I got a tip from Obscure Machines (can be found on RUclips) about the DB-01. Try the random pattern feature. It does come up with some great stuff that I might never consider otherwise. You can set the parameters, such as scale length, key, major/minor and other conditions. Then just hit the random button and you can't go wrong. Great for coming up with stuff on the fly that all sounds good together. MPC kick drum is very good.
