    Thanking you my dear. I am appreciated you for this. My child must take benefit from this technique. He is 14 years old and learning Judo now a days.

    Really like the idea of pushing the hip forward and leaning the body backward. I think it makes it much easier to finish the full turn. I used to fail the throw at 90 degrees to the opponent after dropping. Would love to see more seoi nage videos!

    Several of my Sensei’s @ Skelley were recommending that I work on dropping (just before the apocalypse)... so I can’t wait to try this... it’ll save my rusty knees! 🤙🏻

    As a BJJ beginner, my first thought is to completely avoid a grip battle with a judoka. 😏 This is good stuff! Thank you Travis!

    Good stuff. I generally dislike dropping techniques as I feel it can be misused as a crutch. However it's good to know and useful to understand how to defend it.

      I agree. These should be used as a secondary attack to your stand up judo. Should never be a first choice.

    By any chance would you know the name of this tecnique in Japanese or if it's on the kodokan tecniques list? Means "Ippon Seoi Nague" its but the drop on the knees its in English can't be the correctly name. Thank you very much

    Travis do you prefer the drop Seoi nage or the normal seoi nage?

    Could one keep one leg extended as I have a bad knee now, and simply cannot drop to that knee (left) but I can drop my right knee and keep my left extended. What do you think Master Stevens?

    Thank you for another awesome tutorial, sir. I was attempting this technique with the pull and lean back, but I was getting stiff armed by his left arm. And it was not allowing me to get under and between his legs. Is there a piece of detail I’m missing?

    Do you advocate to use this technique from turtle in BJJ, or is that being too wishful?

    • @TravisStevensgrappling
      @TravisStevensgrappling  4 года назад +1

      Wishful thinking. You may get it every once in awhile but not worth dedicating and real training time to.

    For self defense purposes can you modify grip to drop an attacker on their face instead of rolling them?
