been accepted for a long time, as if they fully submerged themselves in water then they would've been crushed under their own weight. There's also a line that says "his nose pierceth through snares", which sounds more like an elephant's trunk than a sauropods nose. I can't find the exact line, but there's another bit that mentions it being equipped with a sword, which could be referring to horns or tusks, neither of which sauropods had.
Also nowhere in Job does it mention it's long neck... the key defining feature of every sauropod (except Brachytrechalopan, which is quite small for a sauropod).
Hope this helps.

@@brainbarfou know nothing of paleontology yet post this innacurate videos. It saddens me that you reach such a broad audience with your lies
we learned all of this in less than 100 years of looking at layers of dirt.
To say it's just a theory is actually interesting. It could be that all the scant remains of ancient reptiles disappear seemingly at an identical lithic altitude but for some reason that we've got completely wrong. If you look at why we're forced to assume it was an asteroid, It makes total sense but is far from conclusive. The truth is we don't know, but it is a really thorough guess as to why we never find Dinosaurs next to mammals in old rocks
And that is why I chose to say theory!
When udk mammals lived alongside dinosaurs:
Someone else has already mentioned in the replies here that we find dinosaur fossils with mammals, but that's reminded me that if you want to see something really cool, look up the 2023 Psittacosaurus vs Repenomamus - it's a really cool 125 million year old fossil that appears to show an opposum-sized mammal attacking a small dinosaur that is 3 times bigger than it is, before they were then killed and buried instantly by volcanic ash and debris, and they fossilised perfectly.
Not all dinosaurs went extinct. Before replying, think about it.

@@brainbarf I was refering to "experts" & "scientists" habit of opinion/theory = hard facts.

It's just a theory
People: No it's facts
Lol
The idea that a plague took out a significant amount of the dinosaurs just doesn't seem likely to me. Dinosaurs encompassed many species over genera. In other words there were dinosaurs that were more widely separated than deer, polar bears, and mice are in mammals. A single organism creating deadly infections in such a widely diverse group of creatures is unheard of today and seems unlikely even then.
Yes there are bacteria that can inhabit many types of animals but being deadly infectious to multiple different completely unrelated species is unheard of.
They were absent from fossil record long before the major asteroid strike. It was likely multiple inpacts over a series of years with the largest creating the KT boundary

Hot take but I like the theory!
No its not a theory everything bigger than a chicken died. But theropod dinosaurs (modern birds) survived and some creatures that can go without food for days survived like the crocs
"It's just a theory" can be taken to mean "none of this is supported by evidence". It is supported by substantial amounts of evidence. What most people fail to realize about scientific theories is that a vernacular usage of the word "theory" is any claim, whereas the scientific usage is more strongly supported by evidence.
I completely agree, how I said it at the end was slightly confusing!
So what is the evidence that this catastrophe occurred. What catastrophe could have kill the dinosaurs and leave such a well preserve fossil record in the process?
@@nemshimacapana6730 We have rock strata to corroborate the mass extinction of the dinosaurs. Essentially, the older the rock, (obviously), the older the fossils. The Chicxulub crater is pretty good evidence of a "recent" mass extinction event, created just over 66 million years ago. Recently scientists found asteroid dust inside the crater, so that pretty much rules out natural formation. Most dinosaur lineages died out at about that time too (and it's likely the rock strata corroborate this also) so this is pretty good evidence that the dinosaurs were caused by a mass extinction precipitated by a large collision. Of course, there are always people who deny anything you give them, and will fight like hell to push forward some other claim that makes far less sense -_-
@@nemshimacapana6730A meteor could do that pretty well, and the world-spanning layer of iridium sitting right at the extinction line supports it.
Just remember, all birds are dinosaurs, but not all dinosaurs are birds. The real reason they went extinct is that non-avian dinosaurs had reached an evolutionary climax, and their evolution had slowed down considerably because they were so perfected to their preferred environmental niches.

@@brainbarf I just love scrolling through the newer comments about Noah's flood and telling them to bring up evidence for this theory to be proven 😄 🤣
Many people don't know it but there is the most logical theory, and it is that there wasn't much oxygen in the atmosphere, that's why they were extinct
Sounds right to me!
How does it explain dinosaurs evolving into birds over time tho. If there wasn’t much oxygen in the atmosphere, they would have died out pretty quickly, not nearly as much time as needed to evolve. That theory does however make the “if dinos died, why didn’t snakes and crocs die as well?” Question be answered. Until further evidence I’m sticking with the asteroid, or my personal favorite, Scrat from Ice Age killed the Dinosuars 😂
@@Commander_Thorn. they don't evolve overnight and the oxygen level in the atmosphere doesn't drop over night, that's why a lot of creatures died out and a lot of them evolved, and there are other reasons like maybe less food or water in the region. I'm not saying that the asteroid thing didn't happen, I'm saying it's definitely not the cause for all of them going extinct. I mean think about it, if they all were whipped out, it had to be a very massive asteroid that will be doing that. But then, how could it whip out most creatures around the world and there is no record of something happening to earth from it? Okay you could say there was acid rain and ashes all over the world and an Ice age, but where is the large hole that should be seen or at least detected from the impact?
@@Commander_Thorn. birds actually existed long before the extinction. Like waayyy before.

It is just a theory
People in Ohio Playing with dinosaurs is so fun
The irony is, “it’s JUST a theory” is said in a tone as if to say “it’s a guess” and therefore not as valid, but in Science, EVERYTHING is a theory. Including Gravity! But I bet you can see yourself fall or feel the force of it pulling you backwards when on a rollercoaster.
THEORY: is a structured hypothesis with EVIDENCE to support it. Calling it just a theory with such a tone just shows how little people understand the word “theory”.
It’s just thrown out there without understanding that in science, a theory means it’s been researched and there’s PROOF of what it’s being claimed. Like the theory of Germs, evolution, gravity, black holes, etc etc all have evidence to back it up. In since a “theory” is the highest point of proof we can have without actually having a definitive “YES”
I definitely see your point, and you’re correct about the main, generally accepted theories…nothing can ever be definitively proven. That said, there are plenty of theories that lack evidence and scientific support. But you’re right, I could have been more explicit that the asteroid theory is the most well-supported one.
