- This is my biggest anime figure collection haul yet, but it isn't as expensive as it looks, thanks to how frequently decent anime figures bargain bin nowadays, even if they came from popular games like Azur Lane, Arknights or Girl's Frontline. Meanwhile, this ABsinthe studio Jingliu figure from Honkai:Star Rail might be my favorite resin figure yet.

Yea I get a 25% customs charge on every figure here in Ireland, and they charge that customs charge on the total cost, including shipping. So when I buy a Prime1 resin statue with a massive shipping price the customs ends up being enough to buy multiple scale figures. It’s just outright robbery, it’s just a way to steal money from you.

lol not as many as you think, because an average 20 to 30% of everything I buy will eventually be sold, otherwise i would be out of space

Haven't watched the video yet but i learned something new. Apparently, if you have a premiering at X:XX video loaded up, it'll freaking auto play at the premier time. I put this up as my main tab, turned my monitors off, and have been away from my pc for 20 hours, came back to a livestream playing since it had autoplayed through like 30 videos after this streamed...... Good times.
Yes, premieres will autoplay if you left the tab open. I choose some videos to be featured in a premiere as a way of sending notification to my subscribers that i have a major figure haul or review video to share with everyone. I don't label every upload as a premiere because i would just end up sending too many notifications and annoying people.

holy shit RM1k for all these is INSANE!!! Local viewer here. I'm not a huge scale figure person to begin with but I have a few old releases I like that I wont mind snatching at those kinda prices from Taobao
Have fun with Jean Bart's figure. I got this one and I like the figure, yes. Sure. However attaching the mini glasses to the figure and then moving to the shelf was a headache and a challenge as they kept droppig , lol. Even by just moving her 1cm, at least 1 glass will drop x) Kinda frustrating.
That was exactly my experience when i was filming a photography related video for a separate channel over the past weekend. It really got on my nerves lol
I owned a ABsinthe studio Cyberpunk Edgerunner Rebecca figure. It's my one and only resin GK and I was quite surprised how good it is. Sadly my unit has a small QC issue. One of the two rebecca's head has a small chipped paint on the nose. It's unnoticable from afar. Oh well, nothing you can do with GK.
So far I haven't order another GK because of a terrible experience with another Malaysian GK seller. They basically fucked up my preorder of two GKs. One year after balance payment (you're supposed to pay the remaining balance after the studios have completed the GK production), they still couldn't find my items and kept on trying to persuade me to change to different GKs instead of refunding. Got so fed up that I had to force them to pay me back my money.
As a Malaysian, I don't even know where to look for local shops that take orders for them. The reason why i don't trust local stores with these 3rd parties is because there is no guarantee they will get their hands on the stocks. The production quantity is way more limited than genuine figures

Be careful when you want to attach the suoimi to the base, it will be quite difficult because the design is quite bad. I scratched her base 3 times trying to attach the 4 fixed bars to the base, her skirt and base are also too big which will make it very difficult to attach the suoimi to the base. In addition, we also have a tommny gun that has no effect at all.This may be the reason why this figure has lost so much value
Shipping is getting pretty wild in us.
I used to sell my preowned figures to some American collectors on MFC. That was back in mid 2010s, about 8 to 10 years ago. Nowadays shipping cost to the USA is just so absurd that it is virtually impossible. More than often shipping costs end up being higher than the figure itself.
The customs charge that I get here is more annoying than the shipping cost, because at least the shipping cost has a purpose, I get the figure shipped to me. The 25% customs charge is just robbery.
Still waiting on this Jingliu from Favorgk! They took my payment weeks ago and told me it was ready to ship and they still haven’t shipped it :(

Thanks for the showcase! What are some trustworthy Taobao sellers that you'd recommend? I bought the same set of scale figures from another seller, but unfortunately my Amiya arrived with broken ears.
As for why many of these official scale figures are cheap on Taobao right now, these figures were part of the gacha pool from Bilibili's figure prize gacha （魔力赏), and multiple sellers seem to be flipping them.
Rather than always going back to the same few trustworthy sellers, i tend to look out for the correct keywords. The 3 genuine figures i got for a bargain came from a seller I'm buying from for the first time. Taobao sellers don't really lie because if they do, they will be in trouble. If they sell genuine or bootleg they will mention it in the title or item description. It is up to us the consumers to read before buying. If you see the words 国产, 初国版, or 优质版, that is bootleg. If you see 正版, 日版, 正品, it is genuine. The main key is to know the keywords to look out for.
@@EXkurogane That's fair, though I'm still curious about your experiences! I do read/write Chinese, but it's not my first language. The issue I've seen is -- Taobao resellers with bargain bin deals are sometimes scalpers rather than authorized dealers like Hpoi, MaosouHouse, or Bilibili, and it can be hard to distinguish the two. Some stores seem to exclusively scalp from 咸鱼 (by way of bilibili 魔力赏), and thus, they provide lower quality 售后 services compared to an authorized dealer. For example, I bought my broken Amiya figure for 255 RMB, but the seller was only willing to refund 65 RMB... while Bilibili or AmiAmi probably would've replaced the figure if I covered shipping.

24:39 Yea that’s a very disappointing base on a ¥25k figure, I’ve very surprised to get this level of quality from eStream. But some companies are much better with bases than others. I know you’re not a big fan of Kotobukiya, but they always try to do something with their bases, rarely do they have a plain base, I’m a huge fan of Kotobukiya.

Somewhere around 32cm+ including the bsse. It's a bit taller than your typical 1/6 scale

I forgot to mention her price in the video partly because it was 2 separate payments, preorder deposit back then and the remainder after it came out, so the remainder payment screenshot isn't accurate.

I know you mention Taobao a lot, but I think you said in a video that a large percentage of your audience is from the US and I don't think many of us can read Chinese here, so how are we supposed to go get these bargain bin figures....? Lol.
I did have a video on tutorial how to buy from Taobao (but the difficulty is probably still high for most people). Of course, Amiami sale section is a gold mine itself (I just dumped 7 items into my cart over the weekend) but i don't think i will move on with the purchase. Maybe two, maximum three. I need to be selective. The only issue for my country specifically, is the tax mechanism and pricier shipping for Japan.
For Americans I think shipping cost from China or Japan wouldn't differ too much? (You wont benefit from much cheaper shipping like I do). Because shipping costs are determined by shipment volume first, distance second. A perfect example would be, shipping a figure from my country to the USA costs twice as much as shipping the same figure from Japan to USA, even though geographically Japan is further. Because international parcels outbound from Malaysia are very low in volume. It is virtually impossible for anyone in my country to sell our preowned figures to overseas buyers (such as in MFC) for this reason.
