Good info - thanks for passing along. FYI - I have a Lynx going on two years now and use quite a bit fishing. Just yesterday, the rudder deployment lanyard broke when I was launching. I should have inspected it more closely than I did because I did not see that where the lanyard goes thru the hole in the top of the rudder pin, it acts like a mini-saw and the rope cuts into the inside of that hole. The pin needs to be replaced (Hobie gives you the extra when you buy the Lynx) and the lanyard needs to be replaced. No biggee - Navarre has a good video to show that. Just note that after a while of use, that lanyard will go.
Thanks for the info. I will keep watch. Navarre has a pedal drive mount add on for the Lynx I bought. Seriously, one of the best mods I've ever used on a Hobie. A genius idea. I will make a vid in the near future. If you don't have, get it.
It’s good they fixed you up... soon they’ll come up with some kind of A.I. system that just knows which way you want to turn. It’ll free up a hand so you can hold an extra beer. 👍🏻
I had a problem with the bungie cord attach to the rudder and would come back up when pulling the rope. Hobie wouldn’t warranty it. So I ended adding my own bungie cord to the rudder and it working now when lifting the rudder 😮
Just some unfamiliar pondering, but if it was a regular mechanical rudder with a tiller handle (or outboard boat motor), wouldn’t you have to swing it left to steer the boat to the right, and vice versa? I wonder if the dealer took the controller apart and flipped the cables to fix it?
I actually took apart the steering handle to see if something could be flipped to make it work and that was a negative. My dealer called Hobie and talked to some other people in the know and no one had ever heard of this problem. Lucky me. He handed me a new rudder system still in the plastic.

That first one was probably a southern hemisphere model. 😉🤣 I’m glad they got you fixed up so quickly.

This rudder issue was like the eclipse. Only happens once in a lifetime. Lucky me.
