I don't like races because they don't respect the horses'growth at all, and because horses are overexploited. As I don't like equestrian centers who put a begineer on a young horse and/or use horses way too much during 20 years... Or a CSO center which put horses in boxes all the day. Personnally I don't think that classic ride is better than races but i think that it's more possible to respect horses'needs in classic centers than in the world of races. :)

That's not a sign of pleasure. :) A horse who feels good is a calm horse with the neck in the prolongment of his back, ears at 180°, all mussles decontracted. = all needs satisfied. They can feel good during exercice if they can be decontracted. Sometimes it happens, especially if the rider take care of it ^^

Considering how many spills happen in steeplechase, it's a marvel that there aren't more injuries. Credit the riders, who know how to fall and roll/fall and crouch to protect themselves. As well, the loose horses, though they enjoy following along with their friends, usually stay to the outside, out of the way - unlike this one, which stayed right in the thick and caused a risk to the others. I laugh at the way most loose horses in jump races keep up, but cheat by skipping the fences, making it easier on themselves.

The horses without riders only ran because they are a flight animal and will keep running with the herd ,that’s just their natural instinct , like if a couple horses in a herd in the wild started running the rest would follow . It’s not that they love galloping it is just that it’s their instinct to follow the group and to run from “danger”.

The horses that come are scared because there owners buy young thouroghbreds hire someone to train them through fear and abuse and then the horses are etheir raced too young so their bones snap as their not fully developed and the ones that don't eventually get too old to win so when the money stops the owner carts them off to slaughter and if they're lucky they end up in a good rescue like ares or if not they're turned into dog meat and sent to Europe, and thats the reality of it hun Horses naturally want to please their rider as they're not an agressive animal and when it comes to confronting danger they'll run from it and not fight it. Using a crop continuously at high speeds completely damages the horse's hooves so they end up with conditions like thrush in their hooves due to neglect after abandoned. And its been scientifically proven that continuously using crops makes the horse go slower and its using power before technique. I used to support it until helping out at the resque and i realised the truth is their used as objects used to gamble on and around 90,000 die annually tell me thats ok I dare you, horses weren't even made to be ridden so riding them like this is terrible for their health and don't even get me started on how much they pull on the reigns it rips their mouths overtime and one horse came to us with infected cuts bleeding and spewing out puss on the side of its mouth due to neglection from the owner who bo longer needed the horse and wanted to pay for its vet fees. It's disgusting and if you think it's a good sport after reading this then you're a bad person and I'm not going to waste my time with sociopaths who get pleasure out of abusing animals its disgusting and that makes me feel physically sick...

don't stopracing I worked for mouse morris many years ago and you should know how difficult it is to control a horse at that speed and keep is straight over a fence, I must say you surprise me saying you have never seen a race like that, what about the race at Newcastle where the leading horse actually dug his heels in and refused to go on until another came alongside passed him and he still refused to move. can't remember which year it was, then last year how about Might Bite at the rsa at Cheltenham, when he decided he had had enough and wanted to go home.

Ive been involved with race horses for 40 years. I thought I'd seen it all. NOPE! wish we coulda seen the last horse to join the rider unseating party. Lol

don't stopracing. Have you ever tried riding a horse at around 30 plus m.p.h and steering it into a fence, believe me there is nothing you can do to keep it straight. I do wish people like you who make these comments should first of all go out and practice what you preach,.
Barbara Dyson well actually I do practice what I preach as I am an ex jockey and have worked in a yard. And all I said was what were the horses doing I have never seen a race like that. Does that pass your laws?
don't stopracing I worked for mouse morris many years ago and you should know how difficult it is to control a horse at that speed and keep is straight over a fence, I must say you surprise me saying you have never seen a race like that, what about the race at Newcastle where the leading horse actually dug his heels in and refused to go on until another came alongside passed him and he still refused to move. can't remember which year it was, then last year how about Might Bite at the rsa at Cheltenham, when he decided he had had enough and wanted to go home.
