The main problem i’ve had with the grid method is it still being visible in the lightest areas of my portraits lol it then becomes a camouflaging mission

Faber Castell dust free eraser! gets rid of it right away as long as you pressed light enough. that’s why I really emphasize that part

I don’t know if you’re looking for suggestions for videos but a tutorial detailing how to transition from very dark values to light values in a small distance is a subject that i’ve not seen many channels cover. An example of what i mean would be a shadow caused by the fringe of long hair over the edge of the forehead transitioning to light values where light is hitting the forehead just outside of the shadow, i hope that makes sense lol keep up the great work

Why wouldn't you cut the paper to size first, then draw the grid?
Makes way more sense.

so you can tape it to the table.. and cut it when the drawing is done.
if you don't tape it to a table,
sliding the paper around while "cut to size" will only mess up the edges,
you'll have more options with framing the piece when finished if you have extra space outside the drawing.
many many reasons as to why it's important
