I know of a guy who ties a safety line to his car and his wife forgot what he was doing and decided to go grocery shopping. He was dragged off the roof and fell about eight feet, not seriously hurt only because he landed on his feet and his wife stopped when she heard the loud yell. Disconnect the battery cable if anyone else has keys to the car or if in a bad neighborhood where it might get stolen :(

please tell us what is wrong with it. sliding off the side of the roof seems like one issue, but that's probably avoidable with careful attention to your position on the roof and where you place the anchor.
