I am a sophomore and this is my first year playing JV/Varisity. Ive been really committed to the game as I dream of starting on varsity and playing in college. Ive worked hard on my game every day, but at open gyms I dont feel the same as I am on my own and I feel nervous too before practice and during games. Ive been excited and nervous for this upcoming season as I want to good so I can accomplish my dreams, but I am worried about like getting in and facing student sections. Ive just recently discovered your channel and your seriousness basketball player video has helped me think differently in just a day! Im wondering if you have any other advice to help me? Thanks!
Sent you a response via email, but for those who didn't see it and might benefit from the response, here is is: "You're on the right track with watching the videos and reading the newsletters. I'll only add one minor point, and that is that it is totally ok to feel nervous and unsure about what the future holds. That is a totally valid and understandable human reaction when going into something you care about, and feeling this way does not reduce your level of performance. In fact, it is an opportunity to step up to the plate regardless, which just further increases your level of courage. So take it on facing forward, and good luck!" - Simon, Team DeepGame
I am a junior playing varsity my freshman year I didn’t play but my sophomore year I transferred to a private school and had 20 ppg playing varsity for the first time I then transferred back my junior year public school and now scoring 8ppg off the bench
Things can change with your environment - different players, different coach, different competition, etc. Judge your ability based on your situation. It doesn't make sense to compare two completely different situations - Simon, Team DeepGame
Some games we'll perform better than others. The ups and downs are parts of the game too - don't give it too much meaning when things don't go your way, and simply keep at it =) - Simon, Team DeepGame

I’m a freshman and I have tryouts next week and last season I suffered a fracture to my ankle how can I get my confidences back to be a paint beast with have the fear of hurting my ankle again?
Your confidence isn't likely to repair completely in a week if you haven't been preparing already. But generally speaking, you can work on improving it, and the process is pretty simple: keep showing up, and of course keep careful, but eventually once you've done enough work back on the court at a comfortable pace without hurting your ankle, it won't be a problem or at least as much of a problem anymore - Simon, Team DeepGame
I love your work and would love for you to mentor me. I feel my breakthrough coming mentally more than anything. I’ve never lacked anything physically or skill wise, just my mind. Thank you for all your work, it’s ahead of it’s time. Please reach out to me, I would love to learn more from you
coach i me and my team have been having scrimmages every friday and first game i did pretty good but i just feel like i’m not free enough and not using everything i learned and its frustrating any help?
These kinds of inconsistencies are common in the short term. Just keep going: keep training your skills (less so now that you're in season), keep working on your athleticism (also less), and keep working on the DeepGame. Commit to the process long term over the course of weeks, months, and even years, and as time goes on, you will play more and more free - Simon, Team DeepGame
@@DeepGameBasketballI am the best player on my team but I lack confidence and it’s really bad. I get so upset with myself that I don’t wanna workout, I don’t wanna play basketball anymore cause I just get so so stressed and frustrated every. single. time. mostly for me it’s because I miss shots. that’s what gets me upset. I wanna quit but I know I have talented and I know I can make it. I took like a month break from training because I got really mad, and then I played like trash because I didn’t practice. wich didn’t help my confidence at all. can you please help me?

I just joined high school this year and I’m not rlly getting much playing time, last year I was the one having all the minutes. But the same coach this year isn’t playing me much and played the older players, and I feel like every time on the court I’m scared to get subbed out cause I only have a limited time playing, any tips on playing freely? Thanks

Earning your own trust is essentially just not having any attachment to external factors
Ideally. For most of us - limited attachment is great, too 😄 - Simon, Team DeepGame
