A comfortable, family home. So glad Rose Kennedy took the initiative to purchase and restore it and then donate it to the NPS for future preservation.

He was born in 1917 so the home was a new build at the time. Brookline is a lovely area

Such a nice home for a family in the early part of the 20th century. But knowing just how many Kennedy kids Rose had it definitely would not be large enough to have all of them growing up in this home. It was really lovely of Mrs. Kennedy to purchase and restore the house to how it was around 1917. A fitting tribute to her son. Thanks Ken it is lovely to see such history.❤️💯👍😊🇨🇦🇨🇦

Actually - before the Kennedy's moved to NY, they purchased another much larger home in Brookline Mass at 51 Abbotsford Rd. This happened when JFK was three years old. Although a NZ'er I spent my formative years in Boston while my father obtained his PhD (Nuclear Physics) at MIT. We lived not far from the Abbotsford Rd house. We were there at the time of his assassination. Such a tragedy. His spirit lives on.

The Kennedy Compound is right here in Hyannis Port and both the JFK Museum & JFK Memorial are right here in Hyannis. I think the JFK Library is in Boston, where his brother Ted lay in state. Victoria Reggie was outside, greeting those who came to pay their respects. She's a very classy lady. Thanks, Ken!

There are literally thousands of similar homes in the greater Boston area, all of which have become prohibitively expensive. My favorite detail was the tiny “kids table” in the dining room. Those too used to be a common feature of family homes.

As Marilyn would say, but you can’t hold an idea like you can hold the man that thought it. Lucky her, I guess.
