Perfection. As time goes on certain generations don't realize how good Aretha really was. She changed the way people sang. She rightfully earned the title Queen.
She's just sitting there like she's waiting for a cup of coffee. Then, she opens her mouth...and sings with all of that power, depth, soul and range. Aretha Franklin's voice was rich. That's why she was a living legend and will forever be an icon.
This is my favorite song of hers!! She wrote it and played piano on it. One of the session musicians said after they recorded it everyone including Aretha was crying!!! It’s a very interesting story as well of what inspired her to write it!
This is my FAVE song by her! CRAZY to think that 3 of the greatest voices of ALL time Aretha, Whitney & Dionne - ALL smoked cigarettes and THAT'S the main thing that changed their tone/range over time (lung capacity). 🤯 -- I didn't even know I liked Aretha until I took a deep dive into her earlier stuff and I was like "Mann, her voice was CRAAAAZY..." same with Dionne.
This song does something to my soul. Being married to a Black man in this social climate we are in I’d be lying if I said I don’t think about all the “what ifs” every time he walks out that door to go to work. I literally tell him, call me the second you get there baby🥺
My favorite Aretha song. Mad I didn't learn about this song until after her death but glad I did. Patti sung it at a Grammy tribute after her death as well.
Her live performance of this in 1971 at the Montreux was poppin as well!!! It shows her showmanship and personality very much so. I’m still waiting on that 1993 “I never loved a man” performance reaction 🔥🔥🔥
For sure one I was hoping for, thank you to whoever requested. Always here for the Queen of Soul reactions! ❤ She always goes deep and she always has spectacular, interesting and different vocals. She was one of the great embodiments of musicality. Complete assuredness.
Sir, thank you for reacting to this Master Class Performance by Miss Franklin! Your words express the recognition that must be given to her! Perfect! Absolute Perfection! Epic! Super Bad! Effortless! Killing It! And Looking Cute! = (equals) The Queen of Soul!!!! Aretha Louise Franklin!!!!
THANK U FOR REACTING TO THIS! This is definitely one of Aretha's BEST night's vocally. It's where she performed this, I Say A Little Prayer, and a medley with Tom Jones. I WISH THERE WAS BETTER QUALITY OF THIS PERFORMANCE LIKE THE OTHER ONES. Sorry to freak out I love Aretha
Another analysis that woudl be nice is for him to compare PHIL PERRY'S version of this same song... Did a fantastic job, which is saying a lot not only to resing an Aretha Franklin song, but to have it done by man...
My brother beat me to it 2 months Earlier asking you to review Karen Clark Sheared, Balm in Gilliad. She's one of Aretha's top favorite vocalist. Another excellent gospel review would be LaShun Pace I know I've been changed. There's several options available of the song but I have attached the one I'm referring to. You may have already heard these ladies not sure. But they are certainly great vocalist. LaShun Pace - I Know I've Been Changed / malacomg ruclips.net/video/UzMKZcoFTrM/видео.html
Her breathing techniques are unmatched. She has stamina. Endurance. Balance. A very polished finish. One of a Kind. For Me, She’s the Greatest. 🐐

She was AHEAD of her time.
THIS IS WHY SHE IS LEGENDARY.

She ate this. Her upper belts give me chills.
This is one of my favorite live performances of Aretha. She just decided to sit there and sing the sh*%t out that song.

Indeed, it was more than singing, Aretha proclaimed a story, an emotion, an experience.

Legendary performance.
I was in High school when this, was out a senior. She was bad singing her ... off with out trying. My Queen RIH
You need to do I Say A Little Prayer from this same show. A lot of people consider that her best performance ever
Missy A , He did a reaction to that some time ago.
@@christhomas5761 Natalie Cole and Whitney's live version but never Aretha's or Dionne's versions.

You should react to Balm in Gilead by Karen Clark Sheard
Yes some of the best singers are in the gospel realm. Karen is definitely one of them at the top. Also Lashun Pace.
My favorite performance of this song!! Can you react to some more Kim Burrell/ Clark Sisters
