    Very interesting to see the differences with the US version. I made a video about the Canadian Niro EV app, UVO Intelligence. I like some of the features your version has that we don't get, like valet mode and the nanny alerts for when you lend your car.

    Great Channel and lots of nice to know info ☺️
    Question: Is it possible to have the rear lights always turned on as default?

    It's good to see a channel that deals with the Kia eNiro. I have an interest in this vehicle but couldn't find any channel that deals solely on this EV. I'm subscribing to this channel. Great video.

      @@niroevj3477 Thank you for responding. What is your real world range during the Winter and Summer if you've owned the EV for a little while? Can the car be preheated or cooled by the App you demonstrated in a previous video? Would love to know. Much appreciated.

      David Campbell I don’t have experience with range in the winter yet but cold weather will be here soon so I will let you know. Summer range has been amazing. I can get about 300 miles on a full charge. I just did a 220 mile all highway run at speeds between 70-80 mph and had 30 miles of range left. It is crazy. That was all highway. If those were city miles I would have been over 300 miles. I don’t expect the winter miles to be as good but I do have the winter package with the battery heater and heat pump so that will help.
      You can pre heat and cool the cabin through the app. You set the temperature and then turn on climate. I will be doing that in the winter. Thanks for the questions!

    The Kia Access App feels very unresponsive. We've had our standard EX for 4 days and Kia has a long way to go as far as software is concerned. I will admit there are more options in their app than Tesla's. Please keep up the good work for standard EX!

    Hi - don't know if you are still monitoring this video. I have app version 4.2.0 with a new Kia Seltos. On the Locations tab of the app you can find destinations and there is a button "send to car". Sometimes that seems to work and when I get in the car there's a download notification and thereafter you find what you downloaded in navigation/previous destinations / search. However it doesn't seem to be reliably sending those to the car. It always works if I'm in the car, car turned on with the app turned on, but I wanted to be able to add locations that other times while in the house etc. Wondered if you had any luck with this? I will ask Kia as well but they don't seem to know much about these kind of details. Thanks, Doug

    I'm looking a used 2019 Niro ev. How can I be sure that the previous owner isn't still connected to the car and can track my location or mess with my car's settings?

    More great info here! I hear you on not using the app a lot, I have a Volt right now and don’t pop into the Chevy app all that often. This one actually has more functionality, could see using this a bit more maybe. Question unrelated to the app, one thing that I wish were a bit better on the Niro is the center screen display quality, it looks a bit dated for a 2019 model year. How does it look in Apple CarPlay in terms of the resolution, colors, etc.? That could be an interesting video to shoot, Apple CarPlay on the Niro EV, how it looks, etc. Good point on PlugShare not yet being included when they aren’t a competitor like Google, and Waze is also owned by Google btw. Maybe also in that same video you could show the rear back up camera and how that resolution/screen looks, guidelines that turn, etc. Basically highlight the center display, menu options (roll through those), CarPlay since you have iPhone, etc.

    Can you post what happens with the break lights when you use all regenerative break functions. Video if possible. Thanks

    • @niroevj3477
      @niroevj3477  5 лет назад

      Sure, I will try to make a video but I can tell you anything regen 2 or 3 puts on the brake lights. The problem is the brake lights turn off when you get below 5mph. Even if you hold the left paddle to come to a complete stop, once you stop even though the car will not creep forward the brake lights will go out. I use the auto hold feature and tap the brakes once I am stopped and it will then keep the brake lights illuminated and then I can take my foot off the brake.

    Great video as I was curious whether there was an actual app or not. I like that you can activate heating or cooling ahead of time. Two things: 1) I was unaware that the Niro has cellular connection (similar to Telsa). Does Kia make over-the-air software updates like Tesla?; and 2) Why does it mention cooling system in the maintenance section? Obviously, there is no coolant to the engine. What does that actually refer to?

    • @niroevj3477
      @niroevj3477  5 лет назад +1

      The cellular connection is not for over the air updates unfortunately. It is just there to communicate with the app and to allow you to use the features of Uvo. News, weather, traffic etc. It is also there to provide a data connection should you have the navigation system for things like points of interest.
      There is coolant but it is not for the motor. It is for the battery. You will notice when fast charging the car will run the coolant to the battery to keep it at the proper temperature. I have not had it cool the battery from normal use or when it is hot out. Just when fast charging.

      How you acquire it? You acquire it like you do any other app on your phone or tablet. On iOS you go to the app store and on Android you use the play store. It is a free download

    You’ve had the car for over 6 months now, how has it met/or not met your expectations. As the weather gets cooler,as it does where I live in Canada, have you noticed a range change,or a consumption increase as it cools off. Keep us informed as lots of us are still sitting on the fence as to itsuitability. Thanks

    • @niroevj3477
      @niroevj3477  4 года назад

      Thanks for the comment! After having the car for as long as I have I can honestly say I will never buy another gas car. The range has been solid since I have had it. If I am around town running errands I easily get around 300 miles or 482 kilometers. On the highway I get about 260 miles or 418 kilometers.
      Now that it has gotten cooler I have not noticed any reduction in range however it is not as cold as it is in Canada yet. The lowest we have gotten down to is about 48 degrees f or 8 c. It is kept in a garage so I do not expect to see a reduction in range until it gets much colder in the next few months.
      I plan on using winter mode when it gets colder to ease any range loss. I plan on making an update video in the winter as to my experience with range in the winter.
      Thanks again!
