The X3 5.7K only reframes in post to 1080, do the X4´s 8K reframe to 4K then?
unfortunately its more like 2.7k once reframed 😬

Just discovered this. Many thanks for a balanced review that also mentions things which the X4 falls short of. Much rather have this than those raving non-stop about how wonderful it is without a single negative aspect.
I'm actually hoping that an upgrade to the ONE RS 1-Inch will come soon since the current model is almost 2 years old now, incorporatign all the current improvements made with the X4 but having 1" sensors for better low-light capture and perhaps more than 8K video.
no problem, glad u liked it 😎 yes! an upgrade to the ONE RS would be great because the X4 along with the X3 is still a bit mushy in low light so I think the combination of the new specs on the X4 and new specs on a upgraded ONE RS is gonna be a great choice!

amazing video.. I was going to save for an ace pro but now will save that little bit more and get an X4. I may not use the X4 for 360 mainly for the single lens mode but you never know when that moment can happen when you need the 360. again amazing and thank you for making my mind up on what to save for lol....
thanks man! glad u liked it 😎 with the X4 you’ll have the option to shoot in single lens mode like u say, which is basically what the ace pro does but the type of shots u can get with a 360 camera in 360 mode are just mind blowing and ur options are endless so I would defo chose the X4 over the ace pro because you’ll have a single lens mode camera AND a 360 camera. yes the ace pro definitely has it’s strengths, one of them being its low light performance but if u don’t shoot in low light that often you’ll be all good 🙂

Nice work as always. I'm still struggling with the decision to upgrade or not. I have an X3 and an Ace Pro already. What do you think?
thanks man 😎 it is a good upgrade from the X3, side by side the quality, dynamic range ect is visually better on the X4 oh and of course the mics and battery have been upgraded as well. I guess it really depends on how much u use the X3 currently, if u use it a lot and think u would the same with the X4 I would say defo upgrade, if u just use it from time to time and instead use the ace pro more then maybe not worth the upgrade because the X3 is still a useable camera that’ll do the job as and when u need it

Ok, I give in, at last I have subscribed. Sorry for the delay. First, I am really impressed with the audio quality this time. I actually thought that you were using a radio mic. I guess it is possible to keep the camera close for best sound pickup but through reframing to wide angle it doesn't actually look that close. Second, so many of your clips contain excellent material for evaluating resolution, eg wire fences, railings, and the opening shot ofnthe London Eye, where the spokes are just visible despite the distance. Now I will watch the rest!
Edit, concerning the camera comparisons. As always, in terms of apparent resolution on real world shots, the X3 can actually look kind of sharper than the X4. Maybe they sharpen it more. Yes, certain details such as wires against the sky are better on the X4, but otherwise the difference for me is pretty academic. Yes, overall picture quality of the X4 is better, in respect of color and dynamic range, and that for me is what makes the difference. Well done for the first Pocket 3 comparison on youtube! But the reframing wasn't exact enough to draw a firm conclusion. The X4 might have looked less good if zoomed in to the same angle of view as the Pocket 3. But I appreciate that you could spend a lot of time getting that exact.
Overall, as good a video on this camera as any I have seen. Lovely London shots. And I think I have seen hundreds as I vacillate over the X3 X4 upgrade purchasing decision!
welcome aboard 🥳 yeah the audio really really surprised me! like I said in the video I was expecting to have to use an external mic because the X3’s mics weren’t the best so a great upgrade we have here! yes the colors, dynamic range, exposure balance is all massively upgraded on the X4, u can really see the difference when they are side by side. I’ll be doing a proper pocket 3 vs X4 video so I’ll make sure the reframing is more accurate. glad u liked it, stay tuned for more 😎
@@james.loxton While I think of it, the X3 can actually create four separate mic tracks which can be accessed in a way I now forget but I did make a video about it some time ago. I assume that the X4 does the same? It can be used to reframe audio so that left and right match reframed video, for those who have the patience to do so...

As always , thanks sooooo much for the video. Sweetie (my Beer 🍺 Vlogs co-star) and I love all your videos. We just made jump from x2 to x4 and loving it so far. DJI pocket is our A camera for past 50 of 100 BeerVlogs. And that will stay the same. But x4 is a perfect B camera that ALSO can get a BTS angle. Just wish they had a INSTANT pairs 32bit goat recording mic like the Pocket/djimic2 combo.

The X4 is way better than X3, but it still is bad after reframing. Overly sharp in some parts and in others blurry, and when the sun is bright in any direction and you are moving it creates so much aberration and artifacts. It is usable now, because it was not before. I always look at YT reviews and it seems promising. Buy. And it looks bad. In comparison with DJI Pocket 3, it looks fantastic for real, even better than in review in opposition of X4.
