    A great help, and good voice. Not the boring monotone that accompanies many tutorial videos. Thanks.

    Thanks, I know how dificult training books can be, they always seem to leave out that small fact that is so vital to know. Hope my films fill that gap.

    You must understand snaps, they will speed up your drawing a great deal. After that look at just drawing lines and other simple stuff.

    Hi Paul, I don’t know whether you’re still advising on TurboCAD. Ive just got Turbocad deluxe after working in AutoCAD for many years. I think I must have made an adjustment to the snap settings as I cannot get the snap to work. I have drawn a single line on a new drawing but cannot snap to the endpoint?? Any advice as to what I may be doing wrong?
    Many thanks
    Joe

    Hi Paul - could you pls clarify how to activate snap to grid, for all commands? I recently upgraded to TC Deluxe from an old (10.5) version. It took me hours to get snap to grid working, and i never knew precisely how i did it. Now it's not working again, and nothing i can see gets it to function. I used to have the same problem in v.10.5 - the snaps to grid function seems fragile and easily switched off accidentally.

    But how do you take the corner of an existing drawing or structure and get it snapped to a Grid point?
    For example, drag and highlight, then pick part of the drawing that you want to sit on a Grid point/intersection. It's driving me mad.
    Snap to Grid, basically. But I move one component and the rest moves off the Grid. Why? It's like the drawing won't stay put while I am editing it. Stay on the Grid please !!!

    How do you zoom in without moving away from the point you want to inspect? When I rotate my mouse wheel I zoom in, but lose the point, then have to search for it.

    • @edjames1664
      @edjames1664 6 лет назад

      The position of the cursor when you are zooming defines where it zooms out from, or in to. So parking your cursor about in the middle of your object before you zoom, generally keeps the object on the same point on the screen as you zoom. If your object is starting to drift off the screen in one direction as you zoom in, move the cursor toward the edge of the screen in that direction while zooming in further. Play around moving the cursor as you zoom in and out and you will quickly get the hang of it.

    So it defaults to ENGLISH units of measurement. Sorry its rare I bust chops like this, but if you are going to lay it at the feet of the United States, that's fine I mean there must be a ton of NON-United States written CAD applications out there for the choosing. Decent English video.
