Brenda is a national treasure. I am 71 now, and remember seeing her on tv way back in the 60’s and recognized how talented she was. Now I can see how wonderful of a person she is. What a gem.
77 here and feel the same!! Not Christmas without 🎄Rockin’🎄!!
You are Absolutely Right‼️‼️‼️
@@jamesdubey1092 I also miss Darlene Love singing "Christmas (Baby please Come Home)” every year on David Letterman .
@JC-du6sn unable to find that info and I don’t own the book and not sure where you’re going with this. If it’s Christmas is about the birth of Jesus, you’re absolutely CORRECT. That’s all it’s about. My personal favorite is “O Holy Night”
Same here and I'm older than you. I don't know what she means about Rockin' not popular. It was in my home town.
She hasn’t lost her sweetness! I love how she won’t say negative things about people. She truly is kind.
The incredible Brenda Lee. Icon. Living legend. Let's appreciate her.
I worked at The Country Music Hall of Fame a few years ago, and I'll never forget one day when Brenda Lee came by and she was so sweet and said hi to everyone she walked past.
I really hope she`s in the Rock and roll hall of fame as well?
@@yellyman5483 she needs to be
She is a legend. I'm so jealous!
To this day "I'm Sorry" is still one of my all time favorite songs. I bought the 45 when I was around 13 or so and I played it over and over. Glad Brenda is still doing well.
"All Alone Am I" is also a tear jerker. "Dum dum" was a fun catchy tune too.
Rocking around the Christmas tree is my favorite Christmas song and no one can sing it like her when It comes on the radio I turn the volume up ❤
Brenda Lee I love you!!! Rocking around the Christmas tree is my all time Favorite!!!❤️
She is as genuine as they come and I love the chemistry between her and Bobby.
Love her being able to enjoy this moment.
Her voice was a blessing as she became the bread winner of her family at 10 years old.
Her father was killed in a construction accident when she was 8.
Brenda is a freak of nature! A rare one of a kind natural born power house singer with the ability to pick great songs and add all her dynamics at such a young age, she is a real inspiration and if you want to be a singer, listen to lots Brenda and dream on! Thanks for all your music Brenda🥰
I remember hearing Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’” on the radio when I was a child, back in the early 70’s. I remember being amazed when my father told me that she was about my age when she made that record. Her voice sounded like an adult! (In that way, she was like Judy Garland whose singing voice was also older than her years.). I enjoyed this interview so much!!
Brenda has always been one of my most favorite artists. What an amazing voice!
I remember hearing “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” every Christmas growing up in the 60’s & 70’s. It was a classic long before Home Alone. That movie just introduced it to a whole new generation.
I try not to idolize anyone. However, Brenda Lee...man she deserves so much more recognition than the recognition she received even this year. She truly is my all time favorite female artist.
Same here. What incredible timing and emotion in her voice. And so much rhythm in her movements.
Brenda is such a treasure. Loved her then and love her more now!!!
It has always been one of my first and favorite CHRISTMAS songs. I can't have CHRISTMAS without it !!❤❤❤
100% 💯 ❤❤❤
Wow, first time seeing her in an interview. I don't know what I expected, but I didn't expect her to be so sweet. How refreshing!
I’m 72 and I’ve just loved Brenda Lee since I was a very young girl. She was very young as well. 😂 Saw her the first time at our county fair long ago and saw her in Pigeon Forge, TN just a few years ago. She was sick but she still gave it her all. Congratulations Brenda!! 💜💜💜
Beautiful inside and out, God bless her, wonderful voice ❤
We had it on a Christmas album when I was a kid. I'm 59. Have loved to sing and dance to this song every year.
Brenda Lee's song has always been my favorite Christmas song! Nobody else can sing it like her! I am so happy more generations are hearing her song!
I had the opportunity to meet Brenda Lee. What an amazing, wonderful woman. She is the same on stage or off Stage so thankful for the time with her.
"All alone am I" was my favorite and it drove my mother crazy. Wish I had kept my albums. Loved her energy on the Christmas show.
Love that song too!
I LOVE BRENDA LEE. IT'S NOT CHRISTMAS UNTILL I HEAR THE GREAT, WONDERFUL BRENDA LEE SING. THANK YOU, AND GOD BLESS YOU.
IMO I’m 78 and always remember those songs when I was a child!!!! ????
Me too..sweet nothins
Brenda Lee interview. Oh this is a gift! Ms. Lee had tons of hit records way beyond "rockin". A fine singer!
I just love her ♥️ she’s so real & talented!
Yay!! She’s still alive and still very sweet!!! ❤❤❤
Loved this interview. What an amazing woman ❤️❤️🙋♀️
Absolutely the Queen of Christmas!
You got that right 😊 she will always be the queen of Christmas ⛄🎄
One of the last living legends in music history. It's just hard to imagine, a little Brenda Lee traveling in car caravans with Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and another of our living legends, Wanda Jackson. What a sweet lady. She crossed genres and thankfully she's in the three Halls of Fame and has gotten her recognition for her contribution to music. Find another person who had the Beatles as HER opening act. The top selling female artist of the 1960's.
Brenda lee is my all time favorite singer...bar none. I listen to her songs everyday...for real!
There is something about her voice that actually captures my heart and just won't let go.
She heads my heart!
I grew up with Brenda's music. She was always one of my favorites. Congratulations on Rockin. It doesn't surprise me. It's well deserved.
That song was my favorite way before Home Alone ❤
Mine too!
17:25: Miss Lee once said that has enjoyed visiting Japan not just for the interactions with the people and the sights there but also that she liked to buy adult clothes off the rack in the stores there instead of the usual deal of needing to have her clothes and shoes specially made for her due to her small stature!
Thanks for this interview with her!
It reached number 6 in the hit parade in England when it was released in 1962. It was played constantly at Christmas time afterwards, long before Home Alone.
I loved the song I'm Sorry. My husband and I grew up dancing to your music at mg high school rock hops. Rocking was a wonderful song to do the bop to. Great moving song.my husband played your music in his workshop making furnitue.. Our grandkids hung around him listening to your music. Thank you for giving us so many wonderful memories.
This was great! Love Brenda Lee! Great stories..just a normal gal! God bless you, Brenda Lee.
I am from Georgia too, remember her on Stars for Tomorrow. I love her whole Christmas Album that came out all those years ago. Never seam like Christmas unless you had Brenda Lee album playing while we decorated 18:57 the tree!
I ❤’d this interview!! And Brenda is AMAZING!!! 🎶 ❤‼️
Always my favorite secular Christmas song Rockin Around the Christmas Tree before the movie. Love all if Brenda Lee's songs. All the oldie are on you tube.
I know her as Jambalaya! Her version is THE BEST! Check it out! And that song was in the movie Steel Magnolias.....Brenda Lee is the greatest! Love her!
❤I love Brenda. Your song Rockin was, is my favorite.🎄
I love her. Such a sweet down to earth person. She is best friends with my husband's aunt.
I loved "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" song since I first heard it back in the 60's. My favorite singer was Brenda Lee. I practiced and practiced to try to sing like her even though I didn't have the talent.
Absolutely beautiful woman inside & out!! Definitely someone to look up to 💙
Lovely and talented Brenda, I’m 82 and have her music on my car radio system.
My favorite Brenda Lee tune is All Alone Am I. Brenda Lee deserved to be back at #1 after so long.
I've loved all Brenda's songs over the years (Comin' On Strong, I Wanna Be Wanted, etc), and all her Christmas songs, but my FAVORITE Christmas song by her is Papa Noel, which l think was the b-side to Rockin'... so upbeat & "toe-tappy"! Definitely worth checking out!👌🏆❤️
I've loved the song "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" since it first came out and I'm 68. My 6 yr old granddaughter loves that song too. She plays the video all the time and sings along. I love all her songs, especially "Heart In Hand", "All Alone Am I", "I'm Sorry" and "I Want To Be Wanted".
This was a great interview. She's such a nice genuine person. Bless her! ❤
Not Christmas until this song plays ❤ thanks for the music 😊
The interviewer did a great job asking good questions, and bringing out Ms. Lee's personality. A really great interview.
Such a beautiful, talented smart and sweet lady. Next time Bobby don't mention the poop, but very interesting and enjoyable interview. Congratulations Brenda Lee on the no. 1 Christmas song of 2023. 🏆🏆 🏆
Brenda is absolutely my all time number one.
I love Brenda Lee I have all her music ❤❤❤

There will never be another Brenda Lee, she is a star in the true meaning of the word. The pleasure she has brought to countless millions is immeasurable and yet she remains the grounded, modest, sheer-fun lady she has always been. Thank You Ms Lee for the priceless memories and immeasurable pleasure. I’m a 74 year old Brit whose life has been blessed with your special magic. Thank you and God Bless You always dearest lady. Marion, UK.
What a talent ...She has such an amazing voice......GOD BLESS this woman !
I have met her and she is as sweet as she seems and doesn’t meet a stranger.
Her voice stil sounds great love to hear her talk shes still a cute lil doll love her so mush love you brenda
Thanks for posting this as we see nothing of Brenda in the UK now
Ha! I remember sleeping up on that shelf by the back window in the car (a Lincoln Zephyr!) as a very little girl, probably 5 yrs old. The upholstery was extremely scratchy & uncomfortable. But I felt so safe with my mom and dad in the front seat.
Bless Brenda’s heart. What a legend, a genuine lady & an unmatched talent.
I love Brenda! All of her songs are great! I’m 80 and remember when Rocking around the Christmas tree was a hit. It was always played on Bandstand for their Christmas show and it was played on the radio a lot.
Thank you, Bobby. This was delightful.
Yea but what's up with his hair?
She went to my high school, God bless her❤.
The OG Queen of Christmas!
I love her! Great interview!
I loved Brenda Lee from the very beginning I saw her on stage performing "I'm Sorry", which to me is her signature song. Merry Christmas Miss Lee. We love you.
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree - Brenda Lee, forever.I love this song sung by you, Brenda. I always listen to it. Winter and Christmas holidays are with me when I listen to you.Aurelia
Brenda Lee came to Okinawa for a USO show at the Airmans Club at Naha AFB. She has always been a favorite of mine. The year would have been like 1965-66.
It’s one of my favorite Christmas songs. Even when I was a kid it was my favorites and one of the first songs I learned on the 🎷
CAN'T WAIT FOR BRENDA LEE ON THE BOBBY CAST.
Oh wow the foreign language songs surprised me. I did not see that comming from this little country lady 👍🏼👍🏼
1:30- Yep! Home Alone was where I first heard the song!
Congratulations, her done is number 1 Christmas song
she’s so modest- Rocking around the Christmas Tree WAS a massive Christmas hit - played all over the world throughout all these years. And certainly it was not for no reason that it was chosen for the movie Kevin alone at Home
yes, that's what i think too. We listened to this growing up all through the 60s and 70s
I didn't know if she was just being modest or had forgotten. I noticed she repeated herself some. She turned 79 on December 11th.
She's good natured., and deserves all her success.
She was 9 years old when she singed rockin around Christmas Tree not 14 I believe her more then anyone else she’s the best singer for this song
She is so sweet... thank goodness she had a mom that looked out for her bsest interests... that us absolutely crazy that Patsys plane went down so close to Brenda's backyard. Saw her with my grandparents at the Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City, Or in 2001, I believe. ❤
It didn’t. Patsy Clines plane went down in Camden , TN, West TN. Love her.
She's amazing.
Brenda Lee is awesome❤
What a great interview.
Love to hear her songs, lovely lady
Love you Miss Brenda, you keep us Rockin ...
what a great interview
She is so fantastic! I love her singing "Dynamite" when she was a little girl. And so much energy!
Love hearing her stories! She can bear her soul one minute and then make you laugh the next. She was a child prodigy, is a natural born performer and God has blessed her. Because of her immense talent she experienced so much and paved the way for so many female singers. Would love to hear more!
Great interview with Brenda! Thanks for putting it on!
BRENDA LEE JUST AS SWEET & PRETTY AS ALWAYS LOVE HER
A great Christmas Song sung by an elegant gracious lady.
I got to meet and talk with Brenda back in the early 90’s at her concert in Hershey Park Pennsylvania. She’s the same now as she was then and with me being 80yo now, I told her I had a major crush on her when I was 14. We talked about the show and she said she has every audience sing along to “Rockin Around the Christmas Tree,” no matter the time of year, it was July. It worries me that it looks like some thing is wrong with her health because of her weight gain. I have Multiple Sclerosis and have trouble keeping weight off. Still love her tho, in my own way by listening to her sing to me via my CD’s. God Bless You Brenda and I wish you many more years of happiness.
When she sings the line about pumpkin pie, it sounds like something else. My friends and I all sing it the way we think it sounds. We should all have some f’ing pie every now and then.
I thought the same and had to go and listen to the lyrics. LOL!
My tainted mind hears that too. I’ll have some funkin pie for you 😂
She's saying "punkin pie". It's from her Southern accent.
Love you, Brenda and your music. Thank you for your sharing of Brenda ❤
Great interview Bobby.
So great to see she's still alive. And very alert too.
I was working for a large retail store in Nashville in 2015 when Brenda walked in to buy home goods and I assisted her. I knew exactly who she was but I kept it professional and did not geek out and fawn and just treated her respectfully like any customer. Not a great story, just a brush with the famous.
Im 47 years old and never forgot Brenda Lee. 🎉
Good to see Brenda Lee on here this podcast radio 📻 she's cute sweet and kind all in one with that helmet hair. She's a icon the shortest singer in history to be still alive in her late 70s. Thanks for sharing. Rock around the Christmas tree 🎄 is now or it has all this year 65. It was back in 1958, I have a friend that's 65 and he is an antique dealer he has an engineer degree from University of Louisville in the early 1980s. Thanks for sharing this. Merry Christmas 🎄 y'all.
That's crazy that's she's still alive
78 too. That's young too
