  • The most awaited video of all, the one that tells the fortieth edition of Marciagranparadiso in its entirety, with a selection of highlights. A real journey of just three minutes that shows the entire ecosystem of the March. An event that ignites an entire community, that of the town of Cogne, in Valle d'Aosta. In 1975 ten visionaries gave life to what still today, more than ever, represents the symbolic event in the winter of the Aosta Valley Alpine Pearl. A cross-country ski race that also becomes a great experience: for those who experience it against the clock, the technical route with demanding altitudes is the ultimate challenge, while for those who don't watch the clock, it is the chance to enjoy a day on narrow skis, in the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park.
The two days of cross-country skis in Cogne ended with great success with the public and participants. The atmosphere of the past has been rediscovered, with thematic refreshments, an ideal weather and a clear desire to have fun!
    REPORTAGE:
At 10 o'clock the 40th edition of the Marciagranparadiso started. 449 participants from 12 different nations lined up on the starting line at the bottom of the Prati di Sant'Orso. The start, very fast, immediately made the group longer and longer, especially the head. After a few kilometers, the French Nathan Jouannon immediately attacked and led the peloton for about three-quarters of the race, reaching a maximum advantage over his pursuers of about 30 seconds.
After about half the race the Italians Stefano Mich and Christian Lorenzi increase the pace and begin the long process of chasing the head of the race, which is almost completed at the entrance to the Cogne cross-country stadium. On the last straight they take the lead and fight for victory, which goes to Lorenzi from Cuneo (Team Internorm Alpenplus Trentino), for the second consecutive time, after an effort of an hour and 50 minutes. At 3" Mich (Team Futura) and at 17" the French Jouannon (Féclaz Formation Longue Distance). As for the women's race Emilie Jeantet (Army Sports Centre) soloed for all 40 kilometers of the Marathon course and also imposes herself for the second consecutive time, in two hours and 9 minutes, over Chiara Caminada (Team Robinson Trentino) (just over 2 minutes behind) and Beatrice Bastrentaz (Sci Club Mont Nery ASD) (at 2':34”).
In the men's light course, the French Robin Berjoan (Féclaz Formation Longue Distance) wins in one hour and twenty minutes, second Luc Primet, also transalpine, and third Tommaso Cuc, from the local ski club (Gran Paradiso). The women's 25 kilometers were conquered by the French Capucine Richon (Féclaz Formation Longue Distance), ahead of Virginia Cena (Gruppo Sportivo Vigili del Fuoco Godioz) and Anais Segor Maluquin.
    Some facts to report.
    1) At the start, the oldest female competitor was a 67-year-old Swede, while an 80-year-old Italian athlete competed among the men!
    2) Among the competitors who reached the finish line, there was a very special one: he answers to the name of Bruno Zanivan and he is the last "senator" of the Marcia. The photos of the finale are epic because they portray him with his personalized bib which reminds him that he ran and finished 40 editions of the Marcia: all of them!
    3) The participant from the furthest country was a Mexican: Miguel Angel Ortega Cervantes.
    4) Toft Bjørn's sixteenth place in the marathon distance of 40 km was a performance that will go down in the history of the Danish cross-country.
