Hello. Just recently visited the beautiful village of Stebbing. My great great grand mother, Susan Melbourne is buried there. Her son, William Melbourne sailed to Australia on a ship named the Garland in 1850, arriving 1851. Six years later he married an Irish girl and moved to a town in Victoria called Yackandandah and that it where our clan began. I now live just a few Kilometres from were they are both buried. I love history. Fantastic!!!!
Yes, I am supposed to be on a diet, so I’m glad I’m watching you eat those Warburtons square breads, instead of proper bread... it’s stopped me heading for the food cupboard, thankfully 😅 I don’t mind a bit of ‘battery acid’, takes me back to my youth, it was Strongbow, Bulmers or Woodpecker 😂🤣😆🤪 and menthol cigarettes! No wonder I’m loopy 😝 Candice was the star 🌟 in this one Tom, hamming it up for the camera, and keeping you straight on the details 😁. I luv it 👌✊
hi tom and the lovely Candice it was very good the you were lucky enough to get the walking book you have plenty of walks to keep you busy for awhile the round tower of the church looked medieval looking and it was nice that you could stop of and have a quick half before you went home stay safe and will see you on the next one 😀
Looks like a nice walk and you picked a lovely spot for lunch. I'm with Candice, ginger is horrible!! Some great shots of Essex and a great choice of music to accompany them too.
Its nice in Stebbing, you missed Priors Hall a manor house 13th century just before the High St, biggest tudor property there, spent a year working on the property
Great little video, two thumbs up. I enjoyed the history content very much. I have just read Akenfield by Ronald Blythe. It's the history of a little village in Suffolk {your next door neighbours} it was a great eye opener for me, very interesting info - before and after The Great War. Things would have been very much the same in Essex.
I have a walk there in my Suffolk book and it talks about akenfield and Ronald blythe. Sounds really good, I'll have to get a copy prior to doing that walk. Cheers mate.
@@TOM_OUTDOORS The book makes very interesting reading, on page 62 an 80yr old farmer tells how, at harvest time each farm worker had an allowance of 17 pints of beer per day. I had to read that bit twice but it is no misprint. He goes on to explain that the beer was brewed on the farm, and he gives details on how it was made and the exact recipe they used. Then the farmer gave a big party when all the crops had been harvested successfully.
I misread the title and thought it said STABBING AND BARFIELD SAILING. I thought you had killed someone and fled the country on a boat. New direction for the channel I thought to myself. Check it out. 12:16 is one of your best on camera belches yet ! I score that 9.8 out of 10. I picked up the undertones of ginger in my living room ! 13:38 That aeroplane is rubbish he is never going to get that off of the ground.
Amazing video Tom and Candice well done to both of you for a amazing video take care stay safe.
Excellent walk! Looking forward to your and Candice's adventures in Essex and East Sussex
Classic Tom! Lovely villages with interesting churches. Great countryside, blossom and birdsong. Well captured mate. (Plus mum's cakes!)

You could legit sell your allowance each day on the quiet and make a killing!
I love Sussex but I'd take Essex any day now. ;)
Stebbing reminds me of Lavnaham in Suffolk ,so similar .
Have a goo d day you two , be well .
Nice :)

good afternoon guys..
Battery acid lol. Scrumpy Jack cider worth try cornish get down Somerset Cornwall best ciders good watch
Essex? Where my sister lives - Souffend innit. Butties lad, they're butties. I've tried some but not keen on the cracker type slices.
Enough rambling, let's get ambling! For a change every now and then lol
Are you familiar with David Stanford's Essex churches book?
No I'm not but I'll have a look for it thanks.
Shame you did not walk through the village of Bardfield Saling, and talk about some of the old houses, pub, etc
Sounds good unfortunately it wasn't on our route but I'll probably go back there at some point to look. Cheers.
1st at last
