YES! so far my favourite track by them, only discovered them last night and so far have listened to all official videos on YT, both KEXP sessions and a couple of outdoor live gigs, all fantastic sound, now looking at their 2022 tour wondering where to travel to.....!
It wasn't what I expected when it came out. I had to give it at least two listens before it started growing on me. I wish Geebz would have decomposed Harvest Feast, which has one of the sexiest solo's I've ever heard, but to be fair ATW have so many great songs it's all good. If anyone feels obliged to recommend a similar sounding band I would very much appreciate it. Psychedelic blues rock I guess is what I'm looking for.
@@vergaerd King Buffalo is my #2 not far behind ATW. Heavier, but in the same conversation I would suggest Elder, Asteroid, Graveyard, Greenleaf, Green Lung, or Witchcraft.
Love that you’re diving into these guys. Probably one of the few bands you review where I can see then fitting perfectly into your daily listening. Was lucky enough to see them live last week, and it truly was a 5 out of 5 gummy bears experience.
Awesome road you're traveling. King Buffalo should be your next stop. Burning is their top track right now, but their new album Acheron was recorded in a cave! Psychedelic Doom FTW!
All Them Witches album, "Nothing As The Ideal," blows away everything they've done before, not to discredit their earlier stuff, but it's an amazing composition in it's entirety. Pick any song and you'll be good. Also, King Buffalo is in the same vein, try them out.
All them witches are amazing. Dying Surfer, Lightning at the Door and Nothing is Ideal are the top albums from me, but literally every album they've dropped is great. I listen to all of them as full albums too. It's really hard to listen to a song like Saturnine and Iron Jaw without Enemy of my Enemy immediately following. Edit: I recommend watching a KEXP performance from ATW, even if it's not for YT. They nail the performance and the drummer makes some of the greatest faces while jamming. Love them.
I know I'm late to the party, but Lightning at the door is one of my favorite albums ever. It was my introduction to All them witches and to this day remains one of my most listened albums.
First time listening to ATW, this I can totally get behind. Getting ready to go down the rabbit hole on their music. Enjoyed the slow build up in this song. Looking out the window at the snow while I’m listening……yes, I’m still here. **Edit** Like I said, I went down the rabbit hole. Just watched a live show from a couple weeks ago, the KEXP performance from 2018 and several of their videos. Got excited when I saw they are out on tour and coming to Portland! 🤬 Sold Out!! 🤬😫
I saw them open for mastodon in 2018 for my first introduction into them. Still one of my favorite bands to this day and highly recommend seeing them. Especially since ATW and Nothing As The Ideal came out since I seen them.
@@troyraywalker Added bonus for this tour is that Alan Van Cleave, their keyboard player, is back in the fold after a 3 year break. Looking forward to what he brings to the new tunes.
My favorite too, honestly I was late to the party on these guys, just found them in 2019! But so glad that I did. They have so many different sounds album to album and all of it is fantastic!
Well that was really good. I hadn't heard of these guys, so thanks for the introduction Geebz! And thanks to the people who suggested this. Looking forward to digging more into these guys. Great video as always!
I just learned of these guys a couple of months ago, and I LOVE their stuff. Very eclectic. It's like stoner rock bet the blues and had a baby with a prog band. They're kinda all over the place.
I just love this band! Got all there work on vinyl and looking forward to see them live next year. But so far they have been feeding you the mellow and trancy tracks while they are so much more! Please check their track “41” 🙏🏼
Good choice! Probably my favorite album by ATW. They rented a cabin outside Asheville NC to record and went in with no pre-writtem songs. Wrote and recorded the whole album in about a week.
I'm still here! ATW must be one of my new alltime favorite bands at this point. I HIGHLY recommend checking out their KEXP Stuido Session of either "Death of Coyote Woman" or "Fishbelly 86 Onions" - Those sessions blew me away into another spiritual plane, brother! Keep geebing us your great videos, I really, really dig your vibes! Peace
Man, you really need to react to more ATW songs, favorite band ever, as a suggestion, you would dig the hell out of songs like 3-5-7, The Death of Coyote Woman or See You Next Fall from their last album
All Them Witches became one of my fave bands after releasing "Nothing as the Ideal" (BTW I recomend to check "See you next fall"). These young guys show us that rock is not dead. I watched many their concerts on YT and they are fuckin awesome! Definitely deserve to be more popular. I can't wait to see them live next year in Europe.
Heading down to -26F/-32C tonight, up here near Winnipeg, Canada. Nice to hear some trippy ATW to warm the soul. You can't go wrong with any track from them.
Last Friday of the year is coming up. Let’s go out with a headbanger!! Double Barrel Friday request- King Diamond “Abigail” and Mercyful Fate “Desecration of Souls”
This song makes you feel conected with something greater ~ Love it, and loved your review. You should listen to the Stray Songs version, is even more beautiful.
Funny you said how the track kinda locked you in it is the opening track on the album I myself would have gone with a different track off this album to suggest to you. ATW has easily became one of my go to bands in the last year hadn't heard of them prior to your first listen to them. Thanks to whomever suggested them in the first place. (always around to the end geebz)
This album as a whole is one of the best rides this song is mellow the next one intense as hell and every thing in-between id like to hear you review the last song on the album blood and sand milk and endless waters . One of my favorite bands they have so many good songs anything off lightning at the door they have quite a pallet of sound the two you've reviewed so far are two mellow ones they cover the spectrum very well
Nice stuff. Came out the gates like Granchester Meadows by Pink Floyd, then that big heavy Bonham drum beat dropped with the super chill vox. Loved it. I'm %85 here for your TOOL journey, but really enjoy when you get a track that's new to me and interesting. TOOL is Pink Floyd for the new millennium. Rich the Ancient Metal Beast

Super cool southwestern vibe to this song! I’m glad you reacted to this one, since I definitely will check out more ATW in the future. I haven’t given them the attention they really deserve. Kind of like how lots of people haven’t really listened closely to HUM - “Isle of the Cheetah” and the very simple, laid back yet loud vibe of “Afternoon With the Axolotls” (nudge, nudge 😁)…I’m still here!!!
This is an awesome live band. When I saw them the drummer played with a broken wrist, with bandages and all. It didn't prevent him from pounding on the drums like a steam train running. That's commitment to your music and the attending public.
completely different feel, but check out Gospel - Golden Dawn, or What Means of Witchery. both tracks off their only release in 2005. incredibly under appreciated these days, but they're putting something new out soon which the few of us who care are very, very excited for
As a musician of over 30 years I'd love to hear your thoughts on Death : flesh and the power it holds Pungent Stench : Viva La Muerte (dont know what they did in production but this album is louder than any other album I have) The Mist : Fangs of a Pig Meldrum : Purge Massacre - Corpse Grinder (outro has a cool thing where the vocals swirl from the right side to the left) BLEAK FLESH - Unique Cosmic Inaccuracy ( A drummer like NO other!!!) SLEEP TERROR - Bruxist (these guys are all over the place! From death to jazz to country to pop to flamenco. Has lord Marco on drums). Just a few suggestions. Enjoy!
Cool review of a cool song by a cool band! You rock Mr. Geebz! Would love to hear your take on a band called Minus the Bear, one of my absolute favorites. Good songs to start with: My Time, Drilling, Steel and Blood, Secret Country, or Summer Angel. Cheers!
So you have never listened to Colour Haze? May I suggest Love or Tempel...Periscope is really beautiful too....and basically their whole set of albums Kings of stoner rock.....together with a few other bands
I'm still here, & if you loved the studio version be sure to check out this one - unplugged, on the side of the road beside the train tracks...the addition of the violin makes it breathtaking. ruclips.net/video/My0QTXCw3cA/видео.html Happy New Year Geebz!
Thanks for shining a spotlight on Nashville’s own ATW!!! 🔥🔥🔥 One band I haven’t seen on your channel is Corrosion of Conformity. They have a rich catalog but basically anything off In the Arms of God is amazing. 🤘🤘🤘
I don't know if you've ever reacted to the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, but i think you'd love them. I'd recommend their song "November" or "Found God in a Tomato". Incredible Psych Rock band from Australia.
As others said, check out King Buffalo. ATW and KB are friends. Watch the King Buffalo video for Shadows off of their album Acheron which was recorded in a cave in upstate NY.
You should def review “uncharted” by make them suffer, it has amazing harmonies with vocals and great chugging with guitar. Something to check out maybe!
I don't know who picked this song, and the last one.. But you're being led astray from their greatest work. I suggest the following: Charles William Marriage of Coyote Woman Death of Coyote Woman When Jesus Comes Back Funeral for a Drunken Bird Internet And anything from their album, Nothing As The Ideal Hope you pick one of these next because they are by far better tracks to show their talent. Please keep reviewing these guys. They are so talented.
Yep and there is so much variety in their songs. I mean.. 1x1 for example is so fucking heavy
If you're looking for more All Them Witches, try 'The Marriage of Coyote Woman'.
Every one of their "Coyote Woman" songs is like the sickest blue-grass rock concept.
100% this!
3-5-7 is an absolute banger too
YES! so far my favourite track by them, only discovered them last night and so far have listened to all official videos on YT, both KEXP sessions and a couple of outdoor live gigs, all fantastic sound, now looking at their 2022 tour wondering where to travel to.....!

My fav All them Witches is still 'Elk. Blood. Heart.' The guitar solos are killer and the harmonies are fantastic
Love that you’re diving into these guys. Probably one of the few bands you review where I can see then fitting perfectly into your daily listening. Was lucky enough to see them live last week, and it truly was a 5 out of 5 gummy bears experience.

Psychedelic Doom FTW!
Whoever suggested this, I love you. All Them Witches is an amazing band!
Nothing as the Ideal is an amazing peice of music!
I wish he'd get to some of their more notable work. I feel like the rwo he's heard aren't very representative of their talent
If you like All Them Witches, you should checkout some King Buffalo.
Yes for sure!
All Them Witches album, "Nothing As The Ideal," blows away everything they've done before, not to discredit their earlier stuff, but it's an amazing composition in it's entirety. Pick any song and you'll be good.

King Buffalo and ATW are good buds!

They're one of my favorite bands to see live. So good. Their new album is super rad.
