What brilliant timing! Just got back home from a very windy volleyball session.
These tips really "blew" me away...
Learning beach volleyball and trying to play by the rules. When passing second ball using a set it is important the ball does not spin. Sometimes the ball only spins slightly ( half a turn ) sometimes it spins a full turn. I know some tolerance is allowed but to what extent is this tolerance acceptable
The amount of spin shouldn’t be the deciding factor or whether a set is clean or not. It should only be called bad if it is a double contact or a lift/hold.
Very interesting, sometimes it is very hard to tell when border line sets are carried out. I m hoping for clear indications to avoid conflict during tense games
When the tourney is about to begin and someone asks how many rotations are we going to allow, I respond with "how high a set do you want to allow?" The point being that a set that is in the air twice as long rotates twice as much, hence another reason number of rotations is a bad way to call doubles.

I hear many people saying to play a “smaller game” in the wind. Lower passes and lower sets. Do you agree with that?
I've noticed that as I get better at passing and hitting, it is getting more difficult to play in the wind. Any tips?
Lowering the pass and set in high winds is a great idea. Just make sure your setter/hitter knows before you start doing it.
How about passing when wind is away from you? Blowing towards opposite

What about the height of the set and the time for attacking?
If it’s extremely windy it will always be a good idea to pass and set lower. This should allow more control!
what about hand setting in the wind? is it viable at all?
There is still a time to hand set when it’s windy but it’s a lot harder to get your feet stable. If you can get your feet to the ball and be stable go ahead and try to put your hands on it. Your finish needs to be very strong though to account for the wind.
Is there anything different with positioning footwork to compensate for the wind?
Sometimes I guard more line if I know they are counting on the wind pulling a serve back in or angleing a little for the curve of a serve
I would just keep in mind what the wind will do to the ball and anticipate that movement.
Was that an illegal open-hand tip at 5:15? Not sure we should be using that tactic hitting with the wind.

100% legal. No question to it. As long as your attack is going into the wind then you are doing a good job.

A little bit of wind can be helpful. When it gets really windy it is tough for all levels.
