    Thanks for the vid I’m going in 2025 you definitely made my choice so many Mauy thai gyms was tough to decide I will definitely be coming here in February or march I plan to do a months training 👍👍. Time to start saving. Do you have plenty of time to explore if you’re just wanting to do one class and private session? As I’m not looking to fight?

      Yooooo! Congrats, so it just depends on how much experience you have, how fit you are and age. They do smaller fights at the gym that are for newer fighters that you can probably do. Either way will be a blast!

      @@Rururu-ci5dl just reach out to them ahead of time and they can give you some requirements for training, etc. You're at a good age for it but also depends on size. They have a harder time finding really big guys so just let them know before you train there.

    great review, how did you find the journey from that hotel to the gym? and also getting back to the hotel of an evening. On Street view it looks dark and abit of an alley?

    • @LostandLore
      @LostandLore  2 года назад +1

      to chateau de lamai it is a side street that is maybe a block off the main road. There are lots of locals who live down that road so it's pretty safe. It does look dark at night but there are street lights. Unfortunately, if you stay outside of Lamai beach everywhere you stay will be a little bit dark at night. I've never heard of anyone having any issues with safety at night though. Hope that helps

    • @LostandLore
      @LostandLore  2 года назад

      food is very reasonable if you eat at local spots like Nanas or Daras. Can eat a full meal for less that $4 or more western places for around $10 for an all-included meal.

    Thank you so much for the insight. I am wondering if lamai is the right place for me. Dont get me wrong punch it looks amazing but i am 29 years old and dont want to spend a month in a town full of old sex tourists. Could you maybe give a little bit more insights about lamai? :)

    • @LostandLore
      @LostandLore  Год назад +1

      haha that's a funny question! so on Lamai, there is a street where yes that is the case. It's the same in Chaweng. But the island is massive! Is sex tourism there? Yes. Can you avoid it, yes. Just don't go out in those parts of town. You still might see some old dude with a young Thai girl on a bike together or at a restaurant. But overall, there is a large expat community there that isn't involved in that. There are tons of places to go to avoid it as well as a large outdoors + healthy community. I love Koh Samui because of the many hikes, temples, and beaches where you can avoid these things. Plus the locals are super kind outside of those areas plus the costs are lower. Hope this helps you out!

    Hey man, few questions
    - Did you work from your room in Punch It accommodation or do they have a lounge/office area?
    - Are there any co-working spaces nearby?
    - Does Punch It have a weight lifting area?

    • @LostandLore
      @LostandLore  Год назад +1

      yo, yes so I worked from my room, and went to a place called Annie's, or a few other cafes in the area.
      There's not really a lounge/office area to work from. There weren't any coworking spaces previously in the south but on the north side, there were a couple. The new Punch It cafe could probably serve as a coworking space. It's not a perfect situation overall but it's doable.
      Yes, they have a weightlifting area, it's not gold's gym by any means but it has everything you need.
      Hope that helps!

    You mention it's possible to have an amateur fight. What is needed to accomplish this?

    • @LostandLore
      @LostandLore  2 года назад

      reach out to Punch It ahead of time and take to Markus. He will give you an idea of if you can fight in the arena or do a smaller fight. It will depend upon your age, fitness level, and fighting experience. If you have some solid experience already and you are in your 20s, you can at least do a smaller fight at the gym. More experience and you can get a fight in the stadium on the island.

    Hope you reply to this, I am so divided between Punch-It Muay Thai and Tiger Muay Thai, any tips to help me decide?

    • @LostandLore
      @LostandLore  2 года назад

      i didn't train at tiger muay thai so can't say what that experience was like. I think it also depends on what level of fighter you are. At punch it you are going to find some great hospitality and great trainers. If you are a semi-pro or pro then I would suggest investing in private lessons as they will be able to work with you on improving where you want to. Tiger Muay Thai is a lot bigger and seems like they have a really good program for the highest level of fighters. So if you want to do professional fighting or professional MMA training then Tiger is probably the place to go but if you're not a professional fighter then I would look at Punch it. Koh Samui is a smaller island than Phuket too but I found that I enjoyed that everything was a bit closer. Let me know which place you end up choosing.

    this looks fantastic but, to be frank, Im a bit weary of digital nomads giving reviews because you/they have an incentive to be overwhelmingly positive because of the perks you enjoy for promoting them. Am i wrong?
    Would be smart to mention what you;re getting from this like many reviewers who are sent free stuff

    • @LostandLore
      @LostandLore  2 года назад +1

      hi, thanks for you comment. I'll be frank, all of my reviews are not compensated whatsoever. I have been to this gym 3x in 4 years and I really enjoy the challenging experience. It's not for everyone but it is fun for those who want to try it out. If you review my other videos like Taghazout, I am very positive except for how I feel like maybe women wouldn't always feel comfortable alone there. If you listen to my Selina Porto review, it's mostly positive except for that I didn't like being in a dorm with backpackers. I made the suggestion that they would open up a long-term stay dorm or DN dorm for people who are utilizing co-living. Just wait until my Florence and Zostel videos are finished...those are not very positive reviews at all. So...to answer your question. I'm not like the rest of the digital nomad BS creators who get paid to leave positive reviews. I hope that you found this video to be valuable and that you get the opportunity to train at Punch It gym.
