    Hello :) After which time of practicing one shouldn't be a beginner anymore? Can you Tell that? I think it would bei interesting to many of us. Thank you for your great videos! 😊

    • @JoyLeeViolin
      @JoyLeeViolin  5 лет назад +2

      Hi Joani, it's hard to put an universal time frame for all beginner players, because everyone learns very differently at a different speed. In general when a violinist starts playing the 3rd position, it's a good indication of not being a beginner violinist any more. Generally speaking to be in that level, it would take about 6-24 months. Happy music making!

    Hi Joy, this is Ada...the legally blind student. I'm wondering how often a student has a lesson each week and for how long? I want to learn so badly. I feel that I'm not getting help with technique. I'm on Suzuki book 2 mingon, playing by ear. When should students learn double stops? Thanks so much...i would love to meet you and be your student in person.

    • @JoyLeeViolin
      @JoyLeeViolin  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Ada, good to hear from you again! How have you been? If you want to book lessons with me, please send me an email to " topiaviolins@gmail.com". In general having lessons once a week is a good idea to make sure that you are on the right track. When it comes to double stops, it would be better if the student has learned the 3rd position, so that the left hand is trained for more flexible adjustment. Happy music making!

    My problem is I'm in a class where the music we are doing is much high above my skill level. The entire Mozart 40 Symphony arranged for strings which is always harder and not sounding as good when it's an arrangement plus I'm sitting first chair and I'm the only one there's only nine people playing it plus rutter suite for strings and zampa overture and John Williams night at the cinema all of these things have a high skill level which my skills aren't there so I'm constantly terrified and I don't think I can play it very well even though I do practice it. Working on these things helps me learn a lot but if we're going to do a concert I just don't think I can make it!!!

    • @JoyLeeViolin
      @JoyLeeViolin  Год назад +1

      Dear Debbie, we all experience that at some point of our journey with violin. It would be great if we can work on pieces which reflects our current level of techniques. But if this is not an option, try to focus on playing the first note of each measure in an ensemble , instead of trying to play each and every notes. This will help you to stay better with the ensemble and later you can gradually try to play more notes as your confidence grows. I hope this would help. Happy music making Debbie!
