  • Got this Ibanez RGIXL7 baritone 7 string recently and I'm in love with it. I finally get why people love baritone 7s so much. This is all stock and setup in drop F#. It sounds this good out of the box running through Archetype: Gojira on DEFAULT settings. So naturally I pulled the Architects riffs out.

    great guitar, pickups sound a little muddy for how low i tune (at least double c# lmao) but i swapped them out with some d-activators and this thing rips now
    gonna paint it and evertune swap it sooner or later

    Hey man, great playing. I was wondering about getting the 6 string version of this baritone (never had one), the rgrtbb21. I'm also looking to upgrade my main guitar so I could also buy the standard version of these (rgrtb621) but I can only afford one of them. I'd like to get your opinion, should I just upgrade my guitar or get the baritone to expand my 'arsenal' so to speak?

    • @itsMEADOWS
      @itsMEADOWS  Месяц назад

      Hey mate, thanks! Sure. I think it all depends on what you have already and what you want to be able to do. Are you playing heaps of low tuned stuff but your main guitar isn't good for that? Need to cover multiple tunings etc? Like, I have this in drop F# because my other guitars are in standard/drop D, so it fills a need by doing something they can't do. If that's what you're trying to do then filling out your arsenal with a baritone sounds smart! But if your having trouble with your main guitar and it needs upgrading to something and you don't want it dropped super low then maybe the standard version would be best? It's hard to say without knowing the situation

    i get confused. i assumed a baritone is a 6 string with an extended neck. but does that mean that any guitar with extended neck is baritone including 7 and 8s? or is only the 6 string version considered a baritone? anywho great track btw.

    • @Davix-tt9sh
      @Davix-tt9sh 2 месяца назад +2

      any guitar with more than 25.5 inches of scale is a baritone. the longer scale length makes it easier to intonate lower tunings and gives a bit more of tension. most baritones are 27, but you can find 26.5, 28 and 29.4/30. Almost all 8 strings are baritones 27 inches, all 9 strings are, mostly 28 or 30inches

    • @itsMEADOWS
      @itsMEADOWS  2 месяца назад

      Totally understand how that would be confusing! It's pretty much what @Davix-tt9sh said. Usually the baritone threshold is considered to be 27" and above, but a lot of people consider 26.5" to be the threshold. But yes, you're right. Any guitar with a longer scale neck, starting at 26.5"/27" and above is a baritone. 7s, 8s and 9s included!

    Hey big bro u got like a practice routine you follow or something?

    • @itsMEADOWS
      @itsMEADOWS  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hey man! Sorry for the late reply. I don't have a rigid routine anymore, I find it hard to keep to a strict routine between work, writing songs, writing riffs for videos and recording etc. But I do have some exercises and runs I like to drill with a metronome. I run over scales while watching stuff and drinking my coffee. I do a lot of improv and legato practice and I've more recently been trying to work on my alternate picking speed and accuracy with exercises to a metronome. Happy to be more specific if you wanted to DM me on instagram!

    Have you seen a baritone guitar like that with a Floyd? 6 or 7 string?

    • @itsMEADOWS
      @itsMEADOWS  3 месяца назад +1

      Kind of, yeah. Ibanez have a model called the RGDR4327 which is a 7 string with a Floyd and a 26.5" scale length. It's only a half inch shorter than this guitar and it looks VERY similar. It'd be killer if that's what you're looking for!

    • @itsMEADOWS
