Weege, I am 66 years young and began racing at 14. I watched my hero Roger Decoster as he raced in the pouring rain in Puyallup Washington, no fences in those days, just my muddy boot one inch from the track seeing Roger duck his head as a softball sized rock glanced over his visor and he calmly railed the turn and passed the offending opponent. What does this have to do with you? I’ve seen the decades of announcers going from gawdawful to better and better as corporate America began to take our sport seriously - to today’s world where we have Feld motor sports and Peacock taking our sport the attention it deserves. And the icing on the cake is you and your incredible commitment and coverage of the sport. Thanks so much for the Weege show and for your commentary during the races. “K-Dub for President!” Is what my supercross sign read in the corner crowd at SAM BOYD when Kevin got a 3rd! Loudest corner crowd support ever-we enjoyed watching all your races and your opening show transfers….I got to see at least 6 of those back in the day

Thanks for putting the level (top 42 in the country if not the world) of competition in perspective. Having made the show in 50+ (honored to line up with Brownie and Emig!) And having my son Ripper just outside the top group (they take 4 ....4!!!) At regionals a couple times it's good to hear. Collarbone blues this time, thanks for the updates.

It's not that bad.you do a few qualifiers then use your vacation time for this race.been there a few times with my best friends kids.was there second father so I knew what he paid.yes it's not cheap but all these channels show the best of the best and there expenses.
Horse (Show) Jumping, at least at the child/teen level, can be hundreds of thousands to million dollar sport, with essentially little to no prize money, by comparison. I would say Horse Jumping (with Olympic aspirations) is closest comparison to MX/SX kids journey to Pro.
Cycling is a lot like moto, doesn't matter if road, XC or DH - You gotta put your kid on a $6k bicycle and even then he might be too lazy or talentless
So it rained and you waited 8 hours to race ? To reclaim the track ? It's motocross ! Unless it's lightning the gate drops on the scheduled time. It's part of this beautiful sport.
Jason..... Make the time to get your kid to this race NEXT YEAR. Sit down with the wife, make a plan. Give him that life experience this journey will grant him.

I agree, the Japanese have dropped the ball over the past few years. KTM has set the bar and the other manufacturers are copying a lot of there development. We would still be kick starting our bikes of KTM hadn’t pushed it.
I see too much money in amateur racing imo. I tried to have my kid do some local races. He was competing against kids with 3 bikes, a mobile shop, and a backyard track. 2 teachers with 3 kids, we couldn't compete. Only time in my life a felt poor. Still, the Lawrence's made it.
