My driveway is only a fraction of the length of this driveway and I received a quote for 13k and another for $6,700. If this cost anywhere near that per square foot, it definitely cost $20k+. I just can't believe how expensive driveways are.

I'm really asking because I really don't know, so I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything. If my ground where I want asphalt to be is mostly grass and dirt and the company offers to pour right on top of that with no type or preparation, dirt, gravel or anything, should I run? or is it normal to install right on top of the ground??

I would run, I work in asphalt and we usually regrade those areas, clean the grass up, also spray weed killer just in case. You don’t want grass coming thru your driveway
