Hello. This is great information. I myself have taught interviewing techniques to people that have been successful for them and me. I have always customized my resume for various industries because I have so many different fields I've worked in. So yes that is very important. The only thing I disagree with is when you stated not to use Indeed. I landed my best job ever through them and now going into my 3rd year on the job. I applied in late March, got a call in mid April. Had 1st Interview late April. 2nd Interview early May. Was hired on the 31st. So in my experience. I'll never discount Indeed. Yes indeed! 😁
These reasons are all still relevant. Also consider you're just not a good fit for the role. But there's ways to maximize your chances of getting noticed, with a bit of strategy.
Seriously, this man videos are helpful big time , I don’t know if he remember emailing me with some good stuff and yes I did get my Suppervisor position over a year now and yes I’m fighting to move to higher position now
So true on #1. The best and highest paying job I ever had was from a friend who told me about a job that was not even posted. I interviewed and got it 2 days later. Was a wi win, I got position and the employer did not have to go through the hassle, cost and time of posting it. Fast forward 2 years I was laid off and now looking again, sad trying to find something now using job boards knowing they exhausted all other options.
The below post is from Cecile Clarke (Darnell’s wife). I don't know when I last posted something on Facebook, but I had to post a message about my best friend/husband of 27+ years. Darnell passed away on 7/13 from an illness that wreaked havoc with his body within 6 weeks. I am comforted in knowing that he is at peace and symptom free. However, I will truly miss him (actually, I am missing him now).
Good stuff. I would also add the nice so comment of many companies employ 2 year college graduates that have no idea how to even properly scan resumes for true fit. They are not true experts in all job requirements, so it's unfortunate but good resumes are also not seen because of lack of experience by the recruiter. A two year college graduate selecting resumes for a director position is pure disgusting in my book. That level has earned a level in which a qualified person in the hiring company should review.
I think your comment is disgusting. The amount of education does not direct the type of work employees are hired to do. Perhaps your nastiness is keeping you from being employed or advancing in your career. #Anybody #CanBeTrained #ToDoAnything #AADegree #BADegree #HRProfessional #Holder!!
First I would suggest you re-read what I posted it's pretty clear. It has nothing to do with training!! It has to do with young recruiters often lack the experience to properly scan through resumes as they as not intimately involved with the job. So they rely on scanning buzz words. And you are a fool if you would want to have a 2 year college student scanning your resume when you are at a director or vice president level. Those level should have the common courtesy of a more seasoned HR recruiter.
Emily, Darnell unfortunately passed away in July of this year. 2019. His videos will remain on youtube. His wife has made them available to all who wants to learn information about having a great and awesome career.
I was told that I have the job where I applied only I haven’t started yet and It’s been a month and going on two sence I’ve been told I’m going to start but I haven’t started yet and just yesterday the hiring person said it’s going to be yet another two weeks before I start. I was supposed to start in the beginning of January of 2020. I haven’t even gotten an interview.
hello my friend, yo he estado enviando resume por 7 meses corrido pero niniguna, compañía me ha llamado, estoy viendo tus vídeos pero quiero saber como yo puedo hacer un resume mas interesantes para que las Industria o Compañías me puedan tomar en cuenta mi resume
So what about an interview where you have to create a presentation of 2 new programs which will be followed by a panel interview. How does one proceed?
Hi Darnell, really liked your advice today thank you so much, I have a career question I don't know the answer to, I am a 48 yrs old woman with an Engineering degree 20 yrs ago, I have been working in customer support roles and in the last 2 yrs I started in very junior accounting assistant roles so far these jobs are not making me happy, I work with younger people without degrees , really looking for a senior role i am thinking about doing an MBA or a career change to software development which one would give me more fullfillment, really appreciate your advice Thanks -Jamuna
Hello sir. I have a question. How should I respond to an email asking me if I am interested in a position different from what I have applied for? Thank you!
Could someone forward me Mr. Clarke cheat sheet? I just came across his RUclips page and shock to find out he has passed away and info is no longer available. I have a interview coming up and need help. Thank you Email: Freshair178@gmail.com

@@reneeomoregie4191 that's such a shame. Thank you very much for informing me. Best of wishes for his family.
I get what you are saying about linkedin but it didn’t work for me
But alot of companies only let you apply through job sites.
why so loud?....i had to crank down the volume.
Do you review resumes for format, font and presentation?
Sounds like they should hire someone to manage the job board.

Wow, did he pass away??😟
Whatttt he died? Am so glad to have found his channel.
Where is the link for onsite interviews at jobfairs?
So what about an interview where you have to create a presentation of 2 new programs which will be followed by a panel interview. How does one proceed?
that is confusing, referals are supposed to suck. people give people positive referals whom they like not who fits best!
