My girlfriend asked if I wanted to play this game (asking if I would buy it for her) and we ended up buying it. She 100%'d the game over the weekend and had a great time, shes not a very tuned gamer but she loved all the challenges. A great buy for $40.
Honestly I love this game, I love puzzle games and I think toad is adorable. I didn't own a wii u so I'm glad they ported it to the switch. I'm only halfway through and loving it, however I do think its over priced considering I'm speeding through it. Not to say it isn't fun or anything but I'm thinking it should be no more than 30 dollars and even that's pushing it. Oh well.
Toad clapping clips in different games are adorable. Doesnt mean I like the games. Personally I'm not a fan of most Mario games. I haven't liked anything as much as mario 64.

One of the best parts of having a second player who can throw red turnips is helping people who are not good at games. I play a lot of games with my young daughter and my wife who is just getting into video games and being able to stun enemies and point to where they need to go is a very helpful tool.
We picked this game up in 2019 and this by far has been our family's most favorite game on the planet right now. Not to mention another episode has been created and can be downloaded making three episodes so far. This game has a lot of replayability and definitely take longer than 7 hrs to play I hope Nintendo makes at least one more episode to the game.

Yes his recent thumbnails are irritating. If it pisses me off enough when looking at them I just skip the video regardless of what the video covers. He is definitely my switch channel to go to but the "Make me wanna punch his face" thumbnails has got me looking for another switch channel.

The level design of Captain Toad is insane. It is masterpiece for platformers. The fact that he cannot jump narrows the possibilities, and the level design needs to be smart to take these constraints and play with them. On top of that, it is Nintendo, very polished, very cute, hours of game. I love that game, I am so happy that Switch users can enjoy this Wii U exclusive.
The thing about having two toads on the screen is the camera is a super pivotal part of the game. If one person wants to turn right while the other wants to left well that wouldn't work. I guess they could have done split screen but split screen can be pretty tedious in my opinion.

Its a great game one of the best o the U. I have it on my U. I wont be buying the switch version but I will get the 3ds version. I am not putting any U ports, retro, or games not made in the current year on my switch. The reason is there are so many great new games. I will put all old and retro stuff just on my 3ds. Nintendo if you see this take all Gamecube, N64, Wii, and Wii U games you can and put them on 2ds/3ds if you plan to keep the DS line alive for a longer period.
Looking back at this now, it's cool that they've now added in the co-op with 2 people but i'm surprised they didn't add it in from the beginning, i do enjoy the added special episode though. :)

You should have played Captain Toad on Wii U. It's much more comfortable on TV with the Gamepad, touchscreen&gyro. Cleaner version. And you don't have to support that persistent awful blue point everywhere.

Octopath is so neat, i want it so bad. I want to either have it now or buy in the autumn. it just feels like one of those games to play while the autumn leaves are falling off the trees and turning orange.

I agree. I think Nintendo is missing a huge advantage they have by overpricing games. If they released the games at lower prices theyd sell more consoles.
Erase I'm looking at the 2DS/3DS version, and that seems about right for a used copy, or a Nintendo Selects version, but it's current price is too high in my book, and the 2DS/3DS version should have been priced at $30 at most for a new copy with the Switch version at $35 at most, and both of those prices are pushing it.

I played the demo & it's kinda fun. I didn't find a way to invert the camera. Moving the camera up or down was a pain. I'd rather wait for a price drop or purchase used.

I had gotten both Octopath and Captain Toad on the day of released. Even though I already have Captain Toad on my Wii U. And eventually I will be getting Captain Toad for my 3ds. I just love that game so much.
