This is true, lost a friend who wanted to use my spare room at my apt. At first I was ok with it but at the time I was trying to start a business and since I wasn't flush with cash, I decided to use any space I could to store the products I was trying to sell. He was supposed to moved in 2 months after I promised him he could. But within that two months, the business started to grow and that spare room was no longer a spare room, I needed it. I told him the situation and that I would help him search for a new apt and send him leads. He got pissed and said I wasn't a real friend. This was a little after the start of the pandemic. Fast forward 3 years, I'm now looking to buy my first house and this dude is still bumming our old circle of friends for a couch to crash on... So I approve of this message.
I've been in your situation..a few times. What the negativr remarks fail to see is 3 years, 3 years. Idk him but in my situation, after 6 months, no job, occasionaly getting one but fired quickly for being late or drugs (meth🙄). You have to stand up to ones like this or they'll keep escalating to the point they begin to steel. And being a "friend" it can be difficult to do because you DO care. Side note on the common issue of a friend who wants you to help them move; met a fella who was helping a neighbor move, he hurt his back moving his sofa, badly, never recovered, has back pain and issues years later, to this day... The neighbor has refused to help. If he had originally just Helped the neighbor to hire a moving company, or handman, a lot more sense for everyone involved, he wouldn't suffer back issues to this day.

I used to just agree when girls asked to be friends after we were together, but I had one recently where I stood up for myself and said I couldn't see or talk to her unless we were going to be together as we were. The end advice would be to always put yourself in to a position where you feel challenged. Weak men would say it's discomfort, but challenging is the real meaning. In the past years I started my own business, I cut ties with all the weak men from my past life and instead try to surround me with successful men who are or aim to be achievers like me; I stopped viewing women as some sort of prize and am only focusing on my own growth and success. Oh man...my father never accepted I was an entreprenpreur and asked me to drive him to the airport on a Wednesday even though I would have to drive from my city (where the airport was) to his city an hour away, drop him off, and then an hour back to my home. Half a day and exhausting. So I say, yes, out of guilt. He adds me meeting some lunatic handyman he hired to change cars and then drive him back to the original city. Entire day. Initially I told him I would give him $100 to hire a cab for door to door service. Lesson learned. He didn't value my time at all. I was making 1,000 to $2,500 a day the first time in my life and had $100K in debt from a previous business to pay down.

I disagree about the pot head comment, that's actually pretty offensive. I smoke every day and I actually grow my own. I breed new strains and already have my brand. I make my own logos and my own websites all while also working full time as a manager at my job until my business grows. The cannabis industry is huge and there is lots of money to be made and there are plenty of successful "pot heads". When used properly, cannabis is a huge tool that can help improve most people's lives and it isn't just about "getting high".

Weed was approved by the government cause they know it will make most people lazy idiots who will do anything the government tells them as long as they can get their legal high. Weed doesn’t make you smarter or make you stronger. It’s a drug like any other drug as an escape.

How can you be so blind to not see the direct relationship between somebody 'making money' (as opposed to solve problems) and the problems that are by-product of sombody's profit?
