      I really like the earthworks 4 home soil test it's conveniently packaged with quick turnaround times.. and I know that it's being tested by professional lab..

    Super Helpful! This is the video that NEEDED to be made on soil tests. Not just selling the test, also instructing people how to pull propper dirt for their test. Great job!

      I see so many videos where people are being told to strip everything from the soil before sending it in to be tested.. you end up with a road map to nowhere! Thank you for watching

    I’d be curious to see the analysis difference between this soil test kit vs the typical soil test kit.

      As long as you use a lab with the Mehlich testing, you should be fine Logan's, spectrum, waypoint.. You definitely do not want a MY soil test or Anderson which is private labeled my soil. Stay away from resin test also!

    Spectrum wants cores at 3” for established turf

    • @FescueFreak
      @FescueFreak  8 месяцев назад

      I stopped using spectrum years ago when I learned about Logan labs.. I feel like the test is a whole lot easier to read..
      I don’t see where a 3 inch test would be ideal because your roots are far deeper than 3 inches ..

      Just went to their website and for Lawn/Turf they’re asking for a 4 inch sample.. ? Tried calling, but no one answered the phone.

    I’ve always been told to take the top 2” off the core and discard…like you said, that is where all the nutrients lay and will throw off the test of the bottom 4” where you are trying to treat. Thoughts?

      @FescueFreak  8 месяцев назад +1

      The top 2 inches is definitely where all the riches are until they move down into the soil.. so if you remove that, I feel like you might would rob yourself of what you've already done and would over apply by testing the lower portion of the soil..
      I'm not a professional, but that's my opinion.. it's always best to call the lab for questions also.

    So do you send in 4 different soil samples, one for each of your 'zones'?

    • @FescueFreak
      @FescueFreak  8 месяцев назад

      Yes sir! Each one of those zones gets its own test for that particular area

      @@FescueFreak yes , I finished my front yard and started on my backyard , so can I over seed my front yard again before summer and thanks again

    • @FescueFreak
      @FescueFreak  8 месяцев назад

      @@chubo26 normally you would over seed in the fall.. the reason for over seeding is if you lost some turf to disease, drought or pest.. if your lawn is super thick and healthy then there's no reason to over seed unless you want to introduce new cultivars.
