REVIEW: Lepus Mk2
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 14 апр 2022
- All the way back in 2019, a foam-flinger in the UK known as JackRabbitNerfer designed an ultra-minimalist mag-in-grip flywheeler. It made its rounds with others in the hobby, but we were just too busy to check it out.
This is our (quite belated) review of the second iteration of the Lepus: the Mk2 XT-T variant (which stands for "exposed trigger - Talon magwell"). This thing is pretty barebones, and that's not necessarily a detractor. While its compactness comes at a cost of some usability and comfort, this blaster really shines as a secondary "room clearer" like the D-Dart Tempest
You can find JackRabbitNerfer and the Lepus on Etsy, though he's currently not processing any orders:

Files for the Lepus and a list of hardware needed can be found on Thingiverse (though it's rumored the Thingiverse site may not be up for much longer):

You are getting the jams/ miss fires because the cycle control switch is missing, so when you insert the mag its jamming the pusher.
It was designed very much as a quick spray secondary when you're entering a building or rounding a corner, paired with with high power springers or HPA, on my thingverse there is the poplock magnetic holster designed to be used with it
Thanks for letting us know! Still, we'll try not to overload our darts next time. We even accidentally loaded a mag backwards before filming, lol.
We've got a lot planned this coming month so we thought we'd get something small out of the way. Let us know if there are any other community blasters we should review in the comments below!
Bolololol.... Know Jack Rabbit personally and have his first Lepus he ever sold 😉. It's lush and the Bololol of the pusher is our (FAUK - Foam Alliance UK) war cry 😊..... He also has a delicated holster you can print out for it too. Needs a couple magnets
I really like this blaster! It looks like great value to make, with simple hardware and pretty good performance. I wish it had a printed leaf-spring detent instead of using the magazine lips so it could use tachis though, but it wouldn’t be hard to add a thin trigger-guard to prevent mis-pressing it. Thanks for the great review! 💜💙
I know others have reviewed it before, but a more modern gryphon review would be cool!
I built one it was fun but hard to holster and the switches eventually failed. Ultimately I didn't repair it. Great first 3d build could use a trigger guard and because it was hard to holster it was a primary or nothing. Didn't have the reach for higher fps wars great for cqb stuff.
I be interested in a mayfly review or build.
Would love to see a video on the mayfly!
I have one, they're really, really nice. And at the moment, not too many people have done videos on them. I think my video on it might be the only actual review on yt thusfar. Definitely needs more exposure, excellent little design.
If there were more about it I think that there would be more out there
If you made a part that made it compatible with the tachi, instant buy
The Lepus was the first blaster I printed and I absolutely love it. In fact, the black/yellow one on FF Lepus hardware kit page is mine.
it was my first build! I love it. I call it my panic button.
Its a nice touch using a song called "Jack Rabbit" for the blaster by JackRabbit. Clever girl...
I was wondering if someone would catch that! - Perry
I love mine. I bought a talon one from Frontline Foam. Took me a few tries to the the wiring right. Just bought new motors and wheels from you so I can print a katana fed one.
Have you reviewed the Woozi yet? After seeing Coops review I just can't get enough of this crazy thing
Don't mind the delay in seeing the review, Luke. Your take is always appreciated. Sans reading other cmts or searching your past vids, havya reviewed the Firerat? That's an enticing blaster.
Yes we have!
@@outofdarts Fantastic! I shall have a looksee. Thank you, good sir.
It's a neat blaster design, though I'm not sure how I feel about those triggers.
I would love to see Radioactive Designs, Hammershot cylinders get some love, They are really cool with inline Clip cylinders all the way to a 32dart capacity Hammershot cylinder. They also have Hammershot cylinders for every other ammo type. give them some love and air time
We need a video on the Shellington blasters!
I like to think of out of darts as Linus tech tips
I wonder how it could work as a foregrip blaster. It shouldn't be to hard to modify the files to make it rail attached.
Already added on the some blasters like the axiom. Works really well as a room clearing blaster on something like a HPA blaster.
The top is flat so it should be super simple to design a reverse-rail on top of it
It's nice to see someone look at this since the pew pew has come out. I wish there was some trigger covers for it.
Would love to see this evolved to take an angled talon.
HvZ like endwar type blasters, would be cool for me to see, as I would love to go someday.
We need similar 3-D adjustable rate of fire option for 2.5" RIVAL Grenades 😁
I think it would be cool to make an automatic high powered springer like an auto longshot. It would be a slower automatic. Probably take a wench mechanism to work the action
Many years ago, Hasbro came out with something like that called the Stampede. More recently, I've seen news about the QWK Challenger Mk3, which is designed for short darts. Both fill an interesting niche that we don't have much of in foam flinging.
Lightning Bug by Impact498!
Right behind Phil. Btw, that flex tape has some faults. Doesn’t work underwater for me
I burned my switches out four times. Make a quick edit to the STL for a picotinny rail mount on the top of the blaster and it's pretty great, if you can keep the darn thing working...
Lets goooo
I bought the hardware kit for the 1.0 Lepus like a year ago, but I haven't gotten around to finally building the thing. Will the old parts fit in the new shell?
yes, the changes were mainly around talon and katana capability
Hello Out of Darts, I am trying to get into modifying blasters but do not want them shooting at insane speeds, so what half length blasters would you recommend?
I know you had problems with the M79 review unit you had, will we ever get it to see you review of a newer unit or even the one you initially received?
They sent us a new lower receiver, and it's on our shelf of blasters to test and review. We do have a backlog of blasters on the shelf, so I can't promise we will come out with a review soon, but it's certainly on our list.
The lack of trigger guard is giving me 1880s real steel gun design vibes.
Waffle is above the Boomdozer
I'm afraid I forgot to move it the last time we filmed. It might be above the boomdozer for a couple more videos, lol. - Perry
@@outofdarts 🤣
I'd love to have one, but there's no good place to get a hardware kit
Review the v6 Manatee!
Review the nerf woozi
Do one myself with mosfet board
the originals used mosfet boards, hence why was comfortable using tiny switches
Lol i built mine yesterday

I want one of these then I want to fill it with metal darts and coat them with kryptonite.
