My heart sank when Brenda said she has retired from performing. I've been a big fan and wanted to see her for 50 years. When she finally came within 60 miles of where I live about 8 years ago, I was handicapped and could not make the trip. I remember seeing that concert advertised on a local billboard and broke down and cried. But I hung onto the hope that I would have another chance. It just wasn't meant to be. But thank heavens I still have all of the records and imagine she is performing when I play them.
Brenda Lee is so very sweet and truly humble. I wish you had been able to see her but she has definitely earned her right to retire and enjoy doing the rest of her life her way. I did get to see her in San Antonio TX early 90's, it was a banquet type event, she is absolutely precious ❤I would like to get her vinyl. Its pink and she said available at Target. She will still do benefits ❤❤❤
I was a little girl when I first heard your songs, I'm now 72 and still listen to your songs. Been singing them for decades at karaoke. You hooked me on "Brenda Lee's Top Teen Hits". Thank You.
What a "neat" lady! I am so glad I was born in 1950 and lived through the greatest music of all times, and the performers. Brenda Lee, what a powerhouse voice!
Hi Brenda. Your cousin, Linda T, myself & 3 other close friends of ours, took a weekend trip to Nashville from here in Athens, GA , back in the mid 1990's & I will never forget the five of us walking thru the Opry Hotel & everyone that noticed Linda walking with us, kept stopping Linda, (thinking she was you) & asking for your autograph!!! LOL!! 😂 We had the best time with her over that! Because she looks like your twin!!😊 God bless you, Brenda! I've been a huge fan of yours from the very start!! Much love & prayers! 🙇♀️🙏💜
I was able to see and say hi to Brenda when she performed at the EMS club in Germany at the Army base in the 60s. I'm 80 years old and still a fan. Happy birthday Brenda. Ray
Oh I truly love Brenda Lee. She is just as normal today as she was when she first started out. What a voice. People today just don't have voices like Brenda Lee! God bless you, Brenda. We love you and always will.
. . 💰 She looks priceless, beautiful vocalist, she’s an American treasure✔ so funny how for no reason at all I thought of her the other day and it was her birthday just 5 days ago too 🤷🏻♀ Elvis spoke highly of her in many interviews ✨Bless Brenda Lee ✨
Being from hapeville ga and a jazz clarinetist -- Brenda being from conyers ga -- Iloved it when the album Brenda and Pete came out on DECCA Records -- Now thats Brenda like you have never heard her before -- She went to Pete Fountain`s club in New Orleans --- Being a fan of Pete`s he called her up on stage and they several songs together --- Itwas such a big hit --They decided to do an album together --- It was such a hit i remember WKLS in Atlanta playing it quite a bit --- Being a clarinetist i had to get that album -- The chemistry between them is fantastic because both of them are very humble ,gracious and havent forgot where they came from -- Unfortunately Pete passed away in Aug 2016 but i am so glad Brenda is still ALIVE and KICKIN -- HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY BRENDA --
Who, having grown up in the 50s, doesn’t hear “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”; in any store in the country during Christmas time? I just heard that song 2 days ago while shopping with my husband. And her song with Alvin & The Chipmunks. Adorable.
Well great 2 hear about 5his great voice..i m a sr plus.,now but i was in orlando wen i got 2 see her in 1961,,in summer ..i had just had my 16th birthday and dad dropped me off at bldging 4 her pe4formance..it was great.as think we r about same age..i hav al2ays loved the song rockin around the xmas tree... merry xmas,yall..❤❤❤❤
She looks great for her age my husband said it's not Christmas with out singing rockin around the Christmas tree we seen her in person great lady! We live in Nashville too and my birthday was dec 16th I'm 77, happy birthday to you you don't look 80 God bless you ! Merry Christmas and happy new year
One of my y first real records was Brenda Lee's 45 "I'm Sorry". That was a time when we had to go downtown to shop, and her record was my treat that day. I thought she was so cute because she was short like me. My mom was a music lover, and I learned to appreciate many styles of music. I still have many vinyl records, and I also agree the sound is better. It has a warmth to me that cds and tapes do not have.
My son just gave me a record player to replace the one that I can't seem to fix. I've got a stack of vinyl here needs playing, and I never get my 45s out without searching for my Brenda Lee records first.
Without question, “Coming on Strong” is my absolute favorite Brenda Lee song-in a career chock full of great songs. I don’t know if it’s the arrangement (with the combination of her singing and the brass), but that is one “sad song” which never fails to bring a smile to my face. As to her nickname, “Little Miss Dynamite”, Brenda Lee is living proof that big things truly do come in small packages. And that song makes the case.
I love my little Santa Claus that I have had for 20 years and still works, doing his little movements to Brenda singing Rocking Around The Chistmas Tree. Love and Blessings To You Brenda Lee.
I am 73 and I remember listening to "ALL ALONE AM I" ON THE JUKE BOX IN THE BOWLING ALLEY AS A CHILD. DID YOU EVER KNOW A PERSON NAMED AS CHARLES A. WRIGHT IN THE EARLY 1960"S? SOME TOLD ME HE KNEW YOU❤
Brenda Lee, A few years back while getting a hair cut in Murfreesboro The stylist in the next booth spoke up. I had given a Card from a Band I played with at Graceland from 2013-2019 E weeks. TCB stuff backing a couple talented singers. She said, My Grandmother said you backed her before. I had back several people so I ask her who was your Grandmother and she said Brenda Lee. I told her we also went to Maplewood High School. I went in the sixties. I am so proud to see you. I was hoping you were still going good. I never played Opryland but I did build a lot of work in the park. Super for JB Regen and Boone before being Licence as a Contractor. I recorded some at Globe and played Ernest Tubs ShowRoom back in the day. Still play sometime now as a fill. I didn't tour. A Fender Twin or Super is to heavy to roll back to Nashville. So Glad to know you're going and looking good. I now live in Murfreesboro. Thanks to the VOAmusic for this interview of a Super Star Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow and Forever. 73's
Saw Brenda in person in Las Vegas many years ago. My friend, Tony Ferra introduced me to her in her dressing room after that show. He was like a second father to her. Been a fan since I saw her on The Lawrence Welk Show❤️
I've seen Brenda Lee 4 times. The first time was in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦 I think she was about 16, and she had on the pink dress. She is awesome.

I wonder if she knew Buddy Holly and if she played w him ever .She says she’s in the rockabilly hall of fame and she was famous in the 50s so she must’ve known the Crickets
I am named Brenda Lee after Ms. Brenda Lee! I always dreamt of being a country singer like her (and many other women of country music in the 60's and 70's).
I think for this Holiday Season into the New Year we should put down our electronics and dig out our old Radios and I’m sure we can find Stations that will interest Us again . The good ole days .
All the greatest performers play for the audiences and not for the glory for themselves. I'm glad at 80. she still has her mental facilities, not like our current President. because of my older brother and sister, I remember her early hits. Most kids my age wasn't into pop music.
Got to say, I've got a Brenda's greatest hit album that was released back at the time. I don't really play it because I prefer the singles, all.of which I have, so I'm not sure if it says" Greatest Hits" on the sleeve. But that's what it is, her first greatest hits album from around sixty years ago. I know it's possible for stuff to get released without the artist knowing, it happened with Sun artists in the seventies and thereabouts. But I'm thinking Brenda has just forgotten.
Like Lee. Voice. Alone am I. On,y. 16. Second. Favorite. Female. I. Fancy. Cline. But. These 2. Millions miles. From. No1 main. Elvis. No1. Greatest. Rest Millions. Miles. Apart.
At 3½ minutes in, I'm struggling to hear what Brenda is saying when music is playing simultaneously, so I'm going to move on. 😢 Wish it were either music (so I could enjoy it) or Brenda's dialog. So frustrating. 😡
How old in photo on greatest hits alb7m..i will look 4 it...i hav all my 45s and albums of my teen yrs..hav connie francis..t3lling my rock n rolls age,...,chuck berry..elvis..dion..etc..,..best music,ever..twist. w chubby ch3cker.,etc..😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤.

Grew up in GA and remember Brenda on local Atlanta station on Jon Farmer show! I turned 80 also in November so followed her and loved her music!
I was a little girl when I first heard your songs, I'm now 72 and still listen to your songs. Been singing them for decades at karaoke. You hooked me on "Brenda Lee's Top Teen Hits". Thank You.
My mama dearly loved Brenda Lee. She's gone now, but I will always remember how she listened to her on the radio.
Don't tell Brenda Lee she's dead. She's 80 years old and resides in Atlanta, Ga.
@ I was talking about my mother, read the sentence again.
What a "neat" lady! I am so glad I was born in 1950 and lived through the greatest music of all times, and the performers. Brenda Lee, what a powerhouse voice!
It's wonderful that Brenda Lee is joyfully giving interviews. She a powerhouse and so respectful.
Thank You Brenda for giving me joy over the last 50 of my lile with your amazing voice❤
I can’t imagine the world without Brenda Lee’s music .

My favorite cut from the album is Basin Street Blues. The album is very underrated, like many of her albums
Awesome talent....real person...she is awesome....

I didn't grow up in the 50s but I still don't believe anyone can sing that song like she did. She has my favorite version by far
I loved watching this program. She was one of my favorites! She's a little older than me but I remember hearing her music in the late 50's. ❤

Yes Ma'am, you certainly do still have an audience. Your singing and stage presence are spell-binding.
My son just gave me a record player to replace the one that I can't seem to fix. I've got a stack of vinyl here needs playing, and I never get my 45s out without searching for my Brenda Lee records first.

Coincidentally I'm cleaning her first 45rpm to record/restore, "I'm Gonna Lasso Santa Claus", from when she was 9. Had to watch!
How do you clean and restore these old records.
@lindatimmons3675 Scrub with cotton pad soaked in reverse osmosis water, washed in an ultrasonic machine, then recorded onto a computer program that I can remove scratch and noise

The 50/s were the greatest
I co-wrote a Christmas song on her album called “Christmas will be just another lonely day.
Love you Brenda Lee
I always wondered if Brenda Lee ever performed with Wayne Newton ?
I imagine she got away with singing love songs at 10 or 11 is because she sounded 20 or 30 on the radio.
All the greatest performers play for the audiences and not for the glory for themselves. I'm
glad at 80. she still has her mental facilities, not like our current President. because of my
older brother and sister, I remember her early hits. Most kids my age wasn't into pop music.
