- Investigating & fixing a Audi A6 2007 Model 3.0 V6 with the fuel gauge not working. Level low light on dash & dial stuck on empty. Fault codes 00771 fuel level sensor stored in engine ECU.

what did you use to clean up the plug?
usually electrical cleaner and a paper clip will do the job
Just to add that it has stuck a few times but a repeat the process with the hammer and it's fine again. Can last months or sometimes a week or so but better than paying Audi a fortune 😃
Same issue with mine and it happens periodically - I cleaned the connectors with contact spray which didnt help so i guessed the float mechanism might have been sticking. Used a rubber hammer and hit the top of the nylon cover, avaoiding the electrical connector and the gauge came back on. Worked for me and worth trying along with cleaning the connector.

@@diydaly A gde se nalazi pošiljalac? Ja kad spojim pumpu na zicu ona radi. Odakle je pokrece. Nemam struje na 20A osiguracu na tim žicama nemam struje
So I have a question mines was stuck at half for a while and then it got stuck on empty what you think is the issue?

Hi mate, got a weird one on this. It seems once it’s about half a tank it wants to work when it dips bellow half it stops working.
Any ideas on this ?
not had that tbh mate, sounds more like an issue with the sender
Your secondary sensor is sticking or needs replacement. Audi's usually have two sensors, one reads from empty to a little over the middle and the second reads from the middle to a full thank.
I just removed fuses 25,28 then try to start car, switch it off put fuses back in then restarted and it resets
I dont habe fuse 25 and 28 !?? 😅 Fuelgauge makes me sick
@@DZ-cc2fq one is instrument panel the other is fuel pump

How much would it cost if a mechanic were to fix this problem
It will vary depending on labour rate and diagnostic charges etc .. hard to say for a fault like this
