Hey everyone! Today’s FNAF theory revolves around how I think the story of FNAF began and where I think it’s going next. FNAF Security Breach RUIN introduce some cool elements that are touching on the future and past of the FNAF timeline. Scott explaining the lore of FNAF backwards, the concept art of the spring lock suits, AND the constant mention of a circus?! The details are so thought out and John going back into the games, finding things we thought to never think of, amazes me. Why would there be a clown drawn in FNAF 6?!?

Something else of note is during one of the fnaf 3 training tapes, phone guy mentions "temporary costumes" being used after springlock failures put the springlock animatronics unfit for use. He also mentions that questions about their "relevance" should be deflected. I dont know if the temporary costumes mentioned in the tapes of fnaf 3 have any relevance here but they immediately came to mind while I was watching this video.
That could be the outfits contained at the bottom. If FNAF 3 and 6 share a location, then that means the mimic is locked up in the FNAF 3 location, so them having those irrelevant costumes stored down there would make complete and total sense.
However, if they're toted about as "Irrelevant" to the brand, that means they have no affiliation with the previous Fredbears, which means they can't be used as a hint of the Circus Baby's theme being older than Fredbears, which makes a lot of these theories lose a lot of legs
leaving out a bit of information, they were all simultaneous if i remember correctly.

I honestly like more and more where the story is heading. I think Steel Whool have a better idea of where they want to take things, getting closer to their identity as the new FNaF devs. I'm still waiting for HW2 to confirm my statement, yet all these elements about circus and carnival is very intriguing...
No offense but I disagree tho because were the story is heading is making my brain hurt FNAF 1-3 or FNAF 4 is the best in my opinion but after FNAF sister location the story went uh downhill and the lore is complicated now but I do respect your opinion

It makes so much sense that Fazbear ent. bought the carnival and Fredbear's show. Being so far away in the "timeline" it was a little tricky to come with an explanation that was realistic enough, and I think you just found it! Great job John (per usual). btw, amazing work with those animations.
for me that was the only part that was iffy in this theory; why would there be a fazbear entertainment without mascots or animatronics?
It would explain why the original Freddys only had 2 suits that we haven't seen before In the games as of when it was shown and puts the opening of circus baby world around fnaf 1s people pizzeria opening.
@pudgysaurus2829 my take on this is that fazbear entertainment started as a pizza restaurant, heck it probably wasn't even called fazbear entertainment yet.
They probably had the idea to put animatronics into their restaurant maybe to boost marketing and appeal to the restaurant, so they might have the idea when the traveling circus was around the block and bought the entire industry to own everything the circus had, especially the mascot costumes.
And their sudden boom in popularity from their animatronic mascots, the company would rename it to fazbear entertainment, to connect their company to their success from freddy and the gang.
Reading The Silver Eyes now and there is a line where Charlie finds books in Henry’s office about “the traveling carnival and the circus.” So yeah I think this theory is pretty solid. Why else would there specifically be mention of a traveling carnival, instead of just a carnival?
@5:40 You could interpret the words on the poster as "H491940" (its a stretch), Hex 491940 is a deep purple colour.

To add to the Fredbear’s and FNAF6 location connections, Fredbear and Rockstar Freddy are the only two Freddy variants to have a purple hat and bowtie, which is a very interesting link when you consider that the purple hat is very much a key part of Fredbear’s design. It’s mere speculation and likely irrelevant, but it could be possible that Rockstar Freddy was modelled by Henry based off of Fredbear.
Rockstar Freddy also has remarkably similar hands to Circus Baby, though I’m sure other animatronics have this hand shape as well so it’s little more than just an observation.

Funny how in Dawko's interview with Scott when asked about the identity of the SL's night 4 suit Scott decided not to answer that. He could have answered that question since back when interview happened everyone didn't think the suit would be important and were only curious. But now it seems the suit's existence might be important.
because at that time i doubt he had thought out who the suit was. i dont think he was planning it all from the start, he literally made the story up as he went along. the suit wasnt talked about probably because he never put thought into it and never intended it to be important
Hmm, even after MatPat's timeline theorizing a circus being the inspiration, I hadn't considered the possibility of the characters actually being mascots there and shifting to restaurants later.
It makes sense, circuses went out of style, so many ventured into other businesses, so Freddy living on as a pizzeria mascot seems plausible and makes Baby's side of the franchise a lot less random.
Admittedly, I feel that Fredbear is probably a lighter colored Rockstar Freddy considering the cheeks. However, that Freddy does have a purple hat and his band have 5 fingers much like a spring lock suit.
Speaking of that traveling Circus, I kind of had the little idea that before the Pizzaplex was built, the Glamrock animatronics were a bit of a traveling band similar to the On Tour cartoons.
Or maybe they were rented out. Like the Funtimes...

This channel has only gone up over the years, I’m so happy to see new talent is still emerging in Fnaf. These theory videos have been some of my favorites to rival the best of Matpat. Your takes have an air of wackiness that still hold up (and are very much needed in current Fnaf theorising!)
To simplify (I hope I said it right):
Fnaf begins as a carnival park, where mascots were created where both humans and robots could fit in, where we have a brown bear, a blue rabbit, a yellow chicken and a red fox + other costumes.
Then, with the creation of Fazbear Entertainment, the pizzerias following the diner were created, the Fazbear Pizza and the Circus Baby World, where the mascots were recreated as animatrons (I 4 og), while the others were placed in the Circus.
In 1987, with the discovery of the remnat, William reppen the Circus, with the Funtime and the underground, where Elizabeth dies.
After 1993, Micheal goes into Circus Baby and Rental, where on night 4 he is put into one of the other costumes used in the park at the beginning.

I’m gonna be honest, this is probably the best theory as to what’s gonna happen in the next few games, or at least try to portray. It makes sense, and seems like a natural progression of things, clean up the timeline from the earlieest parts and work forward, till the timeline make sense and most of the holes in the plot are filled. As hand unit said in the Help Wanted 2 trailer, “You ain’t seen nothing yet.” God I’m excited for what’s to come with this franchise.
This actually would really well explain why we hear circus music in fnaf 1 on random occasions, that would mean that there is also a carnival near somewhere, or the animatronics were left and rebuilt with a carnival music box so they keep the same attraction present. Well done, FuhNaff.
My Fnaf Theory: The mimic seems like it was built by Edwin, but I have a feeling that he didn’t fully make it him-self, I have a theory that Sarah from into the pit might be the mimic. The description of Sarah makes a lot of sense, Eleanor had turned her into a robot, and the stuff she added to Sarah that reminded me of the mimic are: longer legs, a cheek bone, nails that never grow, and hair. It might not be Sarah, but I wanted to point that out.
How Sarah’s robot could have got to were it is now is kind of a stretch to make. So here’s my theory on it: Afton’s first ideas for Circus Baby’s place was Eleanor, after he’d made her he didn’t like what he made, so he thrown her into a junk yard where Sarah would soon find her. After the story of the book into the pit of Sarah’s story, Sarah finds out the truth and oofs, then Sarah’s mother sold the robot parts, then Edwin bought the parts. Edwin was rebuilding Sarah’s old robot body, so the robot didn’t have its legs yet because Sarah had collapsed and disassembled after her oof. But Afton had also found out that there was robot parts for sale but failed to buy them. So he went to find Edwin’s home, after finding it he took the files of the mimic for his stuff(Circus Baby’s place). After Edwin’s sons de@th, the mimic still mimics his son David. So then Edwin bullied the mimic, the mimic had went to take the limbs off people by mimicking the thing Edwin did. And then other stuff happened to the mimic making it trapped underground. While Afton had the stuff to make his creations we all know about(Circus Baby’s place, making the different Funtime animatronics. Or SL/ Sister Location).
That’s my theory on how the mimic was made and how I think a bit of information on how it got to were it is today. I hope it made sense and I hope you’ve liked it, and remember, it just a theory, a Fish’n’Chipz theory, thanks for reading. (Wasn’t expecting it to be this long lol :3)

Well the travelling aspect makes sense with the four mains considering they were travelling from place to place in the Security Breach teasers cartoons.
This is one of the first theories in a long time that I can actually see becoming a reality, good stuff man

I love this theory! Matpat was on the right track with everything starting with a Circus/Attraction, but I loved how you refined it!
It makes sense that the owners of the Circus would modernize their attraction for a newer generation of people and for future endeavors and eventually we got the start of the animatronics, the division of it, the creation of Fredbear and the main four and Circus Baby, and the locations for each one!
The Help Wanted 2 gameplay that we got from Dawko definitely seems to be alluding to the game taking place (completely or partially) in Circus Baby's Pizza World, especially with the Carousel minigame and the "Bonk-a-Bon" minigame which seem to be stronger evidence to support this theory!
Something interesting to note is that all of the circus themed FNAF merch we got from Funko a few months back depicts the animatronics as seamless with more animated features reminiscent of mascot costumes whereas say the Funko Pops and action figures have traditionally given the characters the segmented look we typically see in fnaf's animatronics. I feel this was a very intentional decision on Funko's part, as they had previously been so dedicated to the very obvious articulation scheme of the action figures/the swapping parts play pattern that they didn't even make Glitchtrap or Vanny seamless. So this makes me think it the unsegmented look was a specific request from the licensor (Scott). It's also important to note that figures that have come out since the circus line feature the classic articulation scheme, so that rules out a shift in design philosophy.
“It’s Me” is a weird phrase. We’ve associated it with Evan, a host of Golden Freddy, who passed on after his Happiest Day in FNAF 3. If the clown signifies that quote, it means there must be some connection. But since Evan should be done, the closest I believe it could be is Cassidy, Golden Freddy’s other host. I’ve believed Cassidy to still be relevant after UCN because they would hunt any traces of Afton down digitally, such as PQ and BB World. In Help Wanted, I believed they were Party Freddy, the only animatronic of that variant. But there’s no explanation on a connection to Circus Baby’s Pizza World, unless it was also the same building as Fredbear’s Family Diner and Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza Place, so Evan’s death technically took place in that clown building, and Cassidy took his quote as a GF host.
I think this is the most spot on you have been so far! The traveling carnival makes a ton of sense and would also be so cool to see portrayed in a game!

The leaked Scott concept art could explain both the nightmare animatronics having 5 fingers, the fact that Nightmare Fredbear has a stomach mouth and also the fact that the crying child "saw something". The nightmares have 5 fingers because the main four started as wearable costumes, and Fredbear was a springlock suit, also having five fingers. What the crying child "saw" was probably the animatronics' stomach hatch; it's just that, since Fredbear had an endoskeleton inside, the mechanical components visible from the outside probably looked like metal teeth to the eyes of a child, and William was glad that he was scared because he knew those things were dangerous machines (in Ruin we see the Mimic throwing a whole forklift like it's nothing, probably all animatronics are this strong or stronger)
This brings my attention something within the books. In the trilogy, Baby might be a reflection on how circus Baby's pizza world fits into the narrative, as Baby in the novels was revealed to be rejected by its creator Henry. though eventually Baby was given a purpose by William. Which I think, might be a symbolic representation of how this video's provided existence of 'travelling circus' might be utilised by Scott and Steel Wool in Help Wanted 2's return to sister location.
Though this is just my interpretation from the information provided and my own knowledge so take this prediction lightly. :>

I'm still subscribed to the idea that Chica is from a different brand, the one Mediocre Melodies are from. She fits in with them *so* much better. I think it's possible Fredbear started as a traveling circus (Or maybe a traveling restaurant for the circus? Pizza and a show?) but Chica is from an animatronics restaurant chain that hosted the Melodies. That's why she first appears during the springlock era where it could be man or machine in it, whereas you have the circus theme hinted before that where even some theorists can pin Sun and Moon. Chica also doesn't fit the theme of the circus, unless you want to argue they sold fried chicken during that era.
This would also explain why Fred, Bon and Foxy are in Sister Location, but Chica wasn't, and was just shown as having a funtime version later as fan service.

I really like this take on it because the circus theme seemed so random when I saw leaked merch designs but now that you put it this way it does seem like circus baby has been circus coded

As a writer, I’m convinced a lot of FNAF fans don’t actually know how storytelling works the longer I listen to them complain. The writing process is generally a lot of thinking up cool stuff then trying to work said cool stuff into a single cohesive piece. 😂
I'm sure someone else said this already, hell it might even be in the video, but there's also that line that was cut from the Security Breach elevators that said "famous William Afton's first designs involved stomach hatches" or something along those lines. Definitely a great vote of support for this theory, even if it was cut.

Firstly, I disagree with the drawing in the office being fredbear. He was never presented with purple cheeks, but I see where you were going to with this tought.
You could had mentioned another (and better) connection between Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place and Fredbear's Family Dinner, such as Rockstar Freddy having purple bowtie and hat and the rockstars having 5 fingers (a thing that just the old springlocks from Fredbear's had. I'm not saying the Rockstars are springlocks, but this is a solid connection).
Scott absolutely teased that the story wasn't over in the last 2 games. Just think about all of the open storylines that still hadn't been solved. Midnight Motorist is still largely unsolved, and how about the Golden Freddy cutscene that plays in UCN with him just fading into darkness still angry?

Edwin didn't create the characters. That's why he called the bear costume 'Freddy Fazbear' and not just a bear. He already had a name. Henry created the characters and designed the suits, Edwin just attached them to the endoskeletons.

I was thinking this while watching, isnt there a tape in fnaf3 that discusses the fact that springlock suits were both animatronic and suit? and then also there was a tape discussing the temporary suits to be used that weren't very relevant. was this perhaps the first game recognition of the circus suits?
