Stevie started recording at the age of 7, he has more songs than you can count.
Bruvs, the damn algorithm has you all buried. Glad I found you all again!
This is from 46 years ago... and will never get old. Never.
Stevie Wonder is a goddamn musical genius. That's a fact
Stevie was one of the few artists who deserved the title of musical genius. He was touched by God
One of the worlds legends, I grew up listening to Stevie, super talented and his musical career speaks for itself, one of his best albums is by far “Songs in the key of life”,
It's beautiful to see yung'uns feeling the greatness of the elders
Stevie Wonder is in his early seventies. He started singing for Motown at the age of twelve years old. Started writing his own music when he was in his late teens. He is a genius.🌹
stevie wonder is BRILLIANT !!!!!!!! what is sad is that the lyrics to "LIVING FOR THE CITY" still are extremely relevant today just like they were in 1972 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Empathy is our greatest treasure, and you guys are rich of it. I hope you'll never lose your treasure.
SO very true. You really can feel the empathy as these two react to one of Stevie's masterpieces. You can tell they're not just listening to the musicality, but also to the MESSAGE of the song.
He is a living legend, beyond his many hits, discovered so many others like 4 time Grammy winner Deniece Williams, Minnie Ripperton, and wrote so many great songs. The “Songs in the Key of Life” album is a masterpiece. (and lots of jokes (he is in on) about him being blind too). A true icon
Love your honest reaction .I rember listening to for the first time at age 13. I was shocked at the racism It still moves me to tears. Hard to believe it is actually worse now. sad state of affairs, Being a white 62 yr. old With mixed grandchildren I am ashamed at the world we are leaving the next generation.
wow me too. I still have a hard time listening to this song. But it's brilliant, classic and pure perfection.
let the glow be in your heart
I’m glad you played the full version. There’s a shorter version that cuts out the entire last part of him going to NYC & what happened to him!
"His father works some days for 14 hours, and you can bet he barely makes a dollar..." Welcome to America... Where workers are exploited while the rich get richer.
Yes great social comments. And exposes the abusive system in work places. In the Far East they may be making athletic shoes for big companies, but 3 months wages cannot make them buy 1 pair of what they are making.
Rich getting richer is a rule of nature just like having more cows produces more milk. What matters is that they don't get richer at the expense of others.
Makes me sad because it’s true 😌😌😌😌
@@margaretwaters5579 Do you even listen or not?
This song brings you right to the street, you’re right there watching it play out. Still watching it play out in America 💕
And sadly so much still so true today. What a great song.
Stevie Wonder has his own place in music and our souls. Please share more.
One of the greatest, EVER!!
He plays all the instruments too
don't forget he play's every instrument in the song also
You would be surprised to know that George Michael and Stevie were close. George recorded many of Stevie’s songs including ‘As’ with Mary J Blige and ‘You and I’ as a wedding present for Prince William and Kate Middleton.
He is......good!🥰🥰🥰🥴
Another of my favorites of his is "If"...they DON'T make many with as much talent as Mr. Stevie Wonder in my opinion
I am guessing you mean either "As", or "If Ever". But I don't recall anything in his catalog by the name "If". Janet Jackson...on the other hand... ;)
My bad I apologize..."As" is correct
@@makkimontoya7849 It's good, we all learn about new things. Do check out "If Ever" though. You might like that one too. He originally gave it to John Denver in the early 80's, but dusted it off and sang it himself for the "Down in the Delta" soundtrack.
@@StillOneder I Thank You both and wish You good health and happiness🤗🙏
Sam, to answer your question, I don't know how many songs in total Stevie Wonder did but I can tell you he has released 23 studio albums, 3 soundtrack albums, 4 live albums, 11 compilation/greatest hits albums and 1 career spanning box set. He has released 98 singles throughout his career, 10 of which reached #1 on the U.S. pop charts and 20 that reached #1 on the R & B charts.
Wow mind blowing thank you for the information we appreciate it
You're welcome
Thanks Michael F for the information about the great Stevie Wonder. I mean people listen to "Superstition" and that's it. As if he has done nothing else. People don't have time for greatness anymore. Thanks a million for the donation Michael F .
To add, we don't think much of the hundreds of songs he has contributed to or given to other artists. At one point, it was remarked that during his "classic period" between '72 - '75, they recorded "...well in excess of 250 songs..." for the 4 albums that came out during that block of time. If you figure that maybe 40 of those songs were used, there were still well over 200 songs UNUSED.
His band members would state something like that with Songs in the Key of Life, where they reference "We all know what's in the can", IOW what they THREW AWAY/didn't use for the album. Same with Characters where Stevie had 30 "finished" songs, in which he only used 12. One of those was a duet with Michael Jackson that has yet to see the light of day.
@@onewxrldmusic7303 Agreed. The full Stevie experience is to start with Music of my mind and end at Songs in the key of life knowing that he had somehow done the impossible.
Aside from keyboards Stevie also played drums on the whole album.
Wow, you two aren’t playing around today 😃 started off with two straight bangers! Great reaction too!
I love Stevie Wonder. This is one of my favorites. I have his CD.
Superstition is another great one.
The story that Stevie Wonder included in the song "Living in the City" is that people of color experienced being falsely accused. I know someone who experienced this, and he is still in prison. What makes the story even more disturbing is that the person who was guilty of the crime came forward and admitted to the crime yet the system still would not let that innocent man out of jail. The Flower 🌹
One of my favorites. Thanks
Micheal Jackson was in the Jackson 5 while Steve made a great deal of his music at Motown records and Steve even used the Jackson 5 as backup singers. Therefore Micheal sounds like Steve. Steve was a huge influence on Micheal.
Michael was in the studio watching and studying stevie on many occasions in the 70s / theres a pic of young Mike in the studio while Stevie was working watcing Stevie like a hawk !!!
Jamel_AKA_Jamal sent me here!! I look you guys up and first thing I come across is this.....Stevie is one of the main reasons why I play keys....new subscriber by the way....If Jamel says your cool, that's good enough for me.
I also would love if you could react to Stevie Wonder and George Michael doing this song live on VH1. It is special to say the least.
You!
U playing the greats , nothin but a classic that can be played today!!! Song’s gotta be fifty years old , genius💙💙zane
Thank you for realizing, very wise & perceptive of you to know what previous generations have been through, which we should gain encouragement & strength from, not still cursing the world & the darkness. Let’s bring the light! I recall hearing in early 1980’s, that a Berry Gordy, head of Motown, was so frustrated with Stevie because he easily had about 500 songs ‘in the can’ back THEN! Look how much incredible music he has produced, it’s mind boggling! Glad you got to this masterpiece, & great reaction!
My favorite artist! 🔥
The accents are greatness, love it 😍
I never knew there was an f-bomb on this one that was interesting to see and I've heard this song over and over again I've heard shitty and I heard the n bomb when he tells him to get in the cell during the city. But I never realized Stevie dropped a big f-bomb on this.
I just love Stevie Wonder .... it is so great to see your reaction! I still have my vinyl copy of the "songs in the Key of Life LP" which is just amazing. He writes really gritty, hard hitting songs, but also some wonderful upbeat ones - my personal favourite is "A Place in the Sun" ....
Listen to his , ten zillion light years.
Stevie wonder rocks funk style thanks for the reactiob
This is a bold racial protest song from a day when things were so much worse...It's good to see that young guys like you get to face the way things once were and can understand that great progress actually has been made. Is there more change still necessary? Of course...
❤️❤️❤️
Nice selection Zach and Sam.
Nice work on this one guys. Always love the wisdom when breaking down lyrics and their personal meaning for you
You guys should do a reaction to the song SUPERSTITION.
“Isn’t She Pretty” Stevie Wonder. For his daughter. Heavenly
"lovely"
A MASTERFULLY WRITTEN SONG
I Love The Channel Guys Yall Are Amazing and I Love Stevie Wonder An Icon
❤️
Google Stevie Wonder discography to see all the great albums he's made .Great artist.
Guys if only you would listen to the song for a while before analyzing it!
It's not too much different now it's still going on now in america
“I hope you hear inside my voice of sorrow
And that it motivates you to make a better tomorrow
This place is cruel no where could be much colder
If we don't change the world will soon be over”. Stevie Wonder
bruvs, he's been out since the 1960s...
Just review the "Songs in the Key of Life" double Album...
In other words, they're surviving enough to be included in the census for the city.
Love the channel my brothers. You should definitely check out "Skeletons" by Stevie Wonder....
Superstition is another great song.
Who are you guys?? Where are you from? I'm guessing... Ireland?? Wow.
